Looks like this fight might be in jeopardy now: https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/boxing/tommy-fury-vs-jake-paul-24466941 "If Hasim pulls out, we just won't do the event," Paul told The MMA Hour. "I'm tired of switching opponents, there's really no other names. We'll have to reset and reschedule, it's too last minute to switch out another opponent. The tickets, it creates so many complications for refunds, it's just a f****ng nightmare and a pain in the a** at his point
"It's too late to give someone a fair amount of time to train. I want someone in there who's going to give me a challenge, if we called someone up three weeks before there could be the excuse they only had a couple of weeks to train and it wasn't a fair fight. This is the last resort, hopefully it comes through. It's crazy how the Disney channel kid is down to fight but no-one else is.". Hopefully it's just some bluffing/playing hardball trying to milk some extra cash out of the fight or trying to get himself some more favourable terms. I can't pick a winner. Nobody really knows much about this guy other than his family name/ties. It could be Jake's most challenging fight yet, or maybe his easiest if he already knows he's not up to much since he's sparred him already. That's the only thing I don't like about this fight as they both will know the others limits and weaknesses/strengths etc. I don't know why but I'm really hoping Jake remains undefeated as I'd like to see how far he can go and who he will fight next. It has to be Tommy Fury for me.

Same, I have seen Rahman Jr. fight he has weaknesses and awkwardness, if Paul can land a clean punch he can knock this guy out, its a big challenge for Paul and a big step up too, this is the first time that he's fighting a real boxer, he may be not a top-level fighter but he is a legit boxer. I have a feeling that this is a cherry-picked fight for Jake Paul but that's what he is good at.

After looking on Hasim Rahman Jr stats on boxrec it looks to me that he is another "pro" boxer that has been fighting with trash. Same as Tommy Fury. I find it strange, that Jake is going to fight this guy, because they had sparred before. It looks that Jake could not find any fighter that has a name and is interesting to fight with him. He has picked Hasim Rahman Jr and their fight will be sort of another sparring. They with theatrically fight, but their fight will be just a filler to fill card spot, just not to make this event cancelled.

The Tommy Fury fight was banking on Tommy's family name to bring in the PPV buys. Backfilling him with Rahman was a last minute attempt to still collect a check. I don't think Hasim will back down from this fight. What other chance does he have at getting this sort of payday? If he does back out at the last minute, I don't think anyone would hold that against Jake. It does feel a little bit like the hype is dying down though, so I hope we see another good fight to keep things going. As much as I don't want to see Mike Tyson fight again, if this fight falls through, I think Jake has no choice but to try and bait Tyson into a fight by the end of the year to keep his name in the news.

It'll be interesting to see how much Rahman is actually getting of the purse. I imagine Jake Paul has demanded a rather large percentage of it. Rahman gets exposure, but if he gets knocked out like Jake's last opponents its not the type of exposure he wants. Honestly, I don't know enough about Rahman to even comment on how this goes. I don't really know how well he boxes, and how he matches up to Paul. Jake wouldn't have taken this fight if he didn't think he could win, especially since they've already sparred. I imagine this was always going to be lined up, and Rahman was the fall guy if anything went amiss with Fury. I imagine, due to the problems the Fury family has had recently with being banned, due to association with certain criminals, Jake might've already seen this coming.

He needs to pick his opponents carefully. He can't exactly fight a current respected pro at this stage because he'll just get embarrassed so he's being wise and choosing pro boxers with big names rather than skill. Whilst this Hasim guy doesn't seem to have fought anyone of note and I've never seen him fight he doesn't seem to be an easy fight for Jake. With that being said, they've already sparred together so I'm sure Jake wouldn't take this if he didn't think he can easily win... or not lose. With it being so last-minute he wouldn't have had many other options so at least fighting a 'proper' boxer is better than some washed up UFC fighter or some other nobody. I'm just really hoping he can get past this one and they can sort out the fight with Tommy next as that's still a much more exciting fight to me and I'd say they're both quite evenly matched. The Tommy Fury fight was banking on Tommy's family name to bring in the PPV buys. Backfilling him with Rahman was a last minute attempt to still collect a check. I don't think Hasim will back down from this fight. What other chance does he have at getting this sort of payday? I imagine, due to the problems the Fury family has had recently with being banned, due to association with certain criminals, Jake might've already seen this coming. Jake will be taking the lions share as he's the main draw here. Don't forget about Amanda Serrano though as I'm sure she will be taking a big chunk too. Jake paid her 1 million for the last fight I believe so I'd say she's getting roughly the same now. This fight probably isn't as big as the Katie Taylor one though. As for Rahman I'd say he's probably getting 100k minimum, at max maybe a few multiples of that. There's likely a win bonus as well. He's basically just the step-in/reserve fighter for this fight but looks like he's trying to wrangle some more money out of Jake. Can't blame him as he knows Jake would be in a shit situation without him as it would be too late to find someone else unless Tommy can magically get his Visa sorted, but maybe that whole situation was just an excuse anyway. Tommy's dad kinda dropped him in it saying he hadn't been training and was unfit. Not sure how much you can trust John these days though. Tommy just did a marathon last week so can't be that unfit.

