Why will some one even think of keeping their emergency funds in bitcoin, emergency is something that should be attend to with urgency so having your emergency funds in bitcoin will just get it delayed, and again bitcoin price might be low by the time such person may want to use the emergency funds.

Emergency funds should be kept where it can be gotten without much of delay, meanwhile the best place to keep our emergency funds should be in our local fiat so it can be easily get to when needed.
I think greed and ignorance is the reason why some people feels emergency fund can be invested in Bitcoin. Some investors dont understand the risk behind this, thru think it is something that they csn try and succeed with it at the end. Bitcoin investment is what things are suppose to be done properly and if you try to do things just the way you want you may end up making mistakes that can affect the investment but some people dont understand this risk of investing emergency fund.

It seems like a basic knowledge that normal guys should be able to figure out, and sure, I don't expect that guys are geniuses, but some things are logical when we think about them, and yeah, maybe we come to bitcoin and our math skills are not very good, yet if we are buying bitcoin on a regular basis, then we might need to make sure that we improve our math so that we do not make any mistakes, so basic knowledge becomes being able to add up all of our income and add up all of our expenses, and then to subtract our expenses from our income in order to make sure that we have left over funds that we are able to use to invest, save and discretionarily consume.

Invest and save are two different categories.  Invest  in bitcoin.  Save in dollars (or whatever might be the fiat that our bills are paid in).
You are right, the main goal of saving is not growth but availability, so it only right to save in a normal value because our emergency needs will come in normal value. So saving in bitcoin is only risky because of it volatility in nature. Investing is about growth, while saving is about stability and availability. So if your basic needs like utilities and other needs are in Dollar then it best ti save in dollar.

So invest in assets you believe will appreciate and save in the currency of your liabilities. Sometimes I think people  struggle with the math just like you said.

I think everyone with the mindset of investing their emergency funds should think about what would happen to their investments if an unexpected situations happen and the price of Bitcoin dropped far below where they bought it? Do they really think they would succeed with that?

The purpose of investing in Bitcoin is to be in profit, no investor hope for a loss, so why taking unnecessary risks to invest with our emergency funds? The market is unpredictable, no one can tell the next move. If anyone takes the risk with their emergency funds, they might end up selling at loss because they have no option to solve their problem.

I would prefer to keep my emergency funds somewhere that I can easily use when I need it than keep them in Bitcoin.
The emergency fund should be kept in cash flow. That is, to ensure that you can use it immediately at the time of need, this fund is prohibited from being invested anywhere. But many people think that the emergency fund has been lying around for a long time and the price of Bitcoin has decreased, so they want to invest with the emergency fund. But we must remember that emergencies can never come in advance and it can be needed at any time. Due to which, whether it is investment or any other matter, the emergency fund should never be broken. When a person does not have an emergency fund, if an emergency situation arises at that moment, he has to face various difficulties. In that case, if he does not have any other financial savings except Bitcoin investment, he will be forced to sell his Bitcoin investment and if the price of Bitcoin is low at that moment, he will have to sell it at a loss. Therefore, to protect the investment portfolio, it is necessary to ensure that money is saved in the emergency fund along with the investment.

To have all our emergency funds in Bitcoin isn't  that a good idea in my opinion, since anything can happen due to Bitcoin volatile nature, maybe you can decide to have small potion of it in Bitcoin and the rest should be in Fiat Incase of any urgent needs arise.
You are speaking from both sides of your mouth, Emergency fund should not be kept in bitcoin or any volatile assets so that volatility doesn't affect it when we need it to solve urgent needs.

Keeping it in more than one form is good, but we can always choose less volatile packages like stable coins, government bonds which are easily liquidated, in bank and in physical cash.
It is reasonable to suggest that you save your emergency fund in several ways instead of keeping it all in one place. Because if you keep it in one place, you have the opportunity to use the necessary money from other places if a temporary problem arises. However, do not think that if the value of an asset is relatively stable, it will be usable like cash in all situations.

You may have your emergency fund in the bank, some in cash, and some in assets that are relatively stable but require a certain process to sell. But you may need money within a few hours for emergency medical treatment. In that case, the stability of the asset will not help you meet your immediate needs. However, if your emergency fund already has a sufficient amount of easily accessible cash and you also have additional savings, then the decision to save that extra part in another way may be different.

