You did a nice job of letting your friends know about bitcoin and the forum. I commend you for your enthusiasm for taking such a step. Am also spreading the same awareness to my friends by letting them know about bitcoin. It seems not an easy task but we are getting there gradually. thanks to this forum for embroidering my knowledge towards the teaching of crypto to them
It is really that commendable for those people who do consider out on sharing information bitcoin or crypto as a whole.Even though in small scale but at least you are still spreading awareness which is really good since this would be talking about awareness and recognition in overall.Teaching up the one you do know or simply with your friend does somewhat help on spreading up about its existence which would really be adding up in overall recognition which i had said earlier but not all people would really be that mindful on about sharing up this opportunity because it could really be that hassle and most of the time where people doesnt really believe about its potential.

Even if they have no experience with Bitcoin at all, I am pretty sure they were really interested knowing more about Bitcoin. You do not have to be so interested in order to learn something. It kind of reminded me when I was learning C# and C++, while I was not fully interested in programming at all, but all in all I was still curious to how programming is done. When you get serious about it, you're definitely going to just invest time for yourself more and learn more about the in-depth knowledge. Going back to the topic, surely money is not the motivating factor for OP's friends. Bitcoin might have volatile price but I don't think you would just learn about investing in Bitcoin due to its volatility alone.

A good initiative, and indeed a good target for introducing bitcoin is the closest people such as family and friends. Because it's not awkward to teach it because we've met often and are also used to chatting so it's easier to explain it to them, and do it as usual when we get together and discuss. And the difference is only slightly serious when teaching it. I also do this initiative with my friends and family and so far they have felt the benefits and can also exchange ideas when gathering, and my advice is not to be too serious when teaching so that they feel happy when we teach it, and also easy to understand because they are people -close people who I think is easier. It's different if we do it with strangers, there must be someone who doesn't appreciate or is indifferent.

the activity you do is a good activity, namely by teaching about bitcoin to those who do not know about bitcoin. and Honestly I remember my first experience, when I didn't know about bitcoin. until finally my brother came and he told me about bitcoin, and at that time I became interested in bitcoin. until finally I decided to invest in bitcoin.

this is a good move mate.
I also have taught my family more precisely my brothers. even to my neighbors and friends.
But I use a different learning approach. where I use direct practice in learning. so it doesn't take much note or write it on the board.
like I made a direct BTC transaction practice. and my brothers and my friends also do the practice directly. so that it makes it easier for me to buy an item from my friend. without having to exchange my BTC on the Exchange and withdraw it to a bank account and then withdraw the Fiat from the AtM. I rarely do that. now I am with my friends and relatives more transact via bitcoin directly. so that its usefulness becomes more pronounced.
and I also show hands-on practice when it comes to bitcoin as an investment. Of course I explained the risks too. and let them decide whether to enter or not on their own. and unexpectedly now they are even more active in investing than me.
even basic knowledge about bitcoinpun they become more proficient and know more than me. hahaha it's really ironic to see my friends and brothers become so much smarter in bitcoin business nowadays. although they still like to ask me about trading analysis. and I can only explain what I can. and again they seem to be getting better at trading hahahaha.
My approach is to make the people around me curious. so curious people will be much more receptive to knowledge. because their brains have become open to new insights. Small steps like keeping a bitcoin basic knowledge book on the table in the living room where the family relaxes more. at first they ignored the book. but when they get bored, they start to touch the book out of curiosity and start turning page after page.
I haven't been able to formally educate like the OP. maybe one day the OP's method will also be used.

After seeing Mr.Magkaisa's post, I decided to teach my friends a little about Bitcoin. I know them through university, they are 25, 27 and 35 years old respectively. A few months ago, we talked about our work, and I told them that I am a member of a Bitcoin community.
Okay now, I see what is going on. Bitcoin education is going everywhere from the classrooms in Africa to the living roommates of bitcointalkers. I'm super glad. Your friends look teachable apparently because you have shown them the endless possibilities of bitcoin and now they want to be a part of it. One of the most efficient methods of learning is through the use of text, videos and audios. It makes learning super enjoyable. In addition to the book recommendations, I have also taken the liberty to recommend so podcasts about bitcoin that may also be helpful. 1. CoinDesk Podcast Network 2. Bitcoin Audible3. Cryptocurrency for Beginners 4. Crypto 101 5. The Gentlemen of Crypto I hope it helps. Goodluck. Do let us know the outcome of your lessons.

If only I have the courage to open Bitcoin to my neighbors then I shared all of my knowledge about it many times already. Unfortunately I don't have and the problem also is that, most of my neighbors aren't investing or just by looking at their daily lifestyle and what they are doing with their money, I don't even see them saving money at all so I think that they aren't interested in investing as well. On the other hand, if there is somebody that I know who is investing into Bitcoin, I will try my best to share my knowledge to them and I will teach them some basic things. It's always good to see people teaching Bitcoin to others. That's only a few people right now but that increases the adoption of Bitcoin and over time, more and more people will try and involve themselves not only in Bitcoin but into cryptocurrency. I just hope that you didn't tell them that cryptocurrency is a "quick-rich scheme" because of how it moves during a bull market . JK but 10 for the initiative and the effort .

