So, I’m playing my wildcard for this week, I’ve already been hammered by price changes over the first 3 weeks due some 50/50 decisions that didn’t go my way like pick Hume and Enzo Le Fee over GroB and De Cuyper, If I had, but since I’m playing from a place of strength having started the season better than I ever have, I want to settle into the season already and just start rolling transfer and making long term decisions rather short term punts.

You had a team that could have survived you this GW - I'm curious why you WC now and not wait till after the international break to navigate through unexpected injuries

Like I said, I'm trying to play from a place of strength rather than trying to just navigate only this gameweek, the goal isn't just to be able to survive this game week, and but not to delay the inevitable wildcard at the expense of 4-5 FTs and price drop that would surely hurt me in 3 weeks.

For this GW for example my thought process is that I have two Free transfers in a situation where I have the following disadvantages;

1. Only Joao Pedro from Chelsea;
2. 4 players from the Manchester Derby; Bruno, Mbeumo, Shaw and Foden
3. 3 Sunderland (double defense) players vs Arsenal
4. 0.4m price increase in total for players I'm sure I'd want to bring in on wildcard.
5. 0.3m decrease in my current players that are surely going out on wildcard (making it 0.7m swing and surely continuing)


Advantages:

1. 3 Arsenal defense
2. 2 FTs

So let's say I want to get through the game week without a major surgery to the team, by using 1-2 FTs

Option 1: Bruno > Palmer (obviously a viable captain choice), I'll save one free transfer
Option 2: Bruno > Palmer, Le Fe > Rogers, 0 FTs going forward.

Only one of the options above means I'd still be playing a not so bad team for this week (aside having Shaw or Diop in defense and Le Fe, Foden or DCL...

But, it would also means I'll have no route to Haaland for GW5 (without WC or 3 transfers -8) against Sunderland (and my current Sunderland assets are only going to keep dropping price for sure). If I'm not playing Haaland in GW5, I'll have no Haaland, no Bruno and probably zero FTs If I’m bringing in the easiest option I can find from Man City again.

Now, all things being equal over those game weeks, I'd be expected to score significantly less points just to delay my wildcard until game week 7 (where I'll have to start with zero FTs post WC anyways).

Instead, playing my wildcard now means I'll have stronger squad planned for a longer period, and I'll have 4 FTs after the international break, which I'm quite certain should be enough for any mishap that could occur from the break, and I certainly wouldn't have to worry about being already short of likely north of 1m - 1.5m between the squad I'd be able to afford now and after the break.

Liverpool has a nice fixture this weekend but some questions are there after the CL week as it seems Barcola is good to go. Will there be a Barcola left and Gakpo right combination, or maybe Iraola will not try to force out all the minutes out of Barcola since he did have cramps 3 days ago. I am happy to leave Szobo in the midfield and I kept Tzolis so might go 3-4-3 with transfers of Palmer/Konsa for Bruno/Rondon. (I just have to see if I am covered for GW5). To early for free hit as I believe with the mentioned transfers its still a good team for this GW. Will consider wildcard after the international break.

I used my Wildcard, but I think I managed to put together a more balanced team
I took a few risks, too, let's see if it works out
I activated the Wildcard, but as soon as this round is over, I'll have 4 transfers for GW5, and based on my calculations, I won't need to use them, so I'll have 5 transfers in GW6 and will be able to make a lot of adjustments if necessary

Chelsea, although scoring first, has had to play chase against Hull City, who have been a difficult away team for Chelsea. It has not been all Chelsea dominating the play; Hull has been able to defend well and also create goal-scoring chances for themselves.

The game is locked at 2-2, with J. Pedro with an assist and a goal, Ancelloti fumbled on not picking Pedro for Brazil in the World Cup. He must realize that by now, he likely would have made a difference for them.

Xabi will want to win this game after losing points to Arsenal in their last game.