It would not be right to conclude that someone is looking for an excuse to avoid buying Bitcoin just because they want to have a backup of 6 months of expenses. Instead, you need to consider the financial situation of the investor.

I think the person is actually using it as an excuse not to start investing in bitcoin. tell me the more reason why someone will want to build 6 months of back up funds before starting bitcoin investment, the person is simply using that as an excuse to delay getting started with bitcoin investment. If an investors income is able to sort out his basic needs and still have a discretionary income which he’s trying to use and build a 6 months back up funds, then I  see no reason why the investor cannot start buying bitcoin as well. Back up funds, emergency funds or reserve funds all are being built from the discretionary income of an investor and we only need a discretionary income to start Bitcoin investment and at such not having 6 months of back up funds shouldn’t be an excuse for delay getting started with bitcoin investment. It’s important to start once discretionary income is available after sorting out basic expenses and as time goes on they can be building their various back up funds.

Giving extra importance to the backup fund is just an excuse to delay investment. If the backup fund is created for the purpose of investment, then where is your investment fund?

The point is not that a janitor is needed to guard the house, but you have appointed a janitor before the house is built! So what is the job of the janitor? You can appoint him during the construction of the house so that he can guard the house under construction.

Creating a backup fund for investment purposes is certainly a good step, but it cannot be done by ignoring the investment fund. If someone has the means to create a backup fund, it means that he has discretionary money, instead of using the entire amount in the backup fund, it may be wise to invest some of that money and create a backup fund with some. It is necessary to think about creating both funds with the necessary importance.

Having an emergency fund scattered around different places could be a reasonable choice since it gives us the option to have more choice in case of emergency. However, what matter most is still whether we can get hold of our money at any times. Some assets are not liquid, let alone exchange to cash. Even some assets are liquid, their prices are quite stable so that it might take some time before it could be transferred or sold. Hence, I think the goal of an emergency fund should be liquidity instead of profitability. There are other investment channels for us to utilize, yet not for emergency cash.

Good points, and indeed this is the real purpose of an emergency fund. We don't always know when an emergency is going to happen or how quickly we need access to cash. For example, you might need to pay an emergency medical bill with cash in hand, or you might be required to wait hours to sell an asset. For that reason, sufficient cash or cash equivalents should take precedence over any other longer-term asset in the portfolio. Other assets can be important for having extra protection for savings, but shouldn't be a substitute if short term cash is needed. For me, I think the optimal balance largely depends on individual circumstances, overhead, and responsibilities, but once the basics are covered with emergency needs, the rest can be easily secured in other comparable shorter term assets with less volatility.

Emergency requires readily available money to solve, so if your keeping your emergency funds in any other asset other than cash at hand or bank, you are wrong. Because it might happen that when the emergency hits, and you want to convert that your asset you think is relatively stable to cash, and you don’t see buyers, or the available buyers are willing to pay lesser price, you will end up being stranded.

To have all our emergency funds in Bitcoin isn't  that a good idea in my opinion, since anything can happen due to Bitcoin volatile nature, maybe you can decide to have small potion of it in Bitcoin and the rest should be in Fiat Incase of any urgent needs arise.

I don’t know how many times they will tell you guys this thing. All your emergency funds should be kept in fiat only. No portion of your emergency should be kept in bitcoin. Your emergency funds have nothing to do with bitcoin, it is only your investment that you are holding for long term is the only one that you should hold in bitcoin.  I don’t know what you want to achieve by keeping part of your emergency funds in bitcoin, but I can tell you for free that it is not a good idea and you will regret it.

Common issue with some people. They think that its still good to hide their emergency funds on their investment like Bitcoin, because for hoping that they can also earn a profit if the price pumps.

But the problem is emergency situation is unpredictable. Then imagine all the hustle experience they could get, if they are in actual situation.

So the ideal thing to do with those matters, is to keep it in fiat. Then separate their rainy day funds for risky matters. They could stay away with more bigger issues, if they know how to handle their money.
The biggest mistake is to treat emergency funds and investment capital the same. The main function of an emergency fund is to provide financial security. The purpose of investment is to increase wealth in the long term. Money that may be needed at any moment should not be kept in an asset whose market value constantly fluctuates. This risk is higher in the case of volatile assets like Bitcoin. Emergency fund money should not be judged only by profit. Rather, how quickly the money can be used when needed and how stable its value will be is more important. But in the case of emergency funds, immediate liquidity and price stability should be given more priority.

