Personally I do not see anything wrong with fighting another boxer from the same country, after all boxing is really popular at Philippines and before they could fight with opponents from other countries they had to fight their own countrymen, however the fact they are part of the same promotion agency is a problem but one that they will have to get over if both of those fighters want to become the best on their division.

Well either Donaire or Gaballo will win I'm sure there are still a pride that their countrymen will be proud off though as a Filipino I think it will be hard for them to choose which one they will going to support but if I am going to support to Donaire instead.

Donaire's last goal might be a rematch to Inoue before retiring. But he needs to finish the task first by beating Gaballo.
Correct, if he wanted to have a rematch wtih Inoue and have a good paycheck before he retires, he really need to win in fashion against the young and upcoming Gaballo.

I'm supporting both Donaire and Gaballo here but maybe it's time now for a younger generation to enter the big picture. If Donaire will lose in this match, he should retire now for good as Inoue won't show any interest in a rematch. If Gaballo, on the other hand, losses, he should take that loss as his inspiration and fuel to improve more.
But it's not going to be easy for Donaire, he is old and has been carrying the torch for PH fighters for many years now. Maybe it's time that a new and younger generation should be the face of PH in Gaballo. But we wil have to see if Reymart has what it takes to beat the veteran and more experience Nonito. Because based on Nonito's last fight, he still have that power to knock out anyone.

because based on Nonito's last fight, he still have that power to knock out anyone.

That was exactly the reason why age should not be considered as a disadvantage for Donaire.

Remember that he's the one who gave Naoya Inoue his first cut damage on the champion's career (a cut above his right eye) and the first boxer to make Inoue struggles to win.

Gaballo surely knows that he's up against the monster. I'm looking forward to him giving Donaire a tough match.

Both of them looks tough that is to say the fight is gonna be tough . Let me not just conclude the fight in looking in appearance,  because  sometimes what think about in appearance  is not what really come true. But won't miss to watch this fight.

It's not totally based on the appearance only, it's based on their record and how they beat their past opponents.

What happened is, Donaire had a clear win against Nordine Oubaali as he knocked him out early, while Gaballo is coming from a controversial split decision win against Emmanuel Rodriguez, and he has not fought an elite boxer before like Donaire.

Both of them looks tough that is to say the fight is gonna be tough.
From the history between Donaire & Gaballo, indeed both of them are the best boxers they have ever won, it can be said that their boxing this time is (headline), although Donaire is one of the most talented fighters on his resume but, Gaballo is not to be taken lightly by Donaire, Gaballo is also a talented resumer along with his fighters.

I agree with what you are saying, boxing Donaire vs. Gaballo is more of a challenge, roughly leading to defending each other's WBC titles.

If Donaire is still on his prime then I can say he undoubtedly better than Gaballo, but it seems like Donaire is nearing his retirement while Gaballo is still in the process of climbing the peak of his career.
This could indeed challenge Donaire as he is fighting a rising fellow Filipino boxer. This fight will determine whether or not Gaballo will be stepping on the bigger ring. On the other side, Donaire has nothing more to prove, he has become a champion several times in four different divisions.
So, It's up to Donaire whether or not he'll take Gaballo lightly.

Neverthless, this could be another interesting fight to watch.

Grabbalo is a hungry fighter based on what I see in his interviews he is respectful of Donaire's achievement but he has a goal to attain also we'll see after this fight if Donaire wins if he is ready to face Inoue again or finally face Casimero, Donaire is not getting any younger I don't want to see him gets the beating like what Pacquiao received, his career may be rejuvenated again, but this is boxing the body is the first to give up even if the heart to go on is there.

A good motivation to try winning. If he has that mindset, the training will be harder knowing what kind of fighter Donaire was.

I really like to see how he will perform and what kind of strategy he will try to use trying to win
the fight, it's a tough one but very interesting.

Both deserve respect. Whoever wins will give another hype for their name and career.