I've heard that Jake was aiming to get into UFC and get some big fights, perhaps a title fight already (lol). But Dana White told him to wait, join qualifying (the ultimate fighter show maybe or Dana White contender show), train and wait when he be called. Also heard that Jake is waiting for big UFC stars contracts to end, then he will be able to call them for a fight. But I agree that Pauls exhibition boxing fights hype is dying. Tommy's dad kinda dropped him in it saying he hadn't been training and was unfit. Not sure how much you can trust John these days though. Tommy just did a marathon last week so can't be that unfit.
You dont have to be fit if you have talent, talent just like his half-brother has

MMA is a whole different sport to boxing. MMA fighters can compete in boxing but it's very rare you'd get the opposite with boxers going to MMA unless they've already got some wrestling experience or something. Jake will almost certainly fight some UFC fighters once their contracts are up but not in MMA. Boxing is where the money is now and Dana is going to lose big names like Ngannou if he either doesn't start paying them more or lets them box as well. Nate Diaz has been publicly calling for Dana to let him go so he can fight Jake so I can see that happening and Jake seems to want it too. That wouldn't be a bad fight and would be a big challenge for Jake as Nate can punch and also take a beating. Connor has 2 or 3 fights left with the UFC and if the money is there to fight Jake then I can very much see that happening in the future just as long as Jake can keep bringing in the numbers. As long as he keeps winning he's going to gain more and more fans and get a hell of a lot more eyeballs on him so it's not out of the possibility. McGregor is at risk of becoming washed up as well so he might not have much choice if he doesn't turn things around in the UFC.

It does seem like a pretty messed up situation for him. Dana won't get him a fight and also won't let him get his own fight outside of the UFC. I understand that Dana is a businessman, but I think it's gotten to the point where instead of growing the UFC company with his business skills, he's allowing other sports like boxing to begin getting back their market share. Surely the UFC is making enough money to where they could double fighter pay without hurting the bottom line. In this case, all he needs to do is let Nate walk away from his contract. Seems like the right thing to do, but I'm sure Dana wants a cut to make it happen.

But I think its not just about him getting a cut, its also about protecting UFC fighters. Nate Diaz is not fit to fight due to long inactivity. This will embarrass UFC if he gets knockout by a youtuber. We have seen his last 2 fights and with that kind of performance, Paul will throw him down the canvass like a ragdoll.

Jale Paul causes a lot of embarrassment in UFC, Dana White should protect his organization's image I agree that Nate will suffer if he fights Jake, boxing is very much different from MMA we have seen it on 3 UFC fighters who tried to make a shift and all suffer from embarrassment, going back to Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr this is going to be an interesting match up because Jake Paul is fighting a certified boxer although not a top-level boxer, after this fight id he has a good result he can fight fighters on the top I doubt if he can win a world title.

Surely the UFC is making enough money to where they could double fighter pay without hurting the bottom line. In this case, all he needs to do is let Nate walk away from his contract. Seems like the right thing to do, but I'm sure Dana wants a cut to make it happen. Its Dana's business to make sure he gets money out of everyone under his contract. Yup, Nate Diaz is already 13 months inactive and he even lost his last fight against Leon Edwards through a decision. Dana White is still going to get money out of everyone under him and the money he'll get in this fight will not make him rich either but the said money won't suffice if the image of his protected company will be dragged into the mud because the chances of Nate losing here is pretty much high. He surely doesn't want his company to be the reason to bring hype to this pathetic boxer wanna be, Jake Paul.

I also notice it, Hasim Rahman Jr seems just fighting with a nonpro boxer, and it seems like he has the moves but it's's kind of slow for me, well, this is just my opinion but the way Hasim Rahman Jr box it seems Jake Paul is the one that is professional, all opponent of Hasim Rahman Jr is not a legit boxer, kind of? but they move like amateurs getting into Rahman's range and didn't move like a real boxer, but for me, Jake Paul has the advantage here, he got the speed, and power while Hasim Rahman Jr had the strength he doesn't have the speed to reign punches to Jake Paul, It'll be interesting to see how much Rahman is actually getting of the purse.
I have seen Hasim Rahman Jr and how he box, for me he is just decent, not that explosive and there is no awe in his movement, if you would watch his highlights over Jake Paul you will ask why did Jake Paul take this fight, I'd say Hasim Rahman Jr has decent boxing, but Jake Paul has perfected the way he KO his opponent and his strength is a big factor in this fight and his speed, many are saying Jake Paul can take this, right now many are in favor for Jake Paul to win here,

Jake is literally the best person you could have for publicity. The Paul brothers are just absolute gold mines in that department. I haven't seen anyone else do it better. Plus, Jake knows how to push people's buttons. He has basically built his career off being the "problem child" as he calls himself.
I actually don't think he is as much of an idiot, as he's portrayed. I actually think the more I've seen of him, the more calculated his videos, messages, and basically everything is. I imagine at the start of his career, and bad publicity he was just a normal kid bending some rules, but he has simply embraced that sort of reputation, and has literally built a boxing career off of it. Plus, I actually think he's going to win in this next fight, and I was part of the gang that would just like to see him get beat, so he can stop embarrassing the sport. However, I'm not sure if he's an embarrassment any more, he has done more for boxing than a lot of professional boxers.
The odds are fairly close, not massive odds either way.