An investor should divide his money and manage it for different purposes. For investing in Bitcoin, money that will not be needed in the short term and there will be no obligation to sell it even if there is a major decline in the market price. As important as increasing wealth through investment is, it is also important to protect that asset from unnecessary losses in adverse situations.

I think the issue is that there are people who don't have control over themselves when it comes to keeping money in a place that will be very accessible for them that is why some people feel or think keeping emergency funds in cash is not safe and so, the best thing to do as an investor is to keep or save your emergency funds wherever one think is convenient and okay for them since everyone are not the same when it comes to handling things. The most important thing is that make sure to keep your emergency funds safe.

Emergency funds are suppose to be saved in the bank because were exactly do you want to save them because this ia something you can use anytime so there is no need keeping it in any  form of currency, and it is something investors can not do without, there should be clarification when keeping an assets your funds should be separated from one another, because you might end up even spending your capital together with your emergency funds so all this needs to be understood, and as for me people need to know how important it is for you to have an emergency fund as an investor, most investors that don't have it end up doing one thing which is them selling off their assets so they need to take things more seriously when it comes to the emergency funds for more convince and it helps by helping you during emergencies.

. Emergency funds should be kept in cash.

Not just in cash, but some of it should also be kept in the bank for security purposes, because it's quite dangerous to be having a large amount of money kept in cash , since it may attract robbers to your home, if news get out that you have such amount of money on you. The only reason all the money should not be kept in the bank is that you can be locked out by your bank during emergencies, which is why some of it is kept in cash, just in case of such thing playing out, but be rest assured that keeping your emergency funds in fiat currency is the best.
Since the goal is to address life's emergencies, choosing fiat cash is clearly a good option. But if that's not the case, other options might be much better. As for saving these funds, of course, everyone can separate them into several options, including a smaller amount via bank transfer. The rest can simply be put into Bitcoin as a future investment, although the risks should be fully understood, as any investment nowadays carries a fairly balanced risk.

Don't be retarded @G_Besar.

Emergency funds (or back up funds) do not go in bitcoin.

You seem to be trying to rationalize overinvesting in bitcoin, and then getting stuck in a situation in which you have loss of income and/or increases in your expenses, and at the same time, you have absolutely no back up funds (except your bitcoin) because you were too retarded to keep extra funds.

In other words, your failure/refusal to keep sufficient back up funds caused your to have to sell some or all of your bitcoin at a time that was not of your own choosing, and the main reason was based on your own mistake and your own greed rather than your figuring out a reasonable balance that would put you in a place in which you would never have to sell your bitcoin absent some major emergency, but instead, the fact that you had little to no preparations and little to no back up funds, because you put those back up funds into bitcoin, you ended up selling mot if not all of your bitcoin due to a condition that you caused by engaging in gambling rather than investing.

This is an investing thread, and I recommend against gambling and/or trading with bitcoin..

Indeed it's greediness that has led to such retardation that sounds or seems wise but total retardation that's always ready to offer it's outcome of "had I know" regrets . The thinking that putting emergency or backup funds into Bitcoin will make it more valuable makes people like G_Besar put or advice others to put emergency or backup funds into Bitcoin without totally accepting that immediately emergency funds goes into Bitcoin, it becomes investment eventually which is not guaranteed to start with and when the need for these funds finally arrives at anytime, it can lead to total investment failure, that's situation whereby all Bitcoin holding have to be sold to settle or handle the emergency.

One cannot be on the path of investing and then adopt gambling practices...And one can be said to be very well gambling if he or she places less of their priority on Emergency funds/ or backup funds... Emergency funds are set up so as to protect one's investment in cases of emergency situations...And so it is very mandatory as an investor coz it gives one something to fall back on whenever one experience say a sudden job loss or any unexpected emergencies...And without the availability of that funds, folks would definitely be left with no other choice other than to liquidate their holdings before their intended timelines and that could be very problematic simply because one may be forced to sell at probably a time when Bitcoin may have dipped below their initial buying price which is really a huge loss to them...

So it is always good that a balance is struck between accumulating Bitcoin and then building backup funds...Both goals can be worked towards simultaneously by the investor simply by making his investment while also building their emergency funds alongside it... They both should always have an equal importance in the minds of investors, no need for trade-offs..

