Sporting managed to satisfy the expectations last night by defeating Portimonense in a home match by 3-2. Paulinho did a splendid job by making a hat-trick and having a big role in this important win. It was important because there is a huge match tonight. Porto have a home match against Benfica. Porto have been the dominant side in their home matches against Benfica lately. I don't think that they will lose this match also. But a probable tie would create a nice advantage for Sporting in the standings.

I said Paulinho can change the game and he did a hat-trick in only 18 minutes. It was a great comeback but Pedro Sa's red card made things easier for Sporting for sure.
Today in away game Braga won with six goals and Vitor Oliveira made a hat-trick in 21 minutes. It was an impressive performance by whole team. Now Porto is leading with two goals and if they win the game they will be the new leader. Benfica will be seven points behind both Porto and Sporting which is a big problem for them.

The first half ended 2-0. Benfica failed to score. In the 49th minute of the second half, the referee showed a red card to Andre Almeida. forcing Benfica to play with 10 players. So they could not return to the track. Winning a match with 10 players is not easy. Though Benfica made a lot of attack.

It was another win for Porto even in this tough match against Benfica tonight. Porto finished the first half 2-0 ahead and got a nice advantage first. But in the first minute of the second half, Benfica decreased the goal difference to one. And they got a red card too only two minutes after the goal. This was a big problem for Benfica but they still didn't let Porto dominate the rest of the match. Porto still were able to score their third goal and won by 3-1 too. They are the leader by sharing the points with Sporting. And it is a big hit to Benfica as the point difference has gone up to 7 now.

Yes, you are right, I don't expect anything extreme from them in this season. My guess is that Benfica's team has some internal problems. But you know, their players are not too much bad, they are well experienced. It is true that they are not playing well this season, but this is mainly due to their internal problems. They may not have any chance of winning the title this season, cause they are 6 points behind Porto. But, after finishing this session, Benfica should think about how to do better next season, to make the team better organized.

My guess is that Benfica's team has internal problems. But their players are not bad. Yet they are not playing well. This is mainly due to internal problems. They may not have any chance of winning the title this season. They are 6 points behind Porto. Benfica should think about how to do better next season. To make the team better organized.

I think benfica still has a big enough chance to win the championship trophy this season, moreover, benfica performance in the league is not too bad and they only have a difference of 7 points from porto and also sporting lisbon, benfica now only needs their consistency in winning and hope porto and lisbon will get their first defeat of the season, after the defeat  in the portugal cup yesterday, I think it's time for benfica to bounce back to focus on the match in the league.

He really did an awesome job in this game. Sporting hoped for the Porto v Benfica match to end in a draw. But Porto weren't intending to let such thing happen. They destroyed Benfica by 3-1 in this match and captured the lead. They have the same points with Sporting now though. This was a really bad result for Benfica as they are trailing behind Porto and Sporting both now in the standings. Because the point difference has increased to 7 now.

I would say that based on the stats Sporting has conceded less goals than Porto showing they are playing carefully and just winning the games and getting the three points.Porto on the other hand is more attack focused as they have scored 11 goals more than Sporting.Both teams have different philosophies so it will be very interesting to see who can come on top.Most probably the team which will be less error prone and will take the games one by one as a final game even against very weak teams in the Primeira Liga.

This was a historical game I believe. Because Santa Clara never lost to Sporting in their home games in their history until today. And they made history today by defeating Sporting by 3-2 home. Even though Sporting got ahead two times in the game, they still couldn't prevent Santa Clara from becoming the winner. Sporting actually played better than their competitor in terms of the effort made. But Santa Clara were better about taking advantage of the goal chances. Damn, didn't watched game, seems that I missed entertaining match. Probably nobody didn't saw such result coming before the game. Now Porto have great chance to get 3 points lead. They will face Estoril - not strong team on paper, but so far they're performing succesful.
Meanwhile Benfica will play against mid table Pacos De Ferrerira.

Porto bearly won 2-3 against Estoril. Estoril leaded 2-0 and 1 goal was disallowed due to VAR and Porto made a miracle comeback in the second half and won 2-3 and now are 3 points ahead of Sporting that drop some really important points.

Porto had a hard time playing against Estoril today. Am quite impressive with the way Estoril played in the first half. They scored 2 goals. Although, they couldn't defense the winning. While Porto were lucky enough to secure 3 goals in the second half, and probably got the 3 points from Estoril. The result showed how superior Porto is in the Primeira Liga.

However, Porto have played 17 matches so far in the League and still remains unbeatable. It clearly that they have high chances of winning the Primeira Liga trophy this season.
