I mean there are other coins that were created after Bitcoin that could have competed for the top spot, but still BTC reigns supreme. I think it is really about the way it was conceived as an alternative to the fiat currencies that also gave BTC the edge.

Agree with you though, most altcoins were created for the purpose of money-making while bitcoin was created to bring some changes in our money system. That is of course the "only" reason for staying at top, but we have to also remember that it is getting the most exposure as well, mainly because it is the first one, but if there were more and more talk about some other coin, bitcoin would have dropped even though it was first. Look at television stations, news agencies and everywhere else and you will see that bitcoin is the most talked one, when a coin is the most talked one then it becomes the highest one, that is true for all the ranks, the more you talk about ethereum the higher it gets and solidifies the second position as well.

Long story short we are in a situation where we are talking about something that is quite obvious and that is basically endorsement from all over the world towards bitcoin. The moment people stop talking about bitcoin, it will drop like crazy, 2018 was sort of like that but no other coin got talked more during that time even though bitcoin was talked less than usual.

Bitcoin is the first coin created by Satoshi Nakamoto. and bitcoin has a very high popularity compared to other altcoins currently circulating on the exchange market. Although today many platforms have multifunctionality, the popularity can't be beat by anything. because in general everyone only knows Bitcoin in the cryptocurency world. that is why bitcoin will always be on top of other altcoins.

Can't believe you don't know why bitcoin is still number 1 compared to all the alternate coins on the market, bitcoin is still the number 1 coin on the market and there's a possibility that it would remain that way forever, bitcoin is still the first in coin ranking for a lot of reasons like it was the first cryptocurrency and the most trusted crypto in the market, forget about the innovations these new projects have, without bitcoin been created we won't be here.

Bitcoin is the major cryptocurrency, this is the first thing to say to introduce cryptocurrency to anyone though I have to agree that there’s no use for Bitcoin compare to other altcoins, it doesn’t affect Bitcoin at all because people show respect to BTC and they believe on it that’s why it remains on top. Just to let you know, the invention of bitcoin is what begot altcoin, bitcoin has been in existence for long before altcoins where been created, bitcoin being the oldest is the most popular and trusted cryptocurrency so far and this is more reason which it's at the top, no matter the condition of a father he is still the head of the family, the fact that the new blockchains are doing much more better than bitcoin doesn't mean bitcoin has lost it's purpose of creation.

the first one to come always gives a special impression, moreover, the development is very good, the trend always rises in the first decade of bitcoin's birth. although many new altcoins emerge with better technology, strategies, and real fundamental functions that are really needed, all of them will still refer to bitcoin. If you do consider that bitcoin is the king of crypto or the first one then you wouldn't really have any doubts about it and don't question out because the community would surely or mainly support

and  if ETH is  really that good enough then it would really be on top 1 no doubt but the community would be the one will really be the main decider on  whose gonna be on top.

If you do really believe that its ETH then its your choice but you cant blame out the community decisions.

You are letting yourself to be impressed over nothing, ethereum has allowed all of those things to exist, are we better because of them? Of course not, millions of people have lost their money investing in all of those useless coins and projects.

Bitcoin is robust, you may think that being a currency is not very exciting but it is not supposed to be, bitcoin is supposed to become the cornerstone of this market and when an economic crisis comes there is nothing more valuable than something that can become a store of value, also even if ethereum is widely being used to speculate, who is actually buying anything with ethereum? Almost all of the transactions that include a real exchange of value use bitcoin and nothing else which gives bitcoin its massive value compared to any other coin that we have in the market.

But this is my take..Bitcoin is made first and it is simply to find more unique and more useful in the community which makes people give more interest in Bitcoin than the altcoins. And that other reason is that because of its price, that really growing and it was very enticing enough for the people to take some risk hoping that someday they earn more.
