I will consider it as gambling as you use real money to buy in-game characters to look cool or getting good stats just like Dota 2 but Dota 2 are more on cool or awesome character designs and no stats increasing items since what they sell are most likely skins and and no stats booster items as far as I know but I do know in other game which youe character will get strong by topping up in-game currency by spending lots ot money. I have experienced it myself buying in-game currency and trying my chance to win it but that game only sell game skins to look cool and if there is then it's only +8 attack for all items/skins.

For those who don't know, a gacha game is a genre of video game where players pull, spin, or roll using an in-game currency to receive a random item. I think playing with bigger funds and having consistent winnings can become an addiction with time if we are not care of the way we play games and the urge we have to earn more winnings. Gambling is a spirit and if we let it control us then we might miss the track and end up becoming a weak gambling falling prey to the easiest feelings.
Self control matters here and this can aid us from easily gaining a bad habit from the way we do things wrongly. I don't thimk I have played this kind of games often but I will try and get more hint of playing it with success.

This is the only bummer regarding Gacha games but if you are enjoying playing it then I think it is OK as long as you are enjoying it you will really never care if the game is already scamming you without you even realizing it,

In this case, even though they are wrapped in the world of games, it is clear when you look at the characteristics of gambling that they may be included.
Gatcha is one of the things that is really difficult to avoid when you meet games like this because there are indeed some characters or even very rare costumes but with little chance.
Many people even lose a lot of money in hopes of luck.
Incidentally I personally also played one of the games in which there was a gatcha like this and it is undeniable that I lost a lot of money for the character I wanted in the game.

I agree, Gacha games are created to be enticing. Making people to spend their money in order to get the desired items.  Its intention is not to give equal value but to exploit the need of the players and milk them of their money.  It adds excitement not to the game aspect but to the wagering aspect which is considered gambling.  If the game developer intend not to milk their player then they can just put a flat value and let the player buy it straight. Instead they wanted to rip their players off by introducing Gacha items that has less than 1% of acquisition.

I happen to watch a streamer streaming his gacha event.  He spend around $1k (it is already huge in my country and the equivalent of more than 2 months of salary for a regular employee) and as a result, he gets lots of potion that is available in-game without even getting a single premium item.

Game streamers always do things like this, they don't know if there's really a need for them to do it or if they just want to attract viewers for the number of views they need.
Actually, for a streamer like this, especially for someone who has a lot of followers, this doesn't have a big impact because the income from streaming and the number of views they receive are actually comparable, even more worth it. But for people who can be said to not own the platform and join in, this is clearly a bigger loss.

These are mere fun and doesn't make any sense. Just on getting premium products the character gets more powerful. How the developers are making these kinds of games and letting people get addictive. Whether it is gacha or some other form of gambling, limiting ourselves with a fund is a must. Going out of the limit causes financial difficulties and lead to addiction.

I have been playing Summoners War for seven (7) years now and I have heard countless of stories where people spend a minimum of $1,000 without getting anything that is useful. In addition, there are tons of videos on YouTube where people spend thousands of dollars in the game without getting as much.

I do recommend that people browse through their reddit page as there are tons of whales in this game where they have their nightmares and stories about spending money.

At least, Epic Seven as a pity counter where it guarantees you to get the monster after summoning 120 times. Unlike in Summoners War, there exists no pity counter.

It's normal for those who like spending in the game to see how strong they can get.
IMO, it's not really a gamble. It's more of they have money to spend and it gives them a pleasure to see their characters trying to be on top.

Before, we spend money on MMORPG just so we can get in the game. It will not even make us strong.
Now, gacha games are mostly free to play but to feel the essence of the game you will need to spend real money and buy things that cannot be received just by grinding.
The downside, you cannot sell them. There's no profit back so it's not a gamble.

I think for the rich players yes but for the poor players spending big is not their typical thing but they can spend less (gambling) and see if they can get the item at a cheap price. A gacha game account can be sell afaik. There are markets on them usually in social media because some are hoping to get a bigger discount if they will buy the account directly instead of topping up the item themselves.

