You should always use autotuning. The S9s are getting old, i suggest you use a conservative value of 1280 or less. You can also try to match the original factory speed if you want. In any case, the machines probably need maintenance and perhaps repair. Many many many people run them non stop. but at the very least do scheduled cleaning.

Using Braiins OS+ with autotuning enabled does in fact extend the lifetime. If problems develop, the tuner will catch it and readjust as needed, with manual tuning the problem would remain unattended until the chip fails. If you want to focus in longevity, naturally lower values are best.

The best efficiency value was achieved at power limit 900W with target temperature 60° by Bas Laurier (70 J/TH). S9s running like that should essentially last until the parts break from being old which is normal for them anyway.

Okay thanks for your reply.
Right now most of them use the default 1420W as max. I will try and reduce it as you suggested. Cleaning is part of my schedule - the place is quite clean though. Repair is very difficult because I did not find reliable people for that here in Europe.

Do you know anything about the Bonus-Problem?
I usually get about 0,3-0,4 % Bonus instead of 2 %

The last time someone mentioned this, it was a miscalculation on their part, or not noticing that 0.0000001 is 10 satoshis and not 1 (people are lazy). If you still want to, you should open a ticket in the pool and send screenshots, etc.

Is there a way to run S9s at even lower voltage in the future?
Seems like 7.95 volt is the limit?!

Any way to set or try 7.5 or even 7.0 volt?

Those limits are there because of the hardware. The best you can do for S9 is use Autotuning and lower the power limit.

Good idea... I imagine you want drops below 500Mhz, let the electronics workshop ask, how can we make that change for hardware... and if we gain better efficiency...

I have a problem with my S9 miners on BraiinsOS+.
I had about 100 S9 running about a year ago. about 80 were running on BraiinsOS+ because I like the interface, the options and the knowledgebase.
I use them with Autotune and I had good hashrates with most of them. (branded 13,5TH - most reached 15-15,5)

Now less than half of my S9 are still alive. Most of them lost all their hashboards ("no asics found" etc.).
Maybe I`ve done something wrong? Should I not use the autotune-feature when they are supposed to run longer than a year?
Had the feeling my S9K (no BraiinsOS available) have a much longer lifespan (to be fair - they were brand new while all S9 were used ones).

Another problem I was facing: My Bonus on slushpool was way (!) too little. I guess it has something to do with me splitting the hashrate to separate slushpool-accounts, but the support wasn't able to find the reason. It makes not much of a difference - but it is still little annoying.

Thanks for your ideas.

You can't marry a firmware.. we are miners.. we need to get our investment back.. Many people in this btc thing don't risk anything, so they are cold..
Try all the firmwares out there... Vinish, hiveos, braiins... do it individually... and you'll be able to raise some dead miners...