Of course Gaballo would really be seeing this as a good window on much better opportunities if he would able to beat up Donaire into this one considering on whats the current rank of Donaire then
beating him would really be worth despite of the gap behind in between experience which is really that obvious but it doesnt mean that this is an auto win for Donaire.
Yeah, hes already getting old but there are no signs or words that he would retire soon but for now he's still that motivated and eager to have some rematch
with Inoue but of course he would need to pile this one first.

Yes even if he lost this fight but I don't assume that it is he will get more opportunities since he's name will be more known to the boxing fans and how much more if he could successfully defeat Donaire? For sure he's popularity and current standing will increase maybe also the his fighting value will add up after he win this fight. But let's really see this another exciting fight since  what's important thing here is we see Donaire fight again.

beating him would really be worth despite of the gap behind in between experience which is really that obvious but it doesnt mean that this is an auto win for Donaire.

For sure lots had never seen for Gaballo to win nor able to recognize when it comes to popularity and lots had been keep an eye to Donaire to win this fight which is likely to happen basing up on experience alone.

He had already proven out his fast counterpunches and speed yet he had gained that title of Filipino Flash which stands on his speed but hes getting old already and been defeated out
because of that change of performance of course because of age which isnt surprising.

Gaballo would really need to defeat if he do likes on improving his current standing or career.

That was always the goal. I know both fighters will do their best as a win will reflect what will happen to their careers now.

I will bet on Gaballo to win. I'm now wondering what will be the odds for this fight. Like to see Gaballo at @3. Smiley

It's possible that the odds could be higher than that. No offense to Reymart, but Nonito is the more famous and experience one here so he should be the outstanding favourite.

So the pressure might be on Gaballo, a huge underdog to perform on a big stage and try to upset and become the next big thing that will come out from the Philippines. So betting on him might be a good idea if the odds are 3.x and up.

This fight is actually the test for Gaballo's career. He has a good record and remain undefeated but many believe this would be his first defeat. Despite of the age gap between Gaballo and Donaire, we know its not a hindrance for the latter to win. Because Donaire is still a dangerous opponent and his last fight against Oubaali proves it with his excellent performance and defensive skills.

Thus this will be a hard fight for Gaballo since he will face the toughest opponent (so far) of his career and a chance for him to be on top rank.

because based on Nonito's last fight, he still have that power to knock out anyone.

And when since the appearance matter in boxing industry? It ain't about appearance it's still a mindset game to eventually win and to entertain people that are watching the fight.
Both of them have power to knock each other out and the speed to counter any attacks, only their experience are different that's why Donaire shouldn't be looked easily just because he's aging and Gaballo know that there's still a beast living within Donaire and there's are still some aces his sleeve that he should watch out.
I'm excited to watch this next month, a clash between two of the best Philippine boxers.

It's more on how a fighter will win, every fighter has a different appearance but the fans love a boxer that is consistently winning and a humble boxer as well. Maybe for a job outside boxing, like if you are going to be a promoter, your looks or appearance is very important, the more appealing you are the more chances you'll have more job outside boxing.

Well, not only the consistency on winning but the way a fighter wins, lots of fighters with an undefeated record but they are still criticized, one good example is Mayweather, he was criticized because he does not entertain the crowd, most of his fights, you will hear people chanting with boos on him.

Donaire is an exciting boxer that's why he is popular, but at the end of the day, it still depends on how fans would see it as we don't have the same opinion or taste of kind of excitement.

I somehow say that appearance is important on boxing knowing that they need ticket sales to boost their fight as well they can get more bigger fights next time around as well of they don't have an appeal to the public then for sure even how good they are their fight will never be appealing to the boxing fans that's why they must have that but as well they also need to have power and stamina so that they can win on their possible match up. Together with other people I'm also excited to see their fight and bet on Donaire if there's a chance.

Gaballo's record is Outstanding and no Doubt that Donaire will face him with full details , but with the experiences of Nonito over  Raymart I doubt that he can easily defeat Donaire or win over the title holder.
but if Nonito losses in this one i believe that he will finally consider retiring .

but lets see what happens as i am also waiting for the odds  .
