there is some controversy that will occur when messi gets the seventh Ballon d'or this because indeed to speak of performance no one doubts the ability of this player but the red card problem when he was still in Barcelona uniform might be one of the stumbling blocks for messi to get the title this season's ballon d'or.

This is a yearly award and not one that should consider the achievements during the whole career of the players, obviously Messi is one of the best players of all time but something like that should not count for this particular award, only what Messi did during this year should count, and since he switched teams, suffered and injury and his level has not been close to his best I think someone else should receive this award instead of him.

Of the 30 nominees for the 2021 Ballon d'Or, Lionel Messi is indeed the strongest candidate to win it. With his good performance with Barcelona
and the national team, it seems that it is difficult for other candidates to beat Messi. But I have a different opinion, I chose Jorginho who also
played amazingly with Chelsea and the Italian national team. Jorginho won the Champions League trophy with Chelsea and helped Italy win
the UEFA Euro. So with Jorginho's achievements he really deserves to be the winner of the 2021 Ballon d'Or, we'll see the results will be announced
on November 29 in Paris.

However I believe that he’ll not be winning it next month, but if he wins it then I’ll be absolutely happy, because he’s a magnificent player and definitely deserves to win this award at some stage of career.

I think what still was exciting was the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi. I mean will we really ever see two guys scoring 50 and 46 goals respectively in La Liga within a single season? The question was always out for man people who of the two is the GOAT. For me it is definitely Messi, but it was understandable when Ronaldo got the world soccer player trophy as well. He had performances that were out of this world as well.

Should it be Lewandowski, the choice would be ok. He is doing amazing on a constant level now for quite some time.

their performance is indeed quite good but only for individuals and last season their performance in the team was not good enough in statistics especially winning the title.
indeed everyone knows that they are GOATs that even it will be difficult to keep up with these two players.
but on the other hand his contribution to the team is also calculated and lewa is one of the players who has a pretty good contribution, on the other hand he also continues to improve his record

when talking about messi indeed everyone will know that he is a very extraordinary player.
but for this season's ballon d'or I think there are other players who deserve the award.
Time for new players to receive this award looks like it will only get better because this award was special for the previous few seasons as only 2 people fought for it. if not ronaldo yes messi but now it's different.

He is indeed under the two GOATS , lewy individual records isnt enough to put him on top of the list. in recent days colective records & achievements counted towards the ballon d'or qualification , domestically and nationally.
unfortunately lewy has not earned sufficient achievement in his national team , if only poland reached euro final or semifinal at least... he could get that ballon d'or award easily on top of messi and cristiano.

on this ballon d'or edition it seems jorginho favorited to grab the award as he won it all even though a lot of people would a bit disagree .. they have to accept it due the terms & qualification in it , i personally voted for kante for no reason.

@Alisha-k then you probably have not been following these awards. They're definitely about performance but in the end, it's still a voting contest and as such, there is some popularity contest going on there and a lot of sentiment behind those votes!

Keep also in mind that Lewandowski constantly delivers, this weekend he again scored two goals while Messi needed to leave the pitch during half-time. He still has his amazing moments, but it seems to me as if his speed gets lower over time and the number of amazing moments also is shrinking. He is still a terrific free-kick striker and he had some solid performances in the CL, but I don't think that will be enough.

I don't think that's real. We saw in previous leak Messi was on top, now they put Lewa. It seems like they try to lower the credibility of first leak, put another leak for confusion. I wouldn't be surprised if Messi or Lewandowski win it but it's better to wait award night than believing these so called "leaks" over the internet. I wish they give last year's award as well, that way we wouldn't see much controversy. Give one award to Lewandowski and other award to Messi, everybody would be okay with that.

Are you sure it is the first time? I thought it has happened before although I am not entirely sure if it was for the Ballon dor. Do you guys remember when the Champions League pairings were leaked, then it was claimed that those pairings are not true but when the lottery was done the pairings were actually true?
