Its not really money that seems to be the motivating factor but power. Money gives you the power to purchase things or services that you would like. Without money you do not have that power. Money is the storage of value, which is the quantity of the power you can exert, basically.

I disagree - even people who are not living in a poor country are greedy as well.

I mean think about it this way, if the rural areas didn't produced then urban areas couldn't eat, but if urban areas didn't buy them, then rural areas wouldn't be able to continue living neither.

There is a reason why cities are getting bigger salaries compared to towns, and that's not only because rent is higher, it's also because the jobs there are worthy of bigger salaries as well. Yes, in my religious teachings, the main purpose of life is worship. We must have that foundation first to form a personality and become a guide for living life. Uhmm it does not apply to everybody. Though it's somehow true that the goal that money can buy could be the motivating factor, but then again it does not apply to everybody. I knew many people who work hard and work smart to fill up their bank accounts, they don't have specific goals anymore after they bough their house or car. They are motivated to earn more money so they can buy or be ready financially with whatever will come in the future.
Still, it is the money that partly motivates you even if you set a goal for it. Most of us tends to do overtime, extra work, and a side hustle to earn MORE money for us to reach a goal faster.

What's your take on this?

Money answereth all things according to even the holy bible. And with money and proper knowledge, I'm certain a whole lot of things will definitely go right.
And I really don't think following money is bad and the value you talked of can't be easily obtained without money as people tend to respect people with money. I heard of a saying sometime ago that "WITHOUT MONEY, OUR ADVICE IS NOTHING BUT MERE NOISE" I felt that so hard and it seemed true because people don't usually see value in the advice of a poor elderly man, but would rather choose to take advice from a young wealthy man.

Hence money is the motivating factor and without money, so many things might go wrong but with money, definitely life is easy and sweet.
