Someone like OP who has no idea about marketcap and compares the prices should never really talk about the rivalry of two different things. The price difference between bitcoin and eth is 14.5x right now, that is how much bigger the price of bitcoin is, but if you check the market cap difference then it is literally 2.3x right now. So if the price of eth actually goes 2.5x higher than in the ranking ethereum will pass over bitcoin.

If you are not even aware of this then I am sorry but you have no power to start a new topic and be taken seriously, your views are as unimportant as a 2 year old, actually there are some 2 year olds that have a lot more sense to shut up about things they do not know about, so I am sure there are some that should be taken more seriously than OP. First get a knowledge about it from others, then speak your mind about it.

It is incorrect to compare Ethereum and Bitcoin. They have different purposes, they are used differently.
I can be wrong, but one was created to be anonymous, fast and cheap alternative for payments, but others as a platform/blockchain for projects to be used.
If someone really wants to compare value of each cryptocurrency, I think it will be correct to compare the energy spent to mine both of them compared with the value they have. But not just market value.

Yes I really agree with you mate, both crypto has a different market value and also has a different purpose but they only the same in the fact that these cryptos are good for investment even in a short or long term investment. Besides both cryptocurrency were now known as a valuable crypto and there's no point of comparing the two in terms of price because it is quite obvious how far was the value of bitcoin compared to Ethereum.
It is just so good to know that people who can't afford to invest in bitcoin due to it's high price could still have the chance to invest in a top crypto which is Ethereum that is much affordable.

Its over 13 years since bitcoin and the blockchain was invented and the BTC dominance is over 48% and ETH dominance is still a merely 18.85%.
Bitcoin cannot be toppled by eth or any other cryptocurrency in the coinmarketcap because aside from bring the first and most popular cryptocurrency, the periodic halving ensure the decreasing supply of bitcoin which contributes to its increasing value

I think the Price is not the main criteria. Use case of any coin is more important which reflects the inherent strengh and intrinstic value. Bitcoin is most De-centralized and has very  limited supply that is why it deflationary and store of value but we have witnessed during the past one year that coins those have upgraded their network and improved use case like, Polkadot, ADA and Matic , have shown growth in their price to the4 extent of 800% in one year. Hence, as long as Ethereum continues to upgrade its network, reduces transacton fee, it will certainly impact on its price.

I think ETH don't need to be the same price as BTC. While BTC a store of value for a lot of people, ETH is pretty different. And it's usage is more universal. Web-sites, games, NFT and lot more.

If you compare the prices of the two coins it will certainly be much different. Try to see from the other side like the performance of the two coins. The biggest application of Bitcoin is for making payments and as a speculative investment asset. On the other hand, the most important use of Ethereum is for smart contract platforms. However, there is a large overlap between these two. Ethereum can also be used for making payments, and lately returns from ETH has been higher than those from Bitcoin. There is zero chance that ETH will be able to overtake BTC anytime in the next 10 years, but from what we have seen so far, it is poaching a lot of users from Bitcoin.

There is no reason or strategy whatsoever for ethereum to overtake bitcoin at this time and it is not easy to do so, even though ethereum is currently quite successful in securing itself at the number two position in the crypto world.

What ethereum needs to maintain right now is popularity, so as not to be displaced by other coins in the years to come, this is actually more difficult than trying to overtake bitcoin in such circumstances.

It's like comparing volleyball and basketball. although both are balls but they have their respective roles and functions.

I agree we can't compare Ethereum and Bitcoin, because they both have different functions. So Ethereum and Bitcoin were not created to beat
each other, but I think they were created to complement each other. For investors having both is a very good decision, because we know Ethereum
and Bitcoin perform equally well. By investing in Ethereum and Bitcoin, the profit that will be obtained will also be much greater, than just investing
in one of them.

Well... you can't just compare the price/unit. You've got to take the supply into account as well. A better way would be to compare the market capitalization of the two crypto assets.
BTC's market cap is only about 2.3x ETH's one while the price difference is over 10x, but then when you look at the supply you'll have a great discrepancy.

I think Bitcoin will continue leading the market. That's the most trusted asset IMO and I believe most of the funds will pour into it.

Coins are not ranked according to their price. Ranking is according to market cap. For example, according to Coingecko number 3 coin is ADA which costs only $2+ per coin. But there are many coins such as BNB, BCH, LTC, LINK, DOT which cost much more than ADA.

Yea the comparison is not within the price but the market cap, if it's by the price then ADA shouldn't be among the top 10 cryptocurrencies. No matter what bitcoin can't be compared to ETH, they both have their different reasons of creation and works perfectly in their own lane, bitcoin will always be the number one cryptocurrency, the most popular and trusted and I think it will still hold that position no matter what happens I don't think Ethereum will flip bitcoin in the near future.

I agree,  normally bitcoin and ethereum are different in all things, even their rate of growth is far from each other, etherum grows in an arithmetic way while Bitcoin grows in a geometric rate. Rivalry occur among two close project that offer the same offering and bitcoin and ethereum are not.
