Bitcoin creator is a mystery, while Some believe it was created by the West, others believe Russians created it while commoners believe is one man from Japan, so everyone just accept it. ETH has smartcontract that is fantastic, so many other platforms have a better smartcontract protocol than ETH network, currently, I don't trade on ETH network again because the fees are to high heavens, killing business. You should know that not everyone supports bitcoin. There are people that are against bitcoin. Some says it is too slow, that it has no any use case other than buying and selling while other blames it for "environmental damages". Most of them hates or doesn't support bitcoin because they really don't know how bitcoin works or only because they never invested in it when they had the chance to and now they are bitter. The same case for ETH, but ETH is shifting to PoS.

Because bitcoin uses blockchain technology, that made bitcoin more appealing than ethereum. Its been discussed often and yes since Mother of crypto currency goes first always. Yes its growth built confidence in everyone and it drew everyone into crypto platform. Yes Ethereum being the 2nd currency and ethereum network has brought in value to it. Yes we can hopefully invest in ETH. ETH will always follow Bitcoin's growth. Hence I would prefer Bitcoin.

Well, why not have both of them if you think that any of those are superior and you see the other is also superior in the sight of the other investors. But honestly, it's because being the first in the market is very important and bitcoin is like the gold of the crypto market. Or likely they've heard about it but always in doubt to know the pieces of information. Most of them thinks it's just an easy money and if you get it, it's the path to great wealth when totally it's not if they'll paper hand it in the short amount of time. Yeah Ethereum is unheard but if you'd match it with the use cases and asked developers in mind you'd be surprised on what would be the rating between Bitcoin and Ethereum.

But what you are saying is something relevant to what we are having in crypto because all of us can only speculate the prices and future value but none of us can completely give the exact price in the coming time.

agree, it is clear that we and all of us also know that currently and possibly in the future bitcoin and ethereum will remain the most popular. bitcoin will remain a very high chance and many are looking for it to be a very attractive investment but ethereum also cannot be ignored is a coveted after bitcoin. even so if you compare bitcoin with ethereum it is clearly difficult and nothing can beat bitcoin.
maybe there are many other altcoins that want to replace ethereum but none are trying to want to replace bitcoin, therein lies the glaring difference.

Comparing these two is like comparing apples to elevators.

Bitcoin is a distributed ledger intended on providing fast, cheap, and transparent transactions.

Ethereum is a smart-contract platform that has completely different principles, goals, and tokenomics.

The issue is that ethereum is trying to solve issues that can be solved in a much more efficient way without the use of ANY blockchain. Bitcoin's only issue to solve was the double spending problem and taking the governments power to control/manipulate the native currency.

Ethereum is completely and totally theoretical and has not been shown to provide any real use as of today.

Ethereum also has its flaws, and, from a security perspective, the smart contracts used in the Ethereum network are very susceptible to hacks and exploits, which occur every month in different protocols. More recently, Ethereum has been moving toward deflation, but bitcoin was deflationary from the beginning. Bitcoin doesn't always have democratic transfer fees, but Ethereum has even higher fees, especially when the Ethereum network gets spammed with all sorts of transactions related to different tokens.

Still, I think the purpose of these two assets is different. Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency investment asset, and Ethereum is more of a coin for interacting with different ecosystems in the crypto industry.

This only applies back on the 2016 era when cryptos are not really known. The number of coins is not huge as today and the only popular coin that time is only bitcoin but now that cryptos have exploded, we have now tons of new additional coins and tokens are now born aside from altcoins. Most new comers now will not now bitcoin first but they will soon know it if they will stay here because they will also research further in order to improve their crypto knowledge.

Technology of bitcoin is not comparable to altcoins because bitcoins technology is too superior. Ethereum and btc are great contenders but eth were left behind. There's no good things that happened to eth anymore.
