I was thinking about side job and main job in this way until I met a friend who does not have main job but he has many side jobs. I ask him why he doesn't have a main job. He replied and ask me what is main job? Is it business or is it government work?
He told me that there is nothing like a side job or a main job that he is just working remotely. That he will not work for anyone permanently and he can not depend on one source of income. He said that as one is important, all are important to him. So can remote jobs be what you call side job?

If that takes his time mostly, then it's no longer a side job, but a main job. I guess its the trend these days that people are no longer going in offices for their day jobs, since we can already make a decent income just working remotely. But i agree, all jobs should be given importance since all of them generate an income. But honestly, having a main job aside from side jobs gives us more security knowing there's always a stable and fixed income that we can rely especially not just for daily survival, but for emergency cases too.

I think that side job still qualifies as a side job because he has another job that he used to make money for before. Besides that, he is not yet choosing which job he wants to use as his main job, whether still using his main job as before or using his side job as the main job. In this matter, he can select one job only or if he feels difficult to select one of the two jobs, he can still use both jobs to make more money.

People are trying to have a side job that will allow them to make more money. If they already have it, it is better not to leave the main job and manage his time to do both jobs without any problem.

I'm not sure if that's common or not but talking about myself I get much more income from my side job comparing my full-time job also I don't even have to work so hard for it and I don't need to wake up early in the morning and wait for the bus in the bus station like other people, nut the point here about have a fulltime job is to have a stable and guaranteed income which can be useful for your lifestyle so can make sure of you will get some money at the end of each month and you can have your plans for it.

Why don't you start a youtube channel? What is your passion in life? Apparently you like crypto. You can always create a channel and talk about crypto. Nobody cares if what you said was true or false. People don't care. People just want to be entertained. This reminds me during my past days in network marketing. I’ve seen “leaders” who are just ordinary full-time employees back then, have spent part-time in network marketing. Eventually after just a few months, their part-time job’s income is way much more than their full-time work and decided to resign and focus on network marketing. Whether you like it or not, it’s true because I’ve seen their journey and struggles back then.

I have already experienced that right now. My side gig’s income is way more than my usual job to be honest despite that it doesn’t guarantee me stable income. However, despite that my side gig income is earning more than my usual one, I would still keep my full time because I want to sustain at least whatever happens later on to my side gigs.

On my own understanding I think no but it can be differ from person to person. To me, my main job is the job that I work on first and the side job is the second job or the job where I applied later on. I have not experienced yet that I can earn better profit with my sidejob but mostly I can earn lesser profit on my sidejob compared to my mainjob.

On my mainjob, there are also benefits like pension or something that I can use the moment I retire but on my sidejob, there is no such things as benefits, just a literal extra profit but this is already enough and helpful to me while waiting for my salary at the end of the month on my main job.

I'm not considering what is which by the generated income, but accordingly to how much time I dedicate on each one of them. Despite the income factor, I'd still take into account its long-term stability.

For instance, a few months ago, I had three sources of income, one was my main job, one was my internship, which only required a few hours a day at most and the last but not least, Bitcointalk. Despite it not being a side job, it's still a decent, relatively stable side income, which is severely assisting in my financial stability.

Having a side job is very important as an extra income.
because being an employee or worker is not a job for life and we always need extra money, a side job can also allow us to hone and develop new skills and open wider horizons.
Nowadays making money from one source of income is not enough, there needs to be a backup plan especially in this kind of situation. So money from commissions, sales royalties is very important not to mention everyone's lifestyle is different.
it would be better if the results of the side work were invested without having to use the investment from the main job because it was for a month's needs, as I am currently doing. Although it is uncertain and not big but it means, to grow my investment holdings and I invest in bitcoin and some altcoins.

Good questions, a side job is a Job you do together with your main job so assuming you have a better pay in your side Job it's still consider that as the amount of time spent on that side hustle isn't comparable to the main job. Normally immediately smart people start seeing their side hustle is paying more with less time given to it, they immediately give full attention to the side hustle and make it a main job. Side hustle has risk factors associated with it because usually this a self employment hustles that can end at anything but with full job, you have a basic salary.

I agree with you on many of the issues you pointed out there, especially the one that talked about side job being less time demanding. That is the major reason it is called a side job. Some times this side jobs even pay more than the main jobs but the only thing is that we secured the main jobs before the side jobs and find it hard to let go. This forum is a side hustle to many people but it can also mean it is paying more than the main jobs alot of us have. Another thing is that not all side jobs are self employed jobs as you said. Some are company jobs too.

Very very good you say here. I now understand very well the meaning of side job here according to OP. You have explained it for me. That a main job is that particular job that takes much of your time thag other jobs. And a main job is secured. That means it will not end soon, the person might retire in the main job.
It is good therefore to have a permanent job and then be working others jobs that can give you money too. Job security is very important.

The side job is usually not a long-term commitment with a steady salary and some kind of Pension plan and Medical benefit. People take on a side job to supplement their main income, but this hobby or side job can sometimes bring in more money than the main job.

The side job might not be a fixed salary that are protected by a contract.. it might be some kind of commission or something that are seasonal. So you get some months when the income is good and some months when it might be bad and it cannot pay the bills and monthly expenses.

However, having a part-time job will be an advantage since we could earn and sustain all our daily necessities easily. We could have multiple side jobs as long as we're able to handle all of it.

Personally, I don't think part-time jobs are less than full-time jobs.
For example, I am currently doing activities related to online such as being here, managing youtube and doing daily trading and indeed my daily work can be said to be relatively smaller than my part-time job. But I didn't pay much attention to that and continued to do my job as usual because this was indeed the most possible thing to support my life as well because this was indeed one of the things that I had to do, especially if you look at my part-time job which is not necessarily in terms of life. make money even though sometimes it's bigger in terms of income.

Yes without fixed income we are cant afford our daily costs personally I compare this market just to the share market but it's an open-source market where can anyone can trade and invest from anywhere so it's very good news for all of us.

Both are giving a decent income so regardless of being a main job or a side job, both should be given the same importance. Well OP, do not be confused with it as most of the workers today do not rely anymore on a single job as most of the satisfaction today is found from side jobs. But in my case, i decided to leave my main job because i am more making money from my side job. Because its useless to stay in a job that covers most of your time and yet, you are only getting a lower income. So i prefer to chose which satisfies me most.

I think nothing is a side job, it's all about creating multiple streams of income. In general nomenclature what you do for more number of hours or what pays you more is considered the main job and other one the sif job. But I think you should keep it by numbering your streams of income and try to increase this number as much as possible, so that even if you lose one stream of income you can survive on the remaining ones. It's like an advanced model of not keeping all your eggs in one basket.

This is true and the most important thing is that you do able to make decent source of income coming from those things which it wouldnt matter if its a main or side job income because only a few could able to find out
more alternatives or options for them to make money aside from their main jobs which is indeed on the reality of this world.Doesnt matter if its main or side and on how much you do earn from it.
Thing here is that you do able to sustain or do make it lasts while you do still can because you do know on what would be the benefit that it would give into its particular situation.
Never ever skip up on saving up because everything wouldnt really last forever thats why you should really be mindful about that stuff.

I would say depending on the time you spend on doing that job, if the site job takes more hours of work and have higher pay then I don't think it should not be regarded as a side job,
Side jobs are supposed to be casual with a short time frame from the main job, any side job whos hours of work are more than main job should rather be taken as main job imo.
