I'm not considering what is which by the generated income, but accordingly to how much time I dedicate on each one of them. Despite the income factor, I'd still take into account its long-term stability.

For instance, a few months ago, I had three sources of income, one was my main job, one was my internship, which only required a few hours a day at most and the last but not least, Bitcointalk. Despite it not being a side job, it's still a decent, relatively stable side income, which is severely assisting in my financial stability.
Bitcointalk is definitely a good side income if you are living a nation that is not entirely rich. Internships usually do not pay a lot, but I have done free work online to increase my CV before, it has been a long time since I did that but it was actually kind of like internship. So, sometimes even income is not what you get but what you invest.

I know that many people hate free work for "exposure" but when you are starting out first and have nothing to show for, then you need to build something that helps you out. This is why I feel like it has been a case of long term benefits for me in that case.

Having 3 jobs in crypto is quite easy to do, I have one main job, and sometimes I build projects along with it, but aside from that I have been offered like maybe 20-25 jobs since I started my current job, and yet I always reject them, I tried a few of them before back in the early days to see if I could make more money but money wasn't enough to make me do those jobs, usually they make you hate your job. Current job makes me love it and that is all that I need.

General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?

I would say depending on the time you spend on doing that job, if the site job takes more hours of work and have higher pay then I don't think it should not be regarded as a side job,
Side jobs are supposed to be casual with a short time frame from the main job, any side job whos hours of work are more than main job should rather be taken as main job imo.

that is true. if you are identifying that job as side job only, it means, the effort and the time allotment should be shorter than your main job. but if you are spending more time on your side job, then, better make it as your main job. and if you're happy and passionate about your side job, why not? you will be more productive if you are not stress with yourself doing the job. the creativity will come naturally as you like what you are doing.

It is a bias.
I think and I guess that it is about cryptocurrency job as a side job, but the result is more than our full-time job. It is similar to what I am experiencing right now.
However, I still think that this is my side job. Moreover, I am still doing a regular job outside there, with very structured activities, payment salary method, and also life. And all people see me that I ma an employee, this is my side job, let people think about this.
Because it is sometimes too complicated and complex to tell about my another job in the crypto world.
I don;t mind whether it is side job or not, the fact that is I can still earn money from both, so doesn't matter enough with the term.

A side job is perceived to be as a supplementary source of income from your main job. But having the fact right now that most of the employees are no longer dependent on their main jobs as they have their side jobs that provides a bigger income, but this is not a guarantee that all side jobs are more lucrative and beneficial as not all have been given the same opportunities and work well on everyone.

It is the truth of having a side job. These days everyone were looking for a side job to make something, so that they can have a better life. Most of the people who have got technical and technology related skills find an opportunity. Most of the people who lack this are being targeted by the MLM and majority gets trapped. So, it is always good to know better about side jobs prior.

Each person have their own reason for having a side job. Some people looking for a side job ,because their salaries are not enough to pay bills, insurance, debts and other basic needs. Some people use it for savings and some of them used it to buy their wants.

There are some side jobs that earn much greater income than the main job. Instead of spending their time on the main job, some people choose to quit and start the side job where they can earn more and could be the new main job..

I don't really care with such differentiation between main or side jobs, what I know is long term and short term jobs. I'd say each person must have long term jobs in able to feed themself, if you have more time and skills you can looking for many short term jobs as long as you can handle it. If your short term jobs pay better than long term jobs, it's better if you not quit your long term jobs since short term jobs mostly aren't long. What if your short term jobs are done and never continued? You don't have any jobs again...

I find the use of long/short term job to replace main/side job not so appropriate, are you implying side jobs to be short termed, and main jobs to be long term? If so, how can a main job which often times has a clause for retirement be long term, when a side job can be done almost throughout life. Even for the main career job which you consider long term, you may be sacked or the company/organisation you work for bankrupts & your time working there as a main be trauncated, what then do you say? will you still call the main job the long term job? not very proper to me.

You can do as man jobs as you want and can call everything as a job and what differs or it does make any difference to call something as side job?

There is a general theory is there if you want to get financially successful then you need to have 6 sources of income which may comes from different sectors but the real matter is make money and more money...

Long-term work certainly cannot be separated from how we prepare for the future,
many people are anxious about this condition considering it is not an easy thing to get a long-term job,
everyone needs to hone his skills to make it a job

General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?

No,it doesn't.
If you are making more money with your side job than your main job, this means that your side job is your main job.Why are you even asking this question?Do you have a main job and a side hustle?
Many people think that your main job is your main income source and your side hustle is a business, that you want to build slowly,in order to replace your 9/5 job someday.
I also think that "having a career" is becoming kinda obsolete, because nowadays the economy is more flexible and kinda chaotic and not many people could stay 15-20 years in the same company,so they could climb the corporate ladder.People often have to  change their jobs and work in different industries.
Perhaps they could make a career working in only one profession for different companies.