Additionally, the volatility of Bitcoin makes it a no go area when one is considering building emergency funds... Emergency funds should always be kept in a form like Fiat that are easily accessible whenever the need for it arises...

I don't quite agree with you when you Said that for a guy to decide building 6 months of backup funds before starting Bitcoin investment means that he's taking excuses to delay getting started with Bitcoin investment, first you need to understand that a guy that does not take Bitcoin investment serous will not think about building backup funds.

The thing is some folks has been exposed to the risk that is involved in bitcoin investment that is why many prefer building their backup funds to a certain level before getting started with their bitcoin investment, and sometimes the fault may well come from the source they got their information from as I know that those who learnt from this forum wouldn't want to give priority to building their backup funds instead of getting started then on the process of buying Bitcoin they can start looking for ways to figure out their backup funds. it is the best approach rather than giving priority to something that may not be necessary for the main time because I have seen cases where a guy runs out of money on the process of trying to build backup funds, and the backup funds has been there doing nothing;  I'm sure inflation must have eating the money up by now. but imagine if he had started investing in bitcoin, even if he runs out of money he will see something to boast about and seeing that there's improvement in his investment would probably trigger him to work  hard to get money so he could create backup funds and also continue his bitcoin investment.

Investing doesn't have to be a trial and error process. If you don't understand yet, it's better to start with someone who understands Bitcoin firsthand. This way, even if you're just starting out you won't make mistakes that lead to greed which can become a burden before you even start investing.

Getting started investing into bitcoin is important, and all that is needed to get started investing in bitcoin is discretionary funds, so don't be trying to suggest that guys need to be spending a lot of time learning things that are not necessary to learn.

In this thread, we (mostly me) emphasize getting the fuck started sooner rather than fucking around waiting or trying to figure things out.

Of course, guys use their own judgement in regards to what they know and what they don't know and even use their own judgement in regards to what they need to know.

Guys also can choose their starting amount based on their comfort level, and frequently I like to use an example of a guy who is new to bitcoin and he figured out that he could buy $100 per bitcoin every week because he has at least $100 in discretionary funds every week, yet since the guy might not know shit about bitcoin, he purposefully decides to get started buying $30 per week in bitcoin and to learn as he goes, and sure, if he ends up buying bitcoin for 10 weeks and realize that he totally fucked up with what he did, then he ended up losing $300 over 10 weeks, and guys should be able to determine that $300 would be a reasonable loss - even though surely no guy invests in anything, including bitcoin, with intentions to lose money, so of course, he is ongoingly doing his best and exercising what he considers to be good judgement based on what he knows and his comfort level... and at the same time, he is building both his bitcoin and his back up funds and making adjustments to his approach as he goes.

The reason for ignorance is part of someone who does not want to fight for good so they are easier to say that because there are factors that make them immediately try without any further knowledge and many people why do not experience many risks, because they realize that in investing in Bitcoin more or less they have to know the way and knowledge so that their continuation will depend on their personality and it feels like it will be difficult to continue when they experience risks more quickly which makes their fighting spirit in investing decrease as they quickly get risks and these risks are actually the ones they create themselves before starting because they already know that they lack knowledge but they do not aim for knowledge from those who have long started in the world of investing in Bitcoin.

Whatever you are saying is confusing, and of course, a beginner to bitcoin may well have a lot of areas that he needs to learn about that relate to bitcoin buying and also cashflow management and also managing his psychology in regards to what he is doing and what he is balancing in his choosing how much bitcoin to buy each week.  Furthermore, the guy does not need to know all of his 9 individual factors with specifics because he is learning them as he goes, and hopefully exercising good judgement in accordance to his own particular financial and psychological circumstances.

[edited out]
Since there is an issue of inflation, it is said to keep an amount equivalent to 3 to 6 months of expenses as a backup fund. I do not think there is a need to keep more than this.

In this thread, I have repeatedly asserted that guys better have pretty big justifications for holding 6 months of cash, so it seems a bit inappropriate to be talking nonsense about keeping 6 months or more worth of cash unless either your bitcoin stash is already quite big or you have some pretty damned good reasons.... so let's talk about getting our back up funds up to 3 months. .and then going from there, since it is quite misleading to be proclaiming it is a good idea to have 6 months worth of cash.. especially given how fast cash is debasing in value and poor people will be spending their full time accumulating cash without every buying any bitcoin if they are trying to keep their cash up to that high amount.
I see guys who are mostly interested in building their backup funds up to 6 months as just making up reasons to stack up cash in preference to their Bitcoin investment. IMO they're really getting their priorities wrong. Your emergency fund shouldn't have more priority than your Bitcoin investment.

