Even Pakistan has rich history in sports but sadly in last two decades they are going down badly even now FIFA banned them due to their poor acts in PFF involvement and mostly Federations are run by ex army persons which is the worst thing happening.

Due to this now they are losing all their International involvements because mostly International Federation's no like Government's involvement, but they are not having any response to this all and doing their jobs which is having bad impact on youths and games few years back there were many great Squash and Hockey players now all gone with soccer is also having completely down and out but due to uncertainty of political system no one able to settle things which is going to happen for some more years hopefully in next few years someone tries to settle things in positive side.

I totaly agree with you it might be too early to predict who is the winner since one year still remain until the competition but there is a group of countries that are hugely favourites unless we see another surprise like Qatar, but in my opinion japan, south korea, iran, australia and maybe saudi arabia are likely to win the tournament.

There are regulations that prevent a country from participating in the cup event, so FIFA makes decisions based on customer considerations owned by a particular country, political gaps, wars and others can prevent a country from participating in any cup, this limitation may have been violated by Countries that are not included in the Cup, without a definite fault and violation, FIFA cannot disqualify any country

^ Actually, the problem is in Pakistan even their own political situation is not very good. They are facing a lot of problems politically. And there are a lot of bigger problems in Pakistan. Among all those problems the problem with sports really does not look very big. And that is another reason why I think Pakistan is going to need a lot more time to solve these problems with sports. Pakistan also had some big problems to fix in cricket. Luckily those problems are getting fixed with time.

^ Yes, I think I will agree. The football setup that Pakistan has is not good. We all know that India is not a very good football-playing country and I can surely say that even India has a far better setup compared to Pakistan. If they could play in this Asian cup it would have been better because they could have understood what the problem is and in which areas they have more problems. But they should try to improve regardless.

Hey, you're kidding when you compare Asian teams to European and American teams.
