I got to admit Rey Vargas was calculating and looking for his distance on the 1st two rounds, then dominates the following rounds, even though Mark Magsayo points a knockdown against Vargas in the 9th round, it is not enough for the number of Rounds Vargas have got, from that round Vargas was now careful on the last rounds, and Mark Magsayo is aggressive and wants to get a knockout, but to no avail, but yeah Rey Vargas did a good job in using his height advantage and always getting a clear shot on Magsayo, many say that Mark Magsayo was rob from this match but in my opinion, Vargas has gotten a lot of points to erase that Knockout point of Magsayo, I am for Magsayo on this fight, but I am not biased on what I see on the fight both fighters fight their all so a rematch is surely appropriate,

Vargas used an old tactic for a tall guy to use his advantage by keeping his distance by jabs and side-to-side movement, Magsayo before the start of the fight showing too much confidence, great fighters don't do that, Vargas clearly had the number after the fight I though Vargas will win by unanimous decision, the community had its majority for Magsayo, there's really upsets and this is something that should not be ruled out.

Rey Vargas did a great job no doubt about that, even though Mark Magsayo can surely show a lot more, that long reach advantage for Vargas was keeping and pressuring Magsayo away, many are saying that the whole crowd was for Vargas, and even the judges and the referee, I'd say no I really think the judges made the right decision on this fight, Magsayo was really aggressive at Vargas, maybe because of the odds, he gets to the confidence that he can win against Vargas, but both fighters have shown remarkable style, and I would love a rematch please,

It was indeed a good fight for Vargas.  Magsayo heavily relies on his heavy punches, while Vargas just dances around the ring with his jabs.  And it is seen that Magsayo is frustrated when he starts hitting Vargas at the back of his head.  I hope next time Magsayo learns more footsteps and angles and works on his quickness.  Hopefully, he can acquire Manny's great footwork and angles.

He did have the quickness. He is trying to go inside (like Makunouchi Ippo's Dempsey Roll) but whenever he does it Vargas stops him with a clinch. Without momentum going for Magsayo, he became frustrated and that also made him exhausted real fast.
It was a good fight though, he was there almost knocking Vargas out but it's not easy fighting longer and taller guys. Now his record is tainted, but we will see a rematch obviously as it ended with an SD.
Will be looking forward for a knockout next time they meet.

I was already mentioned this since there's a gap about the reach, moreover this fight the reach and height gaps is higher than Kambosos vs Haney. It's either win via decision for Vargas or Magsayo win via KO, since it's decision then it's has been expected Vargas is the winner.

It's unfortunate to see Magsayo lose and seems he won against Rusell was just a fluke and Rusell aren't make an excuse of his shoulder injury. Now he need to comeback to get back his belt, a rematch will be happen I guess, but not too soon.

A reason to expect high by the way. The decision does look like the judges didn't count that Vargas went down. Both did the best of what they got to entertain fans, this is the kind of fight that you need to be in the ringside to enjoy. A very match fight that deserves a rematch.

IMO, most points I give to Magsayo including the difference with the knockout punch he threw which made Vargas kneel.
Some points were also missing and most of them were knockdowns that were disregarded by the official because it looks like a push downwards.
His knees are failing, that's why he keeps on falling and the referee didn't seem to notice it.
The problem is, this is boxing and it will all rely on your performance. If only he could knock him down without getting up, that will surely end the game.
Vargas may have won, but I am proud of Magsayo. That's not an easy task going again a long-range fighter.

Magsayo struggled to get near Vargas because the latter maintained his position always and just like you said, Vargas used his height and reach advantage to get the most score out of Magsayo. It was anticipated that Vargas would use his advantages but it wasn't expected that Magsayo can't get much punch to Vargas.