Now coming to the aspect of having enough Bitcoin, it's more than obvious that most guys following up on this thread have little stash, so it becomes important that more focus should be given to accumulating Bitcoin, while also building backup funds alongside it. 3 months is enough, funds should be redirected into increasing aggressiveness in buying Bitcoin. It's never a good decision to stack up cash unnecessarily because it would still lose value, Bitcoin should have more priority because it has more chances of preserving and increasing the value of our funds on the long-run.
It would not be right to conclude that someone is looking for an excuse to avoid buying Bitcoin just because they want to have a backup of 6 months of expenses. Instead, you need to consider the financial situation of the investor. Maybe two people have the same monthly expenses.

I am starting to get irritated by the ongoing presumption that it is normal to talk about having 6 months of cash as if it were normal, when it is not.

There are not very many guys who need 6 months of cash.  It is rare so in this thread, we should stop referring to the idea of keeping 6 months of back up funds as if it is normal, when it is not..

Sure, there are some folks who have a lot of bitcoin, and/or a lot of wealth, and/or a lot of discretionary income that is coming to them on a regular basis, yet these are not normal (or typical) people.

One of the main presumptions of this thread is that guys are both building up their back up funds and building up their bitcoin at the same time.

Yeah, sure there are some guys that have extra resources to draw from, yet since those guys are not typical guys, then participants in this thread better get the fuck with it and highlight that the person is in a special circumstances instead of ongoingly presenting the keeping of 6 months in cash as either normal or even a good practice for the overwhelming majority of normies, including the overwhelming majority of guys participating in this thread (or likely to read it).  Yeah, if guys have different circumstances or circumstances that justify their keeping so much goddamned cash, then they will know their circumstances and be able to adjust. Otherwise, it seems more responsible to be trying to talk about and address the trials and tribulations of normal people rather than fantasizing the first world dilemmas of already rich people who already have a lot of options and part of the demonstration that they have a lot of options is because they have six months of cash sitting around, which again is not normal or typical.
n this thread, we should

But one of them has a regular job, other family members also earn, and if they lose their job, they are likely to find a new job quickly. But the other person may have an irregular income, a lot of family responsibilities, and is also at risk of not being able to work for several months. Do you think the same amount of emergency fund would be enough for both of them?

Of course, guys with irregular income and/or expenses, or even known upcoming drops in income and/or known upcoming expenses, they need to keep more money on hand, but I doubt that the extra money needs to be referred to as "emergency funds" especially if they know that they are going to suffer from loss of income and/or increases in expenses.

There are surely also guys who might know that they might lose their job at any time, and maybe that whatever skills, experience and/or education that they have is not very marketable..so yeah, there are surely a lot of normal people who struggle to ongoingly maintain discretionary funds coming in and being available that allow them to consistently and persistently invest into bitcoin.

For the first person, maybe three months of expenses may be enough, according to his opinion. But for the second person, if he wants to keep an emergency fund of six months to ensure his safety, it may be difficult to call it unreasonable.

I am starting to wonder maybe I should just delete your post?  Are we talking about bitcoin investing here or what?

Yeah, it tends to take a long time to build up bitcoin and also to build up back up funds.  You have only been registered here for slightly over a year. Have you been buying bitcoin and building up back up funds during that time, or just fantasizing about how much back up funds that you feel that you need, and you have almost absolutely no bitcoin?  Maybe you need to give some kind of an example rather than just spouting out ideas that it is normal to be starting out bitcoin with 3-6 months of back ups.. and also I had already mentioned that if a guy has 3 months of back up funds and absolutely no bitcoin, then maybe he needs to put half of his 3 months of back up funds into bitcoin and build both his bitcoin and his back up funds simultaneously.  Have you been reading any of my posts, in this here thread that is about my bitcoin investment ideas?

[edited out]
I think your argument is quite logical. But we should also consider another aspect of this discussion.Just because two people have the same monthly expenses doesn't mean they will have the same financial situation or need the same amount of emergency fund. Income stability family responsibilities other family members' sources of income existing savings and the possibility of being unemployed for a few months all are important here.

