Japan can't hold the ball and I really don't know what would have to happen for them to win against Germany. Germany was by far a better team in the first half. Japan almost scored a goal right at the end of the first half, but Maeda nearly missed.

When referring to the ball possession owned by Germany, Japan almost had difficulty keeping up with Germany's game. Germany had lots of opportunities, in fact, Germany had 14 total shots, and five shots on target. German opportunities to add goals in the second half, still wide open.

Japan was out played in the first half but we see a huge difference in the second half. I see a lot of self belief and confidence in the Japanese. In the second half Germany tried their best to bring out the defensive line of their opponent but it was difficult. I'd just say, prepare to be blown away in this 2022 world cup. It is no longer business as usual for punters. Two Elite teams have been beaten so far and it makes me so happy. I am super proud of the Japanese side. The coach made the right changes. I just talked about how there were enough unexpected results at this World Cup and Germany should win, but Japan got together and did everything to win. It was the perfect time and the perfect substitution. Japan secured a huge win thanks to Takuma Asano. The two goals they got were perfect. I was amazed by the game and the spirit of the Japanese! What's going on in this competition? The surprises in this world cup is becoming overwhelming. Yesterday was the Saudi's miracle against Argentina and today Japan's wonder against Germany. Germany and Argentina are favorites in this world cup but it is clear now that their advancement to the next round is now uncertain.
