First off I will correct the impression in case of any that success isn't actually a guarantee when it concerns Bitcoin accumulation... But then again there is a higher chance of success when certain things are in place .. So simply see this things.thats needs to be in place as the other additional requirements which is needed alongside knowledge which could increase the chances of success in the long run... There is the need for making use of discretionary income, being patient, having a safety net(emergency funds), building reserve funds, having a long term mindset, act of avoiding panic selling and whatnots.
All you have just stated so far is cool and I have no reason to argue on that. But what I what to add is that in as much as bitcoin investment has proven over the years to be outstanding, and also a lather to success especially for long term holders. It is still important we invest only what we can afford to lose to avoid future worries. However, I'm not questioning its ability of pushing someone towards success but for clarity sake and for lasting peace of mind in our investment journey, investing from our discretionary funds remain the best funds to invest with. Many people here are very optimistic about the future of Bitcoin, I also and can ultimately benefit from investing with this belief. But even then, there should be a separate fund so that if the price of Bitcoin falls by 50-70% in the middle, someone may not have to sell Bitcoin at the worst possible time to meet emergency expenses, repay debt or meet any other important need. So I support his saying “Invest as much as you can afford to lose”. However, newbies should not misunderstand this because losing does not mean that the money will actually be lost, but rather it is a way of conveying the risk of it.

Which bitcoin do you want to withdraw when you don't have any. The best thing is to just start accumulating immediately, provided your discretionary income is available. Selling of your bitcoin should be the last thing which you can learn later, when the right time comes. However, if you are talking about transferring it to your noncustodial wallet. It's not necessary in the beginning because you have to buy first and as you are DCAing every week, you can learn that because you need to transfer it from the third party custody to your own self custody wallet when the amount is up to $500 or more.

There are many people who still understand the concepts of technology but they will still be making unexpected mistakes and poor decisions when the market looks stranger, that's why it's good to have financial plans before investing into bitcoin, keeping aside your cashflow or emergency funds are important in order to be free from being forced to sell, as no one can tell when it would be recovered, let not only put our goals on purchasing bitcoin, but also our patience and the financial disciplines. A long-term investment decision should be the first priority of every investor, most especially the newbies of now adays whose aims are only on making a quick profits after few days of investment.

I was of the opinion that the idea of investing what the person can afford to lose was wrong but this year made me realize that statement is right. Even though we are not praying for the worst to happen, we must understand that nothing is certain when it has to do with investing as there is always some form of risk involved. For instance, there were investors who did everything correctly but fell victim to the coldcard vulnerability, something that is completely not their fault but it happened and they lost their money. If such investor put money that he cannot afford to lose, that would not be easy for him to bear.
I prefer saying "something I can afford" than something I can afford to lose, but I don't think all these should be a problem as long as we are investing with our discreationary income which is either seen as our left over funds or what we can afford, the example you gave using coldcard implies that anything is possible which is why the idea of using what you can afford while investing in Bitcoin is very important, to avoid being hard on yourself when the unexpected occurs, I think being part of Bitcointalk forum especially taking part in discussion on threads like this one, has helped in shaping our minds on the right things to do when investing in Bitcoin. Not just in Bitcoin, but in every other investment, anything can happen. In the outside world, we have seen how potential and reliable investments can still end up failing. No investment is 100% guaranteed to be successful because anything can happen along the way. When I was new to Bitcoin some years ago, it was always advisable for investors to invest an amount they can afford. This is not because Bitcoin investment is uncertain, but because anything can happen. What happened with the Coldcard hardware wallet is a lesson for investors to embrace technical research to understand more about the security aspects of wallets.

Anyone concerned about learning how to withdraw first before starting has other motives, because It sounds more like they are preparing to trade. If the goal is long term investing, I don’t see why not knowing how to withdraw should delay from starting. And if you think folks need to basic knowledge before starting, you’re joking. So you really think a person will understand Bitcoin without making the first move? Bitcoin knowledge is a continuous process. You learn while accumulating and get to experience how the market works. You don't need to know everything before you start, even if it is small amount you can afford. What a person actually needs to do is calculate his discretionary income and work with what he can comfortably afford simple.