This is something that is quite good by introducing things like this to the closest people and actually I also feel that before we introduce things further, it is better for the closest people to be taught about bitcoin so that when they have a desire being here at least they have a basis that can be used as a reference to support them being in bitcoin. There are some pretty good threads that can be taught there and you can take a look at some of the links given because I think they are really useful.

I also did the same thing.... and some of the first things you learn from this training is this : 1. How little people understand about Bitcoin. 2. How much myths and FUD needs to be debunked 3. People do not know that you do not have to buy a whole bitcoin. 4. People are hunger to learn about new technology. (also how to make money) 5. How resistant people are to change and how much pessimism are out there. One thing that stand out above all of this is ==> People think Bitcoin is a "Get Rich Quick" scheme and they want to see instant profits. Good luck with your training...... hope this gets much bigger in the future and that you will become the next Andreas Antonopoulos.

This is a great initiative. More and more people need to know about this. Genuine information is very important when it comes to anything that is new like the crypto market.

teach bitcoin to your friends and so on, that's a good thing, and the action you take is the way you teach bitcoin to your friends, that's a good action, especially in today's world economy is declining so by teaching it to your friends about bitcoin, it's a good step because it will open up good opportunities for them, namely in the economic field, and I think a lot of people are helped economically by investing in bitcoin. so your action is good.

I appreciate what you do to teach your friends about bitcoin, I also teach my friends who want to know about bitcoin but have a different way of practicing it.
I don't have the expertise like a teacher who writes and explains it in front of many people, but I explain while chatting casually and opening a laptop explaining how bitcoin with what I give them the basics as stated in the link by @Maus0728 there the book is already clear enough so they will understand a little to live the learning.
When my friend already knows the basics of the online book that he is reading, then I will certainly teach you about other things such as trading and other types that do not understand, so indeed after reciting this to my friends, at the time of gathering, the very happy feeling we discussed was always bitcoin and price predictions.

It's true, as you said, teaching bitcoin to friends is a very good step, because by giving them knowledge, our knowledge will automatically increase, we have nothing to lose, by helping them we will also get our own share, because the name is helping people other times we will definitely be helped by other people too, because of my personal experience, after I taught them about bitcoin even now our relationship is getting closer, like family relationships, I am very grateful to anyone who has taught bitcoin to others, because you saved their economy.

For now, I will teach them about buying, selling, and holding Bitcoin, and I'll use YouTube for video tutorials. Also, maybe I'll buy a book about Bitcoin (if I can find it); if not, I'll have to download a book and print it out.
It looks like this will be a long complicated course since you took the path of "Bitcoin economics". I do hope your friend finds Bitcoin an interesting subject. And after they learned about Bitcoin basics, I think the next step is tackling Bitcoin trading to take full advantage of them buying, selling, and holding Bitcoin. Btw, great effort there teaching your friends about Bitcoin.

Thats good and very useful move, me too Im also doing that since 2018, not just for Bitcoin but also in many other popular cryptocurrencies in the market, until now I'm still educating my friends who are interested in venturing into crypto, and started from crypto 101 up to wallet set up and how to trade using the app, I also noticed that the interest to know more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is increasing dramatically not just my friends but also in other people.

PS: If you have friends who don't know anything about Bitcoin, start teaching them. Believe me, you will be happy after each meeting Good to have the mindset of teaching our friends about Bitcoin and the profits both in knowledge and cash that acrue in it, but when it comes to teaching anyone it should be those that have showed an interest with a burning desire, not just because we feel for the person as a friend that's why we wanna teach him or her but because the person as a friend showed a driving interest. Only the interest alone is a motivation to the teacher!

PS: If you have friends who don't know anything about Bitcoin, start teaching them. Believe me, you will be happy after each meeting I've tried multiple times, however I always get the same response after a few months. They tend to forget about everything we've talked about, and don't use that information that I gave them to do their own research. However, I'll admit that might be due to me being a awful teacher, I'm not sure. I find most people that I come across are interested in Bitcoin in some way, but ultimately it's a little bit too much work to understand it, since it's not a easy thing to understand right off the bat. I've never attempted a class room teaching scenario like you've done above though, only really had one on one conversations. I think I've convinced one person to be interested enough to believe Bitcoin might be a better alternative, but to my knowledge they've yet to get stuck in.

Really nice initiative, for me I told many of my friends and relatives about Bitcointalk forum because I am sure that they will learn everything they need to know about Bitcoin here, in this wonderful forum there is a lot of valuable information about Bitcoin so it is necessary for all members to invite their friends to know about this forum if They wanted to learn Bitcoin. Personally, I don't think you need to look for a book about Bitcoin because BitcoinTalk contains everything you need to know about Bitcoin more than any book.
