When they scored the first goal I thought Spain would win the game. England responded, it was a very exciting goal. I would have been happier if it was a match in which we would see more goals. Let's see if there will be a team that can score a goal in the last minutes and become champions.

First half done, England is really on the receiving side of this match, Spain is really pressing them, they only awoke in the final minutes of the first half. Spain has the possession but can hardly properly penetrate the English box 18. They need to be more creative to overcome the English defense. Walker is doing a very good job stopping Williams from unleashing mayhem on the defense. Williams changed wing and he still changed with him to continue his checkmating his excesses. Saka is invisible in this match. I think Southgate is lacking the good choice of players to put in this match. He really needs to introduce Palmer to have a proper impact on the Spanish defense and create something good that can really convert. I'll propose he removes Saka and put Palmer for greater effectives of the forward.

The first half was goalless, but Spain dominated. England need to make a lot of changes instead of just defending well, I mean they need to go out and attack and increase the pressure on the Spanish defence. Without Rodri in the second half it might have been different for Spain, so England could have taken advantage of this.

And now we both see that Spain has taken a 1-0 lead at the start of the second half through Nico Williams' goal. Lamine Yamal created a good assist which was maximized by Nico Williams, clearly this really hit England's mentality. It is clear that Spain will be just as dominant in the second half and they will increase the pressure so that England cannot develop their game, but there is still plenty of time for Gareth Southgate if he wants to change his game and strategy.

Palmer the game changer had entered and the game changed considerably, all of a sudden Saka is now active since someone meaningful is now feeding him proper passes and good support.

Palmer is a supersub and the moment he step his feet into the field he equalized the goal giving  England the opportunity to be hopeful in the game. This was the same thing that he did against Netherlands after Palmer and Watkins came into the field there was a good ball work which Palmer made the assist and Watkins scored the winning goal.

Spain is pressuring to score the second goal to give them victory but it has not been possible since few opportunities that they had was not use.

Finally, Spain has taken the lead again as Oyazarba was able to make a good finish after he received a pass from Cucurela inside the 18 yard box. It is over as Spain has taken the lead, I don't see how England will able to equalize the second goal. It is 2-1

South Gate just happens to be someone that has made the most tactical changes within his squad and almost with immediate effect through the whole tournament. Each time he makes a change, the effect is immediately seen on the pitch.
He’s made yet another change that would have been questionable, having to remove Kane for Watkins when ordinarily, you would have expected to leave Kane and maybe go for Foden, just to have two attacks but no, he brings out Kane and brings on Watkins, soon after Cole Palmer and the game is changed completely.

Full time is upon us, with Spain lifting the trophy with a very late equalizer from Cucurella assist. England and Kane continues their trophyless plight. What a costly mistake from England to target full time draw, thereby turning to full time defensive after palmer's goal. I was thinking they would continue the pressure and get something better. After trailing 1-0 to Spain, Gareth Southgate had to make several changes including making several rotations. Kane and Mainoo were sent off and replaced by Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins, of course the results were very positive where Palmer didn't take long to find the goal. I thought England had been a bit better after they went behind and now the score had gone to 1-1.

The second half became more interesting where England and Spain gave their best performance, especially when Spain took the lead and England equalized.
It's just that looking at the game, Spain is still the best and it was proven in today's match that they were able to win with a score of 2-1 in today's final.

England had to accept this defeat even though they have many good players, but failure is still unavoidable because I don't really believe in Gareth Southgate's ability and formulate a strategy. Initially, it was obvious that Spain were favourites to win the championship. In fact, it became clear already in 1/4 when they beat Germany. They played with the most difficult teams, unlike England and this is their absolutely deserved result. He really surpassed expectations as there was skepticism over his ability to take Spain far but not only did he take them far, he also succeeded in winning all seven of their matches. They are undoubtedly the only team to achieve this feat.
 As for England; second defeat in a row and honestly they weren't any match for Spain as their inadequacies were exposed in tonight's game and I guess Gareth Southgate can now rest, knowing that his poor tactics managed to take him to the final but gave him the same results as they have been getting for the past 60 years: NOTHING!!

What I don't like about England's game is that when they are behind they play well but when they manage to equalize the score it delays their game to become boring and it becomes a blunder for themselves.
Palmer's entry into the field has brought the rhythm of England's match to be better but it cannot be maximized properly.

However, it is undeniable that the final 10 minutes of the match were a joy to watch and if Dani Olmo had not been in the right position it could have been in the final minutes that England equalized again and the match ended in extra time but Spain did not want that to happen.

Eventually, Southgate seems to have been the very person to have let the England team down. Yes, I give him credit for having made those crucial substitutes at the point that did mattered and his substitute proved to be a very effective one but, there was no reason for the team to seat back and try to defend or hold off Spain for the rest of the game. Just how did he think that would go? He ought to have urged his players to be more attacking, force Spain to play a more safe mode kind of football but, no, they let Spain come forward and I didn’t get the chance to enjoy that extra 30minutes I hoped to see in this game.
