Bittrex wallet is on maintenance, how long should it take?
It shouldn't have taken any time, because it should have never been locked up. Bittrex has said, in more polite wording of course, "Fuck you, we have your coins hostage and that's what happens when you don't control the private keys of the account you gave them to". In truth, when we send our coins to an exchange, we give them those coins and they give us an "account" roughly equivalent to the "value" of those coins. Bittrex doesn't give a fuck and we're screwed.

Thanks to everyone, UNB is safe on Bittrex!
Not any more, they are holding all coins hostage and blaming you.

Bittrex now posted this: UNB blockchain experienced a double spend attack. We are working with the development team on a fix.
Any chances to fix this problem? Dev, are you here?

There's a bit of code in the various repos where it seems someone might muck up a new Bitcoin fork into something that Bittrex will accept.

Feathercoin was heavily attacked years ago, they really wanted us dead. The only way we managed to survive was to implement realtime checkpointing. Normal checkpoints are coded into the source like in the Bitcoin source below. It is simply a block number and its corresponding hash, clients will only connect to a chain with those blocks. https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/src/chainparams.cpp#L148Realtime checkpointing is where checkpoints are broadcast at a certain depth, the depth we used was five, this prevented an attacker from replacing the chain any deeper than those five block, exchanges then use a confirmation depth of six and then the coin cannot be used in a transaction reversal attack by replacing the existing chain with a longer one. I have linked in the code for this below on Deepcoin, I link that coin as the commit is relatively neat and encapsulates everything required. https://github.com/Deepcoinbiz/Deepcoin/commit/43413fac89da1db064668e7e4dd5bd6c6036dfb4I hope this may be of some help. All someone needs to do is add checkpointing to the coin, compile binaries and set up a node to broadcast checkpoints. People get funny about having a node broadcast checkpoints but the only other options seems to be delisting, there are elements of centralisation from source code developers to DNS seeders, sometimes the trade off is worth it.

Shut down any UNB wallets running on either, then just: Move the wallet.dat file from ~/Library/Application Support/Unbreakablecoin/ on the Mac to C:\Users\ YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Unbreakablecoin on the Windows PC.

Anyone have any idea how much longer the Bittrex wallet will be down? My coins are trapped :s
Bittrex's official answer is: The issue that was present with this coin leads to loss of integrity with the wallet we cannot allow coins to move in/out of the wallet until the development team fixes the wallet. Turning this wallet on could lead to the loss of funds for many users due to the nature of the attack. Please contact the development team if you have issues with this.
There is nothing I can do for you at this time, as this issue is waiting on the developer to be resolved. In other words, "UNB is toast and you're feked for your coins."

I've heard claim after claim after claim of "double spend" or "51%" attacks on dozens of coins and not yet seen a single shred of proof to back any such claim.

Yep and Bittrex reported it almost 2 days before Cryptopia did anything. I sent coins from my UNB desktop wallet to Cryptopia just before they shut down the market, my coins are currently marked as unavailable in my Cryptopia account :s In spite of all this, it seems to be flying on Bittrex the last couple of days. Hopefully we will be able to send our coins over there in due course.

Okay if Bittrex and Cryptopia have halted the wallet. Am I missing another exchange somewhere where the price of the coin is moving and frankly fooling Coinwarz as the most profitable coin.

Coinwarz has been stuck on the old Bittrex price since Bittrex shut down their wallet and Coinwarz has, thus far, ignored all notices that the coin is defunct. :/

Is there something i am misssing? Both Cryptopia and Bittrex have said they are working with the devs to resolve this. Here's to hoping.

Trades are still functional because they don't actually involve a wallet. Exchanges are banks and trades run on debits and credits to a ledger (not actual coins).