Learning withdrawal and at the same time learning Bitcoin investment process are literally nice idea to a very reasonable extent. Just the postulation of JJG's on outline of Bitcoin Investment Idea, is an educative idea to work with especially on Bitcoin investment. And investment needs quiet time and best commitment to have the needed knowledge to help escape losing capital investment rather than optimizing in profit making. So, I see that the best option should be learning the withdrawal methods before going into investment to gain at least the necessary basic knowledge of do and not in Bitcoin trading system. And if learning and investment basic knowledge are being split into categories the knowledge will appreciate and carry both task at the same time.

They get enough time to analyze the market due to the lack of mental stress. Conversely traders are stressed because of the high possibility of losing funds in trading.

All those are would be learnt in the process of getting knowledge about Bitcoin, the investor would get to know about accumulation, strategies for it, wallet security, withdrawal/ when to do it and so on, since the process is very long an investor shouldn't be waiting to learn all of it but just understand how to buy, figure their discretionary funds and start buying. Every other thing would be learnt along the line, even if the investor makes mistake on the long run, it's not the end of the investment but the person would learn from it and take corrections. Waiting to gain all the knowledge before investing can seem like a form of procrastination cause it doesn't stop the person from buying.

Start Bitcoin after learning the basics about Bitcoin.
The basis upon which a new investor can start investing in bitcoin is the availability of a discretionary income. Starting to invest in bitcoin is the ability of a newbie to figure out a discretionary income to use and buy bitcoin and HODL. When you say newbies should start bitcoin after learning the basics of bitcoin investment could make newbies think they might have to enroll in a study to learn the basics of bitcoin investment before they can start investing or buying their first bitcoin meanwhile they only need just a discretionary income to use and start investing in bitcoin. They get enough time to analyze the market due to the lack of mental stress.
A long term investor do not need to analyze the market before they can buy bitcoin. A long term investor who is focused on regularly figuring out a discretionary income to use and buy bitcoin must not have to be analyzing the market before buying because the market is very unpredictable. With the DCA they can buy bitcoin at any market price and HODL provided they a discretionary income.

There is nothing wrong with learning how to withdraw Bitcoin because how to withdraw Bitcoin is an important part of digital finance but we think that at the initial stage, investors should focus only on depositing Bitcoin rather than analyzing this complex issue. We probably all know about this basic method of withdrawal that is depositing Bitcoin on a centralized exchange i.e. any exchange and selling it in a local currency and the other is buying Bitcoin within the exchange using local currency through P2P and transferring from one wallet to another. Honestly it seems to me the most important aspect is that if someone has discretionary income, they should start investing immediately and once they have a certain high amount of Bitcoin deposited, they should transfer it to a non-custodial wallet, maybe it will be possible to learn this while saving Bitcoin regularly.

That's wrong mate. What do you want to learn how to withdraw your bitcoin to where? Since, you said it's part of the basic knowledge which I disagree with you. Which bitcoin do you want to withdraw when you don't have any.
Bro learning about bitcoin and accumulating bitcoin are not mutually exclusive to each other so in otherword’s, a person doesn’t need to first own bitcoin before they can learn how withdrawal and self custody works; that’s just like saying a person doesn’t need to learn how to use a bank until after they receive their first salary, that’s ridiculous. If at all, learning about all these things can still even help the person not to make mistakes whenever they eventually have a meaningful amount to withdraw; i’ll use myself as an example, i already knew how to make withdrawals even before i started to own any meaningful amount of bitcoin, but i didn’t just go around withdrawing anyhow i like when i eventually did own some tangible amount of sats. The best thing is to just start accumulating immediately, provided your discretionary income is available. Selling of your bitcoin should be the last thing which you can learn later, when the right time comes.
Learning how to withdraw or move your coins to your own wallet does not translate to selling so don’t mix them up. Self custody is gonna teach a person how ownership works but you see selling!!!, it’s an entirely different decision. However, if you are talking about transferring it to your noncustodial wallet. It's not necessary in the beginning because you have to buy first and as you are DCAing every week, you can learn that because you need to transfer it from the third party custody to your own self custody wallet when the amount is up to $500 or more.
Here you go again making arbitrary suggestions. Where is it written that a person needs to wait for their sats to reach $500 before they can transfer it to their non custodial wallet?… to the best of my knowledge, the point at which a person should consider something like this should depend on withdrawal fees, the person’s financial situation, custody risks and, most importantly, whether the person actually understands how to secure their wallet. Not based on what you think is a universal rule.

