4 nil is a very terrible score and a disgrace for Liverpool. Manchester city is clearly in control. Liverpool attacks are very weak and unimpactful and Manchester city defense deals with it beautifully.
The worst case to be beaten this way is that you end up overpressing to get a goal and leaving your defense open which is the case with Liverpool few moments ago and City almost extended their lead, but Konate intervened while Manchester city plays more comfortably focusing on defense and surprise counter attacks to increase their lead. This is a very painful loss , and the worst part is that it could  affect their next match (against PSG in the next day). Honestly,  I didn’t expect Liverpool to play that poorly . Manchester City greatly benefitted from the lack of coordination in the Liverpool defense. If they rested players so they could play the champions league, then they chose their priorities wrongly because they have more chances on this very cup than they would ever do in champions league, but their lineups are equipped with good players, so I wouldn't take that excuse.

It seems they're waking up now and manning up to City but the damage has already been done and City having comfortably dominated the match has removed some of their key players to rest.

Another terrible performance we saw from Liverpool. Their defense was badly broken. We have been seeing Liverpool's shaky defense for a long time.

Liverpool players can't do any advantage in this match. They managed to attack a lot. Created many opportunities. But they could not break the city's defense. Liverpool did not manage to score a single goal. Haaland scored a hat trick in this important match. Haaland scored both goals in the first half.

I agree with you that Liverpool wasn't joking in that match. They prepared it physically and I assume psychologically too, they came with a good squad, tried their best but failed super bad on scoring goals and in the defence line too. The result was heavy honestly. Two goals were scored in each half. I would like to blame Salah for not scoring the penalty but to be fair, it wouldn't change anything after receiving 4 goals..
Liverpool has to focus on UEFA Champions League game against PSG now and preferably to pick one of the four first spot on Premier League.

Many thought that Liverpool will be very serious in this match. Will try hard to win the match and the match will be competitive. But the scenario was completely opposite. Liverpool  tried to win. I am not surprised at all by the result. Liverpool have been able to perform well in the last few matches. We have seen their overall condition improve in the last few matches. But this season, Liverpool's performance against big or giant teams has not been good. Especially because of the  weakness of Liverpool's defense, they have fallen behind. We have seen the same thing in this match against manchester city. Bad defense is one of the main reasons for Liverpool's defeat. If they can not strengthen  their defense, they will lose badly in the upcoming matches of the premier league and the champions league matches.

I was pretty sure that Liverpool would lose. But I was not  prepared for them to concede such a humiliating defeat by such  a large margin. It was a completely unexpected result. Liverpool didn't score a single goal. I would say it's a shame for a renowned  team like liverpool.

I don't think liverpool gave their full effort in this match for a champions league match, judging by their  performance. Liverpool gave their full effort to win. But they could not succeed. They completely failed to break down city's  strong defense. Liverpool players managed 6 on target shots but the City goalkeeper saved every shot.
