They needed a draw in this match, and they were able to do it.

It's clear that if they really want to be in a higher caste they have to come up with a new strategy and not just rely on a draw to survive.

I understand that Galatasaray are having a bad season. I literally knew they won't win the game. Although, after Alanyaspor got a one man down. I probably expected Galatasaray to take advantage of the situation. But, they could not goal and ended the match in 1-1 draw. No doubt, Galatasaray's goalkeeper performance was highly impressive. All the performances of Galatasaray this year are bad. There are no players that can play like they used to. It doesn't matter if it's a defense, midfielder or forward, they all play like they're trying to be the worst team in the league.
This team needs a lot of support to get better. If the match results continue to come in this way, it will be very sad things for Galatasaray.

Honestly the roster galtasaray has is not even close to being enough to compete in this league. Which is mind boggling considering they have spent so much money to build this roster. I do not know what they were thinking and how they did it, but they somehow managed to spend more than most teams and still build a roster that is worse than most teams.

Mismanagement is definitely something that have been bugging them for a few years now, and the roster they have is just beyond stupid, something that we could build in Football Manager with the same funds would have been a lot better than this if you ask me. In any case, we could see them at least getting a point after many weeks, that is an "improvement" for them to say the least, but not enough at all.

Even though I can say you are sort of right about self-confidence, I also agree with lixer. Galatasaray built terrible roster, mainly because they think last year's team is functioning and good enough so they only got some players to fix specific positions. But it failed. Only because players from last year are literally terrible. Fenerbahçe did it better renewing squad.

Unfortunately Fatih Terim has always been known to get his kind of players and he was never good at roster engineering. I do not remember too many times he found a gem for cheap that turned out to be a great player, he always spends money on local players who are not good enough and pay a lot for them and almost always turns out to be not enough of a player. Right now Galatasaray have players that we could have seen from anatolian clubs usually, or even second division (named first ironically).

So, with a new management, new manager, and new players, in a few years there is nothing stopping them from becoming the best team again, but it will take a while before that happens.

The big 3 in turkish league are really in deep trouble with their financial situation and we finally seen it this year. All those big transfers that we are used to all this years before didnt payoff at all and Trabzonspor is taking big advantage of it and will probobly win the title.

The top three teams aren't that bad financially. They didn't make a lot of transfers this year, normally they wouldn't pass winter transfer window without any transfers. Galatasaray spent a lot of money at the beginning of the year on transfer fees but kept the salaries appropriate. Fenerbahçe didn't bring big stars like they used to. Beşiktaş brought important stars like Pjanic and Batshuayi almost for free. These teams had much worse times financially. They are currently recovering.