His latest stunt of pretending to be in the hospital with a broken back from carrying the promotion from this fight seemed a little juvenile. He's fallen quite a bit from the "got your hat" promo that made him a legend heel. This latest act is just plain dumb. I feel like they're running out of ideas and probably so rich now that their effort is falling off. Maybe he's just a little too close to his WWE brother, but this latest skit seemed like something straight out of the WWF in the 80s. I hope he's less corny going forward. His old antics were awesome.

Jale Paul causes a lot of embarrassment in UFC, Dana White should protect his organization's image I agree that Nate will suffer if he fights Jake, boxing is very much different from MMA we have seen it on 3 UFC fighters who tried to make a shift and all suffer from embarrassment, going back to Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr this is going to be an interesting match up because Jake Paul is fighting a certified boxer although not a top-level boxer, after this fight id he has a good result he can fight fighters on the top I doubt if he can win a world title. i saw the press conference on youtube and both sides just be joking at each other but i must say i laughed a lot with it and this will be a fight that will make you laugh a lot, i hope they don't fight for entertainment and be more professional. I'm still thinking about who I'm going to bet on, because in this type of fights the results are very unpredictable, in my case as I've never watched every fight of these two fighters, I've only seen many videos of their fights, it's hard for me to choose who will win, although I think that Jake Paul has a better chance of winning

This is according to this MMA news.Anyway, there is no difference to the result, Khamzat is a lot dangerous than Jake Paul. Khamzat will double up and tuck Diaz over and pound him to the ground. Dana made a decision to end the career of Diaz and maybe after the fight, Diaz is on his own and can fight Paul after Oct. 19. His UFC contract expires this date. Just like you, I am part of the gang who wants Jake Paul or Logan Paul to get beaten up by their retired professional opponents, to actually enjoy while watching them winning it, now in the fight with Hasim Rahman Jr., I am rooting for Jake Paul now, I don't know about the sudden change of heart but upon further review on Jake Paul's boxing, he is doing fine with his skill and technique he is a natural born fighter that is for sure, but for me, Jake Paul is and not Logan Paul, if there will be a fight between this two brothers I will be rooting for Jake Paul, His latest stunt of pretending to be in the hospital with a broken back from carrying the promotion from this fight seemed a little juvenile. He's fallen quite a bit from the "got your hat" promo that made him a legend heel. This latest act is just plain dumb. That Skit is just for fun in my opinion, it addresses Hasim Rahman Jr. because his opponent is not really a well-known boxer, and I do believe this is just a way Ok with me, not a brilliant one but still he's doing something to sell their fight I think many will not appreciate what he is doing but I think this is for all his fans, it may not have that impact of a level but I think it is OK, or my taste is just poor, anyway I am just looking forward on what may happen on the event, It may not happen now because Nate Diaz will be fighting Khamzat on UFC 279. This is according to this MMA news.Anyway, there is no difference to the result, Khamzat is a lot dangerous than Jake Paul. Khamzat will double up and tuck Diaz over and pound him to the ground. Source: https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2022/07/ufc-news-nate-diaz-contract-expiration-dateIf both promotions will settle an agreement then this fight will surely go as it is, but for me, it is still on the horizon and pretty much Nate Diaz will surely need to make the decision for himself, but for me, a Nate Diaz fight will be great because of Nate's lot of supporters but for this fight to progress Nate Diaz will need to be in good shape first, but yeah Dana White is feeding Nate Diaz to Khamzat Chimaev, in hopes for Diaz to retire, so he can make his way to fight Jake Paul but for me, it is still in the Horizon and I think Jake Paul has the advantage on Nate Diaz as well,

This appears to be another payperview joke from the promoters to scam fans. Something similar to a pump and dump ICO to steal your money hehehe. Also, why will Jake Paul not challenge James Morrison, the fighter who knocked out Hasim Rahman?

It's Kenzie Morrison, not James Morrison. If Jake Paul will fight against him, then we will expect another KO from Kenzie Morrison lol since Jake Paul isn't a good boxer. I believe he will keep winning when he fight against a weak boxer or unknown boxer, then if he challenge a champion or strong boxer, he might be fine if he lose since he will already made a good sum of money. In this fight I will bet on Paul since I know Rahman Jr. only foughts against loser.
