Been in this discussion for quite some time and I haven't read that someone here is Jamaine Ortiz's fans, some are just saying that Ortiz is just too underrated compared for Loma which is true but some also have said that Loma should still take some extra precaution because Ortiz might be the 2nd Teo Lopez that will give him an upset. Well, about that, they truly have a point because Ortiz here is also an undefeated boxer who wanted to be a star someday, so a defeat here is the least he wanted.

Losing to Ortiz in this fight is a very slim possibility because for me Loma is on a mission of reclaiming the belts he once have and i also think that he will never be overconfident on this one and make sure that he will do the job with convincingly as this win will make him the frontrunner to fight Haney for the unified belts.

Though Ortiz is undefeated but his opponent were nobody so and talent-wise, he is not on the same level with Loma and with that being said, i'm betting for Loma to KO Ortiz, just hope that he will not show mercy on his opponent like he did with Richard Commey.

I'm riding this pick, I like to see Loma getting a very impressive win and there's no other way but to dominate  Jamaine Ortiz and best if he could KO him. Good thing I was able to see this thread, I almost forgot that this fight will be tomorrow, I should get ready the PPV channel ready then.

TBH, this is one risky bet for me because seeing the some highlights of Ortiz, i could say that this guy is a technical fighter, though he is below the talent level of Loma but he may survive the onslaught. Ortiz won't be called the "Technician" for nothing but i think Loma will be too much to handle in the end and he may lose by KO or decision.

The fight will be in a few hours, i hope that someone would post a link here of the fight hehe as to not missed Loma gracefully defeat Ortiz tonight.

^^ Richard Commey might be tehnical for Loma though, but look at how he destroyed him, hehehe. And the thing with Loma is that he has subtle punches that was really awkward, like intentionally punching you in the gloves or just pulling your hands down with his own hands that sometimes his opponents doesn't know how to react and even how technical you are, in this case Ortiz, who is still very young and yet very "technical" already, he might be in this position that he can respond and then Loma catching him off guard and score a knockout win.

It is interesting because he will expect to entertain his fans once more, most are expecting that it will going to be an easy fight for

I hope he will not fail our expectations, I think this fight is just like a tune up fight before a big fight, just like what Ryan Garcia did when he comes back to boxing. Well, we know how technical Lomachenko is, if he will use that effectively in this fight, it should be easy for him, however, we might not see a KO if Ortiz won't be desperate enough to KO Lomachenko.

Ryan Garcia's situation is somehow different to Lomachenko because Ryan fought an unknown local boxer named Tagoe and Fortuna who is already a veteran that has nothing to lose, the latter is fighting an aspiring boxing superstar with a clean undefeated record. What I'm trying to say is that Ortiz might be an underrated boxer in our eyes but let's now lose our vision here because Lopez also had that situation before he defeated Loma.

If I understand your point and it is totally valid, for many here the clear winner is Loma, that is obvious, but we cannot forget the preparation that Ortiz gave himself, we know that he will not come out as a guinea pig, he is already a boxer who knows what he wants and he will go for it, for me this boxer can give us a surprise, I would not trust Loma's case, sometimes when someone says that he is weak or that he is not at my level, we do not know what they can come up with And the worst thing is that they surprise us in the middle of the act, because that is something that will be recorded for life and will be an example for those highly overrated boxers over the underrated ones.

I was not very impressed by Loma tonight. His performance tonight doesn't convince me in any way that he is ready for Haney. Ortiz gave Loma a lot of problems due to his size and style. I was not very impressed by Loma tonight. His performance tonight doesn't convince me in any way that he is ready for Haney. Ortiz gave Loma a lot of problems due to his size and style. Same here, it seems that he just went and age a lot in this fight. No angles at all and he got hit a lot in my opinion. Ortiz though look big at 135 and maybe that's what make it a very difficult fight for Loma. There are a lot of close rounds as well that can go either way.

In this version of Loma, I think Haney will just smash him with his long jabs and his timing.

For sure, if the fight is going to be made next, I think Haney might take the betting odd favorite.

At least he delivered, a win is still a win, for me, he is still fast and still accurate, and style makes a fight, Ortiz is a tough customer for Loma, the Haney fight should be made after this, we cannot judge Loma that he is not ready every fight is different and Haney and Loma is the top name in the lightweight division, if they agreed to fight then its good for the boxing community, and let them do their thing against each other.
I'm looking forward to both of them signing the deal I hope this will not become a Spence Crawford kind of negotiation.

I think for some it's a disappointment to see how the fight turns out to be, but yes, a win is a win and so Loma will take this one, whatever you call it. It's just interesting to see how big Ortiz is, as I have mentioned in the weigh-in, he looks drain but has a good chance to rehydrate and I think he did here. Probably there is no rehydration clause that he could easily be gaining back some fluids in his body. Ortiz might have won some early rounds but Loma took over the latter rounds for me so I don't see any robbery here.

So Haney is watching in the background and he might be the obvious fight for Loma next year.

It because Ortiz also did try his best to upset Loma, that early rounds exchanges of punches he really did great but the IQ of Loma and that speed throwing a combination gives him the advantage, People around this sport especially those who are waiting for Loma to challenge Haney will still continue to show interest, both fighters have good IQ it will be the executions of their strategy that will give them the win.

Both sides for me have good advantage, more on how they will really adjust in each strategy, experienced wise both are good

That's right a win in such kind of fight after a long time of absence still amazing and he got some experience on how he will gonna need to improve his skills in order to have a chance to defeat Haney. Sorry mate but that's okay because it's almost a win because Loma was also able to hurt Ortiz, unfortunately, there's no aggressive follow-up which intention is to bring his opponent down.

As expected Loma, though started with early rounds of pressure on Ortiz, still started a bit slow.  Ortiz could have taken the early 3 rounds but as usual, after all the observation and adjustment, Loma is able to take the majority of the round resulting in a UD win.  Though I do not think that the 117-111 is just, the fight is really close.

He's young and still have a potential to become a best boxer, with just few losses doesn't make his career ruined, actually he need a challenge to fight with a good boxer to become better. In this match we're see a clearly difference about the technical skills between Lomachenko and Ortiz, Ortiz want to dominating by launch more punches but his punches doesn't count for the point since most of them are get blocked by Loma's gloves.

A good fight, I think we will see Lomachenko vs Haney in the next year.