You may not want to do that.
Buying accounts is prone to scams because most of them are bound to the e-mail address which means the seller can still access it by using a secret phrase to recover the mail and then the gacha account.

This is where NFT will be a great help because of the market it provides where the seller will have no authority with the account anymore once he registered the account to the market. IMO, that's the safest way to buy an account or if you really know the person who is selling.

Such games of chance were common in the distant past.  For example, the ancient Aztecs played football with human heads, and the members of the losing team were killed.

As far as games where the game item is the payoff, the game item can be thought of as nft.  NFT will become a very common financial asset in the future. 

And, probably, it will be very interesting for people to receive nft as a prize, and not fiat money.

Maybe that's why people have to spend more money to get very rare characters. Even then, they haven't been able to get them right away. Maybe this requires better self-control considering the amount of money we use can be bigger than other games. So before you spend a large amount of money, you should think twice about buying it and never exceed your budget so you don't regret spending it. But fans of the game won't think about it because they only think about getting these rare characters.

There are players who always want to be on top of the game and don't want to be left behind and I guess they are also players who will spend a lot for this game. This is actually exciting and interesting for gamers who gamble at the same time.

It's fun, but at least they can calculate how much money they spend buying characters or other equipment that can support their game. Although I've never played this type of game, I compared it to other strategy games with almost the same type of character or equipment and I found that in several people who played the game. They buy many items so they can be at the top of the game and beat their opponents easily. And games are designed to make people addicted and if there is a gambling factor, this will keep them from leaving the game, even if they have gained something from the game.

If I'd like the game so much I would likely get out money to support the game, and sometimes just to fast track the way I would get stronger on that certain game, If I would like any certain games I would anticipate getting much money just to get an item or a hero, just like what I did with the Marvel Future Fight game there are premium heroes that you can surely choose, but there are Gacha items that are likely very hard to get because of the Gacha system involve, so I rather pay for certain Items that I surely like and will likely get those specific items than getting items at random, there are certain Gachas like these,

By the way, this is a good way to fight the urge to spend money on a Gacha game (at least it works for me). When I google videos or reddit pages or discord channels where whales post their records, I get a complete understanding that no matter how long I play and no matter how much I spend (to the best of my modest abilities), I will never compare with them. So I think - oh, to hell with it, I will play without spending money and without much effort, just for fun.

It depends on the person who owns it and what type of value that a person think about it where the value of the account could be monetary value, functional value, social value and psychological value.

I understand why you don't consider it as gambling because you can't win money unless you sell the account which I think reason of that or I may be wrong about it. I have seen it myself where a person created multiple accounts where he spend money to those accounts for a chance to win cool items or skins and then he sell it more than the money he spend which is profitable for him or some even found some bugs to exploit just to be able to get the desired items which the cost of getting the item is low compared to not exploiting bugs or issues (That's years ago to be exact and that's a different story). Anyway, gambling is not all about risking your money to earn money. To be exact, gambling has different types as I call it. The quote below will explain why I consider this as gambling.

1.) play games of chance for money; bet.
e.g "she was fond of gambling on cards and horses"

2.) take risky action in the hope of a desired result.
e.g "the British could only gamble that something would turn up"

As you can see, the second is about "take risky action in the hope of a desired result" and when it comes to gacha game and other similar games where you can spend money to buy in-game currency that can only be acquired by paying real money which the in-game currency will be use to buy items hoping (taking the risk) you will get the item you desired.
That matter aside, I really do understand why you don't consider it as gambling as you have your own reasons why but to make things clear as much possible, the reason why I consider it as gambling is explained above. You have your own reason and I have my own. As you can see some people also considered it as gambling and some people are also the same as you. What I noticed many times is that most people will think right away that it is a chance of earning money by risking your own money when they hear/read the word gambling.

If you are asking if the person is addicted or not then I would definitely say yes because if that person is spending huge amount just for in game items then he must really be addicted to the game.
We can surely play games to an extent and buy some instore items but spending huge amount is something that only an addict would do.
It might also be a choice by preference but that is something when you are a millionaire and you don't know what else to do with your money.