You can only say what you know and not what you don't know. It's good that as a long-term bitcoin investor, you have a good UTXO management to avoid you having too many many small small UTXO that can later in future eat almost all your profit if transaction fees becomes very high. Just the way you are setting up an emergency funds to take care of unforeseen emergency that's how you need to prevent too many small UTXO since, you are DCAing if not you might regret it in future. I believe that this has been said several times in the forum that bitcoin transaction fee is based on the space it occupies in the blockchain which is the transaction size. If you have $30, $30, $50 $30, $$50, $80, $100, $30, $50, $50, $50, and $50. It will cost you more to transfer $500 at once and that will also connect all your address to one person compared to when you just have only one UTXO as $600. I still stand on my ground that to withdraw your bitcoin is a practical thing and not theory.

If the basic concepts are clear . it is possible to start investing with small amounts. and create opportunities for learning along the way. Real experience teaches a different kind of lesson than books or theoretical knowledge. An investor can understand the fluctuations of the market, the weaknesses of his strategy by experiencing it in reality. If he can identify and correct mistakes, then those mistakes can become an important lesson for the future. Sometimes, some consequences of mistakes made due to ignorance of safety, risk, and the basic rules of investment cannot be easily corrected. Especially, one should not invest with money that may be needed for daily needs or emergency expenses. It is important to start with small amounts within one's capabilities and learn continuously along with investing. It is unnecessary to postpone investment for years while waiting to know everything, and it is also unwise to jump into investment quickly without knowing anything.

But still don’t get Carried away with the possible return, still make sure you are investing with your discretionary income, because at the end profit is not certain or guaranteed in bitcoin investment.
The risk management of every investment or anything that involves risk whether high or low is investing with the discretionary funds cause if the investment doesn't go as planned there won't be too much worry compared to when the investor uses money meant for essential needs to put into the investment. For instance if you use money meant for feeding to invest and there’s a dip you'll be very emotional and frustrated cause you'll be thinking of how to settle your needs, but when you use leftover funds (discretionary funds) for investment you won't feel the need to worry much cause your essential are settled or the money meant to settle it is still intact.

This is wrong conclusion because you are invariably saying that getting basic knowledge is not good for starters. If a new investor does not know how to withdraw and goes ahead to invest in Bitcoin, he will likely store the Bitcoin in the exchange where he purchased them or withdraw and risk sending the coins to a wrong wallet. Both of these are dangerous and can mess with the investmemt process. To successfully be know how to invest in Bitcoin, it is important to at least know how to buy and how to withdraw to be able to safely store the coins.

There is nothing wrong in learning how to withdraw our bitcoin and as a matter of fact that should be among the basic knowledge that one ought to know before going into bitcoin investment. however, knowing how to withdraw our bitcoin does not mean someone should focus on withdrawing any small profit they see in their bitcoin otherwise it becomes trading and it is not advisable for newbie to be trading bitcoin because there is a high chances of them losing their funds.
What is the need of learning how to make withdraw when Their Bitcoin portfolio is empty? What we are talking about is ways in which a beginner can get started with their bitcoin investment of which learning how to make withdraw is the last thing a beginner need to learn since the goal is long term so they have no business with making withdraw because if a beginner should learn about making withdraw in their early stage, they can decide to start making experiment by withdrawing their investment to see if it would work because some beginners are so naive. that is why I don't quite agree with you when you said that there's nothing wrong in learning about withdraw. It's good to learn about withdraw that's after we must have gotten all the necessary informations that is required to get started with our Bitcoin investment but when a beginner leave to learn the things that is required to get started and start looking into how they can withdraw is obviously a miss of priority.