Someone who has a steady job and other family members also earn money may find an emergency fund equal to three months of expenses sufficient. On the other hand someone with irregular income and more family responsibilities may want to save six months or more of their expenses for their financial security. This is not an unreasonable decision.

I doubt that those are emergency funds that are needed for guys expecting loss of income/increased expenses that will result in 6 months of their monthly expenses being needed.

It also does not sound like a typical situation.

It also sounds like a bit of an excuse for a guy to not buy bitcoin and to keep too much money in cash merely because he is afraid of bitcoin.

So it would not be right to conclude that someone is looking for an excuse to avoid buying Bitcoin just because they want to save six months of expenses as an emergency fund.

Sure.  Guys choose what they want, but it seems a bit retarded for most normal guys to be keeping that much cash absent some compelling reasons.. and yeah, each of us have to assess our current income and expenses and also assess our future expected income/expenses too.

It is necessary to first understand their real financial situation. Having a large emergency fund is not always a good decision. And having a small emergency fund is not always wise. However one thing needs to be considered separately. Saving a reasonable amount of money for financial security and waiting to complete all possible financial preparations before starting to buy Bitcoin is not the same thing. There is no mandatory rule that one cannot start buying Bitcoin until one has a six month emergency fund.

You are starting to sound retarded to be proclaiming it to be reasonable to keep 3-6 months of back up funds - especially for guys who seem to have little or no bitcoin.  We are in a bitcoin thread here.. Maybe some of you guys who believe it is prudent to have 3-6 months of cash without much or any bitcoin need to go to the cash thread or the have fun staying poor thread?

If one already has some backup fund in hand and has real discretionary income left after meeting essential expenses then one can start Bitcoin accumulation with a reasonable portion of that money. At the same time one can gradually strengthen one's backup fund.

At least you are not completely retarded, yet there are still trade offs if guys are coming to bitcoin and already having 3-6 months of cash before the start and not promptly assigning 1/2 or so of their cash value to bitcoin.

There is no such thing as everyone having to divide the money in the same proportion.

Yes.  Everyone uses their judgement, and sometimes they decide dumb shit.

Some people will give more importance to emergency fund according to their situation while others can allocate relatively more money to Bitcoin accumulation.

This is a bitcoin investment thread, including a thread that is specifically about my bitcoin investment ideas, so maybe guys need to start to focus on bitcoin in this thread or go to some other thread, because your emergency fund building ideas (and emphasis) seem to be off topic.

The main thing is to create a balance that is possible to maintain in the long term by understanding one's income expenses, family responsibilities and financial risks. Our goal should be to build Bitcoin holdings while maintaining financial security not to create a situation where one is forced to sell one's Bitcoin in an unfavorable market due to a sudden expense.

Sure.  Those goals seem largely correct, and perhaps even considering how to invest in bitcoin as aggressively as possible without overdoing it.. . or at least working up to that perspective and/or practices.

Maybe two people have the same monthly expenses.

For the first person, maybe three months of expenses may be enough, according to his opinion. But for the second person, if he wants to keep an emergency fund of six months to ensure his safety, it may be difficult to call it unreasonable.
The two examples isn't making any sense to me because how will someone with irregular income, family responsibilities and at the same time unable to work for several months be able to set up an emergency funds of six months of his monthly expenses when he will have to put in much effort with a longer time to build up his emergency funds of three months of his monthly expenses.

You are correct @Sim_card since @Charcol seems to be pointing out a situation in which poor people end up staying poor forever because they can never get enough cash because they are ongoingly worried, and so they spend 10-15-20 years or more ongoingly building up their cash and their cash is degrading in value almost as fast (if not faster) than they are adding to it, so they are ongoingly spinning their wheels, never getting anywhere, and never building wealth, such as in bitcoin.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

It isn't a wise Idea to keep bulky cash at home because of armed robbers. The way the society is right now, and with the current rise of insecurity everywhere, you might get rob if the wrong person gets to know that you are keeping large amounts of cash at home, and all that money will be gone. So keeping your emergency fund all in cash at home is risky, so I think the best approach  is to partition it into three parts, leave one part in cash, leave the second parts in the bank and put the rest into bonds, that way you won't be putting your life in danger and you still have access to your emergency fund when the need arises.

