The past is behind now. We aren't watching the same Barcelona anymore. So it isn't the right thing to be prejudiced about the matches between them and Bayern Munich already now. Especially in Camp Nou things won't be easy for Bayern Munich. This Barcelona don't have Messi but they have a better system from now on. They don't rely on only one player like in the past. They are learning to play strongly as a team which is a crucial point for any team in the Champions League. Teamwork was one of the biggest factors that made Real Madrid the champions last season.

Was that a really expected reaction just to belittle Barcelona? I don't expect it to happen again this season in the Champions League even if Group C is a hellish group at the moment. I know Bayern Munich is a very strong team, but there is no reason to underestimate Barcelona even if they had an unpleasant experience against Bayern Munich in the past.

There are three big teams in it, it is quite difficult to guess who will qualify for the next round because the chances are still the same. I am not surprised that Cristiano Ronaldo desperately want to leave Manchester United to play for Champions League, we all know that Cristiano Ronaldo is a Champions League player, he is an acclaimed king of Champions League, he has scored so many goals in Champions League thereby he would like to continue those records. so I don't blame him but in the other way around, his achievement in football is high and big, he should have use this period and give back to Manchester United that made him. Cristiano Ronaldo still feels he can make a difference in the Champions League.

But really at the beginning of this new season, he didn't have the most appropriate attitude and now he's in a complicated situation: he hardly goes to a club in the Champions League; and inside Man United they are putting him on the sidelines.

He now has to calm down, and win over his teammates, coach and fans, in order to do what he knows best: goals and help the team win.

Really not liking that we're meeting Ajax again as I prefer they go and knock out other teams haha, but here's hoping Barca find a way to take Munich out, but we've got to exorcise our Napoli demons =D

Honestly I don't see any "group of death". But Group B might be the most complicated one anyway. Even the fourth seeded team which are Club Brugge can get surprising results in the matches. It is very difficult to predict which teams would qualify for next round.

I can't imagine what Trabzonspor would do in Group G if they were able to eliminate Copenhagen. I don't expect any success from Copenhagen in that very tough group.

My favourite teams to advance to next round group by group are like this:

Group A => Ajax, Liverpool
Group B => Atletico Madrid, Porto
Group C => Bayern Munich, Barcelona
Group D => Tottenham, Marseille
Group E => Chelsea, Milan
Group F => Real Madrid, Leipzig
Group G => Manchester City, Dortmund
Group H => PSG, Juventus

I would not underestimate Napoli in group A, and I think that Atletico is no longer as strong and dominant as before, so Leverkusen also has a good chance in group B.
It will be interesting to see how well Inter can do in group C, but they are not without chances, and I think you underestimated the winner of the Europa League, Frankfurt in group D.
Salzburg is also a very good team in Group E, with good chances for second place.

Barcelona is definitely doing better this year compared to last year because they have not only fired Koeman and got Xavi because even Xavi couldn't get them the Europa Cup which we all know worse than Champions league. But they also improved the list a lot as well, look at the roster.

Last season they were playing with decent players but not amazing players, whereas this year they are playing with great players. Even Lewandowski is enough to show that they are doing amazingly and I do not expect them to do any worse this year at all, they are going to be quite good.

They would be the leader of this group at the end.

Barcelona in last 12 months has renewed the entire team from scratch. They did really bad in last europa league group stage and should have done much better. This season in champions league i see them in the quarters and not above that. Xavi still needs to learn more about this job so he can do his best

If Ronaldo comes to Napoli and United can poach Anthony from Ajax, then I think Napoli will be an undeniable contender for second place, and maybe even first, as we have seen that Liverpool can have unexpected failures. At the moment, Ajax's quotes for getting into the top 2 are quite a bit higher than Napoli - 1.77 against 1.83, but due to possible transfers, they can seriously change.

The new football season has just started and it is still too early to make any concrete predictions, after only a few games have been played.
I agree, Napoli had a good start in the Italian league and Frankfurt had a weaker start in the German league, but that doesn't mean anything yet.
The football season will be very long and hard and every club will have ups and downs, periods of good results and periods of bad results, and that's normal.
After all, I don't remember that Frankfurt was good in the German league last season, but that's why they played above all expectations in the European league and won the competition.