There is a middle ground over here, as a beginners they don’t need to understand or master Everthing about bitcoin first before starting. But what is very important is that that should understand the basic steps most especially when securing or moving their coins. Also learning how withdrawal works does not mean that they are planing to sell now. Just as learning how buy a small amount on exchange and later learning how to move it to your wallet, the most important part is to learn first. To avoid a costly mistake of making mistake during large amount of transaction, learning and also accumulating should work in hand not that one need to wait first.

Yes, it's very true that success is never guaranteed, not only with Bitcoin but every other investment cause the future can't be exactly predicted, the reason why people so much believe in Bitcoin is because of how it's been very successful in the past, it made them believe that there's a potential to do better in future with more adoption. Knowing about Bitcoin is not enough if there's no convinction, someone can know about it to an extent but not fully convinced that it's a good investment option but with conviction it would make the person hold longer instead of deviating along the line.
That’s just the fact about the Bitcoin a lots of people believe that the Bitcoin can do more than how it did in past years, the future market can multiply by what we didn’t expect. Which is why up to today people are still purchasing the Bitcoin, and they will never stop that how they will continue forever. Because the Bitcoin has been the best coins in all over the world. Yeah In every investments there risk’s which is why they have not guaranteed, but the Bitcoin is more better than any others coins like the altcoins that with the little time they will lose value from the market. That’s why people preferred to invest in only the Bitcoin because of potential volatility in the future market. Nothing last forever, so Bitcoin will not exist one day. But without believing in its future, I don’t think people would still be interested to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin history has shown how far and strong it has come. We see how the market is reacting these days. Bitcoin price went above $80k yesterday, and now it is trading below that same level. We cannot compare Bitcoin with other shitcoins where people lose money, even with the effort of timing the market. Profits are not guaranteed in Bitcoin. Some people may assume that since Bitcoin has less risk than other coins, perhaps profit is guaranteed. Real Investors are still holding because of the good impact Bitcoin has made in many years now. If Bitcoin is at this level right now, then imagine what it could be like in the next 5 to 10 years.

If Bitcoin is at this level right now, then imagine what it could be like in the next 5 to 10 years. I agree with the main point here. There is no guarantee that Bitcoin will make a profit in the future based on its past performance. However, its long history and its survival for so many years have created the confidence of many long term investors and there is no denying that. And going above $80K and then falling back down is nothing new for Bitcoin. This is how the market moves. For me it is more important to keep your plan in place and not panic if the market goes bad than to overthink short term price movements. Because conviction about Bitcoin is not built in a day, it comes with experience over time. No one can really say for sure where Bitcoin will go in the next 5-10 years. But if you have long term faith then it is much more sensible for me to accumulate regularly according to your ability and be patient following the DCA rather than trying to make a lot of profit in a short time. I am personally optimistic about Bitcoin's long term potential. But being optimistic and assuming a profit is guaranteed are not the same thing. There will be risk there will be volatility. I think we should invest for the long term with these things in mind

You're right, although it's not something very tough that would make people spending too much time trying to understand, i know some people can be very dull in learning but the bssics of Bitcoin is something they should easily figure out within days before the can start investing according to what they have for discretionary while they continue learning. "Experience is the best teacher" so if someone is buying and holding Bitcoin, it would be better to understand Bitcoin investment in the process, it’s better than waiting to understand everything before investing, moreover the market is still volatile so while waiting to learn to a good extent if would have added lots of value.