As a bitcoin investor, the problem we have is our mouth, because we talk too much, because If we decide to do things privately while investing, we can always be safe.

As for the part where you say that our emergency funds should be divided into three part, I disagree with that idea of yours because it's not ideal to keep your emergency funds in bonds as you are proclaiming. Dividing it into two is the best, like 60% of it in the bank and 40% of it in cash, so that you can have an emergency funds to fall back to, if your bank lock you out when emergency situation is at hand.

This way your bitcoin investment will always be safe, as long as you continue staying private, because people cannot attack or rob what they are ignorant of.

Keep the amount of funds that will not disrupt your security if you keep them in cash. Keep the remaining amount in a reliable financial institution that has the facility to withdraw at any time. It is better not to keep the emergency fund in crypto or any other form, because you don't know when you will need that fund.

Considering the social insecurity, what you have suggested may be correct, but I think it would not be logical to invest in bonds. It can sometimes take a week to liquidate the funds of some bonds. In the current liquidity crisis in the banking system if you keep the funds you keep in the bank there is a possibility that you will not be able to get them in an emergency situation.

Prioritize the issue of life safety and keep the amount of funds that will be convenient for you at home. At the same time, it is not advisable to hide yourself in fear of robbers because if you have funds you will have to take security measures in the accordingly.

In today's society keeping cash at home can be a somewhat suicidal decision. It is true that there is a risk of thieves robbers or robbers. Again your second suggestion that is keeping a part of the emergency fund in the bank and investing the rest in bonds is a big trap from the point of view of real world finance. Because keeping fiat in the bank means counterparty risk. The bank can go bankrupt at any time freeze your account or in a moment of extreme crisis will not let you withdraw your own money under various pretexts. It is never right to keep an emergency fund in bonds stocks or any other illiquid or volatile asset. The condition of an emergency fund is 100% liquidity and immediate availability. If you keep money in bonds or fixed investments you will not be able to cash it out immediately during a crisis or you will be forced to withdraw it at a loss. It is not right to make an emergency fund an investment or profit making tool. It should be kept in fiat in a safe and compliant place that is fully liquid and in front of your eyes so that in an extreme crisis of life you do not have to panic sell or be forced to exchange Bitcoin.

So it would not be right to conclude that someone is looking for an excuse to avoid buying Bitcoin just because they want to save six months of expenses as an emergency fund. If one already has some backup fund in hand and has real discretionary income left after meeting essential expenses then one can start Bitcoin accumulation with a reasonable portion of that money. At the same time one can gradually strengthen one's backup fund.

There is no such thing as everyone having to divide the money in the same proportion. Some people will give more importance to emergency fund according to their situation while others can allocate relatively more money to Bitcoin accumulation.
You seem to be overstating the importance of emergency funds. Do you know what it means to have 6 months of expenses kept aside especially when you’re still on accumulation phase?. Maybe only guys who are are far in their accumulation journey and have acquired a large amount of bitcoin can save upto 6 months of expenses.

You talking about someone with an irregular income building up 6 months of expenses do you know how long that’s going to take?, it seems to me you’re just speaking words that comes to your head and have never had to practice investing in bitcoin or building emergency funds. Maybe you think 6months of expenses can be saved in six months or a year.

People will always make the financial decisions for themselves and sometimes they make the wrong ones other times they make the right ones.
The aim of this thread is to guide you make better bitcoin investments decisions.

On the other hand someone with irregular income and more family responsibilities may want to save six months or more of their expenses for their financial security. This is not an unreasonable decision.
If someone has a truly irregular income or a lot of family responsibilities, they may need to set aside some extra money. This does not mean that building an emergency fund equal to six months or more of their expenses is a good decision.

Suppose a person's income is so limited that they have very little money left over after meeting essential expenses or can set aside a small amount of discretionary income. It may take a year or more for them to build up a three-month emergency fund. If they decide to build a six-month emergency fund, they will probably spend a lot of time just accumulating cash. Especially if they are busy building an emergency fund during that time instead of collecting Bitcoin, it will be an even more irrational decision.

However, if someone has a big expense coming up or the risk of losing their income is very high, then it is reasonable to set aside money for that need. But you also need to understand that setting aside money for known expenses is not the same as building an emergency fund for unexpected dangers.
