Without apex, they are missing someone who has a positive impact on the whole team, making them more vulnerable. He is the one making the calls and bringing emotion to the match and the map. 

Thunderpick is wide open when it comes to team strength. I woud be really happy and could see FURIA taking it this time. 

I agree, and I wonder who'll be the next IGL to step up in the squad since jL surely doesn't know most of their play calls.

For the Thunderpick tournament, we'll see if FURIA shows some improvement, but for now i'll put them as the third best team because they've been getting worse.

It makes me think fatigue is starting to hold them back because they're probably the only tier one team that has played every S-tier tournament and hasn't taken a break.

Mkay, maybe you are right, that they might be running out of steam. All the traveling, jet lag, and playing tournaments back-to-back is just mentally and physically exhausting. You are constantly under pressure and have to deliver, which really takes a toll. But last time they completely crushed navi in an epic grand final... kscerato more than deserved his MVP award last year.

I'd put Falcons as the team to win it all, but if FURIA surprises us tomorrow and becomes the other finalist, then it could get interesting like it's a rematch of the IEM Cologne Major. The downside for FURIA heading into the finals is their map pool, but their individual prowess might make up for it.

Furia against Falcons in the Grand Final would be f awesome, and I would love to see Furia win and send monesy and niko home    especially since Falcons are considered the favorites and Furia are still the underdogs here. Man I hope they catch the momentum, pls. Falcons individual skill often looks better on paper anyway, if you know what I mean... but with $250,000 for first place, everyone better try hard. I have to say that because of work, I could not follow the games as closely as I wanted to, hmm... but I am definitely going to watch the final sunday on twitch.

I just realized after reading that bolded part, cs2 is probably the only esports that separate the team's share and player prizepool right from the start. The other games tournament are not as transparent as cs2 tournament organizer

It's hard to say who's better because Furia is still showing signs of life after beating Legacy, and Aurora also looked better after their early loss against 9z.

I'd rather go with over 2.5 maps and hope it goes to a decider because their win rates on most maps are very close, so even if they drop their map pick, the other team still has a good chance to win on their opponent's map pick.

That's not an easy path for them because there's the Royal Bear and then the Xipto Esports which are both good team. And they've faced Xipto in the grand finals. Good luck with the other teams that can get through the div 2 tournament.

Amazing grand finals yesterday in Furia vs betboom, well every map except map 1 and 5 was tense

Did not expect BB team to play this well, first they beat falcons and then almost beat furia as well. That map 4 comeback on mirage was amazing until 11-11 and then they threw a 4v2 with fallen playing some insane iq clutch. Must have been very disheartening to BB losing map 4 like that and they couldn't keep up at all in map 5

Everyone gonna be pointing fingers towards boombl4 who was 45-81 in all 5 maps, just an off day from him individually sadly

I also underestimated BB, and thought they got lucky with Falcons trolling in the semis, but three maps into the finals, I was surprised to see them leading 2-1. Mirage was their best chance to close it out, but they lost composure in those last few rounds.

I wouldn't blame boombl4 there, it's normal for a captain/IGL to sit at the bottom. If i'm blaming someone, it's probably the third or fourth player because Magnojez and zorte have been consistent.

We'll see if the bookie gives better odds to Team Liquid, I guess that it's also worth betting on them. Because it's for sure that they have made scrims and practices prior to this tournament.

I was able to follow the matches earlier, and I can already see these four winning teams would be the last four to survive in the playoffs.  

To the other teams, it's just a matter of avoiding a 0-4 series score so you don't get last place, because either way, if you finish 3rd or 4th place in the groups, you're still fucked by the tier one teams in the other group.

I agree you can always count on Gen.G to find a way to choke in Worlds despite being the heavy favorites time and time again. 

If i'm sprinkling a bet on these teams, it's probably T1 and HLE. I can't trust the LPL teams unlike the past few seasons because of their substitute players and I think a few teams like G2 or Liquid could stun most of them.

It's not surefire, but I don't mind taking them at that price. The bookies don't trust them as much because they only finished third in the summer playoffs, but it's similar to how they started their run with last year's Worlds.

This depends on how quickly T1 can lock in their prime form before they meet either Gen.G or HLE in the playoffs, since those two are the only teams that can eliminate them.

On the other hand, it's insane how the chinese teams went 0-4 today.
