Metamask won't accept password... is it safe to reset it?

as @Almasani suggested to you, if you still keep the Phrase / privet key, there is nothing to worry about it, but make sure you download the metamask according to the link provided and use another wallet then import the phrase, make sure you look at the blockchain explorer for see your coins, if you are afraid of losing the coins in the wallet address then move it to another wallet like Trust wallet, Safepal and other wallet u need.

thank you guys.  i clicked on your "legit" link and its says oops something wrong but the you click foward and it gives the download.

Then I downloaded it on firefox because chrome had all kinds of problems before.  It gave me the old address of the wallet but because I rest the wallet it gave me the new address.  I have three accounts now that say "zero" because I have twice added accounts in the past making mistakes.  I can see all of them. acount 1 is the real one and has no coins in it.

I did this on the desktop.  When I use my iphone metamask wallet it won't let me buy any coins. no coin pops up and is added to the pancake swap.

I believe I still have my coins. this is is very complicated.  I must have not had the right metamask extension? thank you. I hope I am almost to seeing my coins.

I am not sure what else to do right now. I was told to use firefox before for less problems. I already have the metamask on my phone.  I know how to add coins done it way too much but my bnb balance isn't even there and I can't even buy a single coin the coin doesn't even pop up on pancake swap?

I just scanned the qr code by conencting my wallet with the wallet connect option on my desktop and i scanned the code.  my account 1 is on my metamask and is connected but still no coins or balance. it's not the add coins problem. a single coin doesn't pop up when i click on it in dextools.

I can now see new currencies "pop up" on pancake swap but there is no bnb or any coins on it.  I feel I am almost there.

My Metamask won't accept my password and I know it is correct.  I have the seed phrase and the password I created to sign up for the metamask.  If I reset my wallet, is there a chance I would lose my coins? I can't have that.  Also, is the "password" different than the seed phrase,,, becaue it accepted this password before.. I didn't change it.

Before I could just reload the phone and it would ask for the face id and I would be good to go.... please advise if you know what to do or have been through this before.

I experienced this in metamask where in i want to change the security but it wouldn't accept my password which i know is correct. I always save the seed phrases of my wallets so that if anything occured unexpectedly i have it and i can restored my wallet everytime. And you will not lose your coins because until you have your seed phrase secured.

Okay. Have you switched your RPC? If you're using BNB, then it is most likely that your BNB can be found on the Binance Smart Chain.

Go to your Account > Settings > Network > Add Networks and input the following information below.

Network Name: Binance Smart Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
Chain ID: 56
Symbol: BNB

If the seed phrase doesn't disappear, it looks like your wallet will be fine, especially if you keep the private key from the wallet then there will be no problem if we forget the password in Metamask, I'm also a Metamask user but I always import the address I use so even though if you lose your metamask password, of course you just need to create a new one and re-import the address using the private key.

Instead of continuing to use metamask, try with trust wallet on your iphone. https://trustwallet.com/
Download trust wallet and enter your seed. I think trust wallet is probably easier to use for you.
Trust Wallet or Metamask are both non-custodial wallets, wallet does not hold your private key, you are the real owner of your wallet. trust wallet or metamask are just doors to your "house", using any door you can enter your house. Therefore, you can transfer your wallet from trust wallet to metamask easily and vice versa.

Are you sure there is no capital letter in the password, also check for letter such as "i" and "l".
From another approach, if you are sure of the seed phrase, to be on the safer side, import you seed phrase to another wallet and check your coins , you can't afford making such mistakes now, in the same way, if you have the wallet address, you can also view it on wallets like Trust wallet without importing to view your tokens and coins.
Just to add again, I find Tokenpocket more better as it supports many networks and chains, just making it easier to use then Metamask. Other wallets you can try depending on your smartphone if that is the case is imtoken.

All wallets in every account
in MM remains the same whether your token is lost or not. I just copy the wallet address, look for it on Etherscan and at the bottom the section where you see transactions for that wallet address, click tab for Tokens. When you drag that screen up, you should find your token contract address. Once you have it, copy and paste it into Metamask in Tokens section. Your token will automatically be withdrawn from that point.

I think the Metamask password is not very important. It just serves to secure the wallet on the browsing. The most important thing you backup is the seed phrase. And you can change the password by re-importing the seed phrase. Your token will not be lost even if you have changed the login password, unless you lose the seed phrase, all your tokens will be lost.

i just reset my wallet with metamask and teh see phrase and there are no coins onit!  Does it have to load all the other coins one at a time? I am kind of scared... I clearly have the right see phrase.  Has anyone everhad this happen before?

It is easy to log in if we keep our 12 words keys which is easy for us to access. Metamask is really as secure site and I've stored most of my Token to be hold.

Metamask does not require a password if you want to set or uninstall Metamask and then reactivate it. Only 12/24 phrases you need to back up. You can reset the password after the import phrase. Actually Metamask also supports the phrase MyEtherWallet. If you create a wallet from MEW, you can also import MEW phrases into Metamask.

please go ahead and reset your account. as long as you have the seed and paraphase. you can recover and nothing will lose. Make sure you have the accurate details. some people has different or multiple accounts. Maybe you are trying to log into another account with different details. Be sure you are using the right credentials for the account. if not rest.

I always prefer to keep the private key of each wallet in addition.
This will save the user from many problems. If the metamask is not installed or does not work, then you can use any other wallet.
For serious savings, I use a hardware wallet, and for small operations and testing projects and transferring approvals to them, it is convenient to use metamask wallets.

No problem as long as you have your wallet private key. You can open metamask using new password but you may get different address when you open it. After you open your metamask with your new password you can simple import account your private key to recover your old wallet address with your funds.