When it comes to side jobs, I think online jobs now generate more income than main jobs.
But as long as we do not choose a side job as the only profession, it cannot be the main source of income.

But if the income of the side job is better than the main job and if someone excludes the main job because of this and accepts the side job as the only earning source, then it can no longer be called a side job.

Side income think is the perfect thing if you have a permanent job source so that then you can earn extra money from on your side otherwise the side job is not helpful for leading life,

The side will be very helpful to you when you work alongside any other job or small business and arrange side income. We have to keep in mind that it is better to keep the side income along with the main income.

But often, after seeing the prospects resulting from a side job, it becomes a reference that when he leaves his main job, he already has an income sector that can provide more freedom. On average, this is often done by workers before leaving their main job, so as long as they make a retirement plan that is waiting for them at a later date.
If they can not earn more from their side job and decide to leave the main job, maybe they will find get difficult to earn money because their payment will reduce a lot and it is not easy to fill their daily needs. It depends on their plan for their future and how they can struggle to make money. If they think that the side job can earn them more money than the main job, they should focus while they are still working on the main job so if they decide to leave the main job, their side job can help them make money.

Side income think is the perfect thing if you have a permanent job source so that then you can earn extra money from on your side otherwise the side job is not helpful for leading life,

Hopefully, their side job can earn extra money to help them live better than before. I see that many workers are searching for a side job and they say that they need to fill their family needs which always increase time by time. As long as they can get a right side job and not have difficulty with that and can earn money, they will get more money and who knows, that side job can be bigger in the future.

Side job vs the main job is not a matter of earnings but priority. What of those two you prioritize, what of those two dominates most of your working day, and for what of those two would pose an issue if you lost them. It's also a question of time because stability over time is also an issue. So all of those factors determine what an individual considers to be their main job vs a side hustle. I have also seen some examples where people clearly had two main jobs, and also situations where people had multiple side jobs but no main one (regarding the criteria I mentioned above).

An interesting thing to do with side jobs is to dedicate all the income to investment. If you are used to live with your main income and even to live and save a little, if you get one or two side jobs, you can dedicate the total of the extra income to investment and live with your main job, even having more margin because the part of the savings that you used to dedicate from your main income you can spend now.

At least that's what I do.

I don’t want to comment on whether it’s called as side job or not, it’s just a job which pays you. The worlds changing at alarming rate and things are getting costly. With inflation on the verge in USA, rest of them gonna pay for the same. It’s better to have more than 2 side incomes and enjoy the benefits of same.

Today’s world is all about making huge loads of money. If your wallet is gonna be empty then all you left with is your home and four walls of it.

So always remember, whether it is side income or main income source; at the end of day it pays you the green bill.

General opinion is that a side job is one that supports the main income of an individual, often times perceived as something that brings little money to add to what you make from your day job. If Mr X earns better from a side job when compared to the income from his career option, does the side job still qualify to be called a side job?

Haha, good one op! The main job will always be the main job if you want it to be. It depends entirely on the person or on the perspective of another. Some may see main jobs as main income provider while others may think main jobs are jobs that consume the most time and effort from a person. Whatever the case, as long as it keeps a roof over your head and food on the table, it doesn't really matter that much what it is called.

Usually career jobs offer opportunities for the individual to reach to upper positions through promotions inside the working field. So even though you earn less from your main job when compared to a side job, you shouldn't give up on it, because on long run it's possible you will have your wage raised and receive extra benefits from the employer, especially if you are an employee on the public sphere.

The important is to work and make as much income as you can. Sometimes we have to earn less now to profit more tomorrow...

While I get your point about acquiring as much as possible, which is something I also support, however, sometimes we shouldn't only seek out money. Don't get me wrong, it's an understandable argument, the world is going through a crisis, cost of living is rapidly rising due to inflation, the pandemic has affected many businesses and sectors, and continues to do so, leading to unemployment, mental issues and financial depression, consequences that we'll suffer for many years to come.

On the other hand, after suffering in a job I do not like (and continue to do so), just because it pays well, personally, if I had the opportunity to do something else, with worse pay, but better conditions, then I'd do it.

Still on preference because some could make out some adjustments as long they could earn big compared on sticking with their passion but earns less.It is understandable that you should really be

able to get lots of resources in terms of income rather than have none.It doesnt matter if its out of your comfort zone or not as long you could able to survive and live then
thats the main priority of someone who had really been striving on finding one and not all would really be having that chance on getting one.So be thankful if ever.