In my opinion, Chelsea has practically the best offense in the league, and they haven’t even used Estevão yet

But Hull City doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the team everyone thought it would be
Even in the long run, it might be a good idea to have one of their defenders on the team, since against the weaker teams, there’s a good chance they won’t give up any goals, they are costing 4.1m right now

They’ve gone four games without a loss and have already faced Chelsea and Manchester United

That's true, you will need at least 2 transfers to make a successful trade. The only exception is when you have some money in the bank that will be used to augment the prices.
The problem I'll continue to have is remembering to set my team. Imagine that I didn't set my team and hence still have 3 manchester city players in my team. It's just sad and unfortunately Isak I captained last week is still my captain. I hate this.

I guess more often than not, that's always the case, "wildcard curse" never disappoints, and I'm a victim of that as well, my previous 3 Arsenal assets Raya, Gabriel and Calafiori combined for 30 points, while me ditching Raya for Saka and Gabriel for Konsa earns me 10 points less, If Arsenal didn't get that late, it would have been worse.

Liverpool are just a complete letdown, I didn't even watch their match but I got heavily burned by them with my best today, I got too confident with them, I was actually happy when I saw Barcola being included in the starting lineup.

If my Brighton picks can deliver on their own of the bargain tomorrow, then I'll consider this an immediate wildcard success, that's to go without any hattrick from Foden and/or Mbeumo.

Yes! impressive freehit team to be fair, you had a lot of differentials that could have turnout even better for you with the Rice, MGW and Tavernier picks I'm not sure any of them would have crossed my mind if I was on a Freehit, and with your captain, Haaland to go, honestly this could get really rosy for you.

I think im close to you for me as well it was such a good week with three players left. Im sad that Palmer on captain didnt do much and it was a flop honestly. But still o most all players did well and im happy currently. Improved a lot this week,you are lucky that you got a Haaland on captain because it can bring you a lot in the next game

This now looks like a better decision than numerous Cole plamer captaincy. I think any one still with Manchester United defenders will only lose more Money than gain points.

Although most of the chips used weren’t effective I still think people that triple up on Chelsea attack, Arsenal Defense and Brighton players most precisely De Cuyper and Gross are the biggest winners of the week. Worst decision was actually going for Isak this is regardless of what happens in the Newcastle vs Leeds game.

Feel bad for those who triple captained Cole Palmer and Captain Isak. I’ve seen at least three users who triple captained Cole Palmer this gameweek. Good thing I didn’t captain Palmer and Bruno Fernandes.

Now I’m just hoping Wissa doesn’t score goal in their game against Newcastle or else buwaytress will win the prize this GW. I’m currently leading with 106 points this gameweek.

Pascal Groß came through for the managers that have him in their team and i am glad i did bring him in, it would have been a terrible gameweek if i didn't. Now i would just hold off until the international break to play my Wildcard chip.

Chelsea has not being a team that is known to keep their lead, even with this Xabi Alonso having to take over the team and have assembled a good attacking force, the defense has being very laggy and they always end up leaving the goalkeeper exposed and frankly, they are going to make Martinez look bad.

When I saw their odds to be around 1.22 for a win against Hull City, I knew that was a risky choice for bet on against a team like Hull City that has challenged greater odds this season and are still holding their heads high still.


Being trying to gamble on not having to captain Haaland and get some unilateral points with the rest of y’all but it’s already proving to be a bad idea. Odegaard didn’t manage to get nothing in this GW and that’ll be the second time he has got to waste my captaincy.

I think everyone in this round o most swapped and got Palmer,i did it as well. Most of people used free hits or wildcards to get him but still he didnt bring much points,i even captained him. Im really mad at my self that i dont have Pascal Gross in my team and i switched him for Tonali that cant do anything.

Still a good week for me,finished with 89 points in this GW and got that 10th place and improving every week,with only one chip used

This could have been a 100+ points if I had gone to Saka instead of Odegaard - everyone on the team returned except him. I had all the money to get with Saka but I'm was a bit scared of his minutes after the Champions game he had mid-week I didn't expect him to play 90mins. What's more important is I'm getting into some competitive positions and now I just need Wissa to blank again.

Liverpool assets have been a waste of space - they shouldn't be in my WC if I'm serious I'm about kicking some ass this season.

I didn't see the Manutd - City derby in real time but that's the worst 10 vs 11 highlights I have seen for a long time that's was some leveled of tactical master class from Enzo Maresca. We don't get to see that every; to go short from the 23' and still manage to win against a complete team.
