Whoever keep their composure in this match will win the match. Wirtz was able to give a life line to Germany at the dying minutes of the first half to extend the match into 30 minutes extra time. The pressure that Germany mounted on Spain was too much that made Spain unable to resist it till the 90mins.

Interesting second half as both teams was able to put in their best performance to make sure that they don't get eliminated easily. Spain made some changes that might affect their performance because Yamal and Williams and Morata are out who are good attackers. Fantastic performance of Germany national teams after success comeback on crucial minutes with effective substitutes made by Julian Nagelsmann, Florian Wirtz's second-half substitution for Leroy Sané was very effective despite having to wait until the final minutes for Germany to equalize. I think Spain national team manager Luis de la Fuente made any fatal mistake by getting out Lamine Yamal after creating his assist for Dani Olmo and other replacement Nico Williams make Spain have downtrend performance with attacking line.

Few minutes the extra time have begin and excited waiting for 30 minutes left who will be the winner or any potential the first quarter final round  must finish trough penalty kick. Both teams like to play open rather than being defensive. It would be a shame if none of them scores. Pedri picked up an injury by the way and I hope he is okay. He has a really bad injury history at Barcelona if you don't know. He is very injury-prone unfortunately together with being a talented player at the same time.    Anyways, let's see how the second half goes...

My favorite in this match is Germany, I also think the team that wins this match will play in the final.

I think the Portugal - France match is certain, but Portugal can surprise.

Situation is very interesting as things are heading for the quarterfinals of the Euro 2024 with first game is one of the best game in this event as we are having host Germany after years having spot into quarterfinals and Spain which is currently one of the best team in this event with their performance as things are going mostly are feeling Spain having edge, but Germany is going strong as host nation and their performance is also much better in last few games.

Olmo is a Spanish player and not a German player. The first speak was saying how Olmo was able to put Spain ahead of Germany and was saying if the match ends, he would likely be the hero.

Germany managed to force Spain to play longer and this certainly became more interesting. Germany's revival at the end of the second half was natural considering that Spain no longer looked balanced since Olmo scored. Germany should have made good use of several goal opportunities, but they failed and got lucky in the 89th minute.

Now extra time has started and I don't see Spain really being ready to win this match. Germany pressed very well and created lots of chances, of course this is a sign that Germany is starting to get better and is ready to win the match. Spain will certainly be more difficult now and rightly noted that now Spain do not have its three strikers and if Pedri is out due to injury, then as I think Morata and Yamal could still be useful, especially Yamal, he is young and strength he should have.

Spain came in with an excellent start in the second half with their substitute Olmo given them the lead just in 51mins with that fabulous shot with that constructive pass from Lamine Yamal. Olmo didn't waste a sec launching the ball behind the Germany goalie so calmly, a one touch hit.

Can Germany give a response in this game against Spain?  They had that comeback with Switzerland just when we all thought they are put of any possibilities. Looking at the situation, am just left with no choice but to ask if there's a hope still.

Well, Wirtz F. had to cancel Olmo second half early goal at the 89mims just when we didn't saw that coming. That goal brought a lot of smiles back to the German fans, so electrifying, which beg the question of who's really the hero of tonight's 90mins Full Time play in this match.

So much pressure from Germany as they had to react after conceiving that goal, with a lot of great chances forcing the Spanish defense to bow at last. I think this German tran deserves some accolades. The game is now headed to an extra 30 mins to be played.

It is indeed a very difficult game to predict, both teams are well equipped with world class players, Spain has a very young and talented squad with the likes of lamine yamal, Dani olmo, pedri, Rodri etc and on the other hand Germany has a seemingly young squad with some experienced players like Toni kroos and Ilkay Gundogan in midfield to enable the German side have a balance at the heart of the midfield in every game they have played so far, both teams play possessive football and also attack massively, hence it is expected that this match may produce lots of goals tonight when both teams meet in quarter final match tonight.

That's a blunder from spain to sent out yamal and nico. After fuente pulled yamal and nico out from the field, the gameplay of spain is changing drastically. And germany is much more dominant in doing attack rather than spain. I know many Spanish fans are disappointed with Fuente's decision because of he replaced Yamal and Nico. Germany is also attacking Spain more intensively since spain lose all of their main attackers. It's bad for Spain.

They got the better of Germany in the 28 mins and regained control of the game and it went in their favor from then on but what happened to give Germany the goal just shows that sometimes it's not how well you defend, because when the goal got in, even Simons was left rooted to the spot, utterly confused and equal parts frustrated that despite their efforts to see they end the game as winners, the hosts still found a way to break through.

 Indeed, the both sides are asking questions of each other but it wasn't a wise move by la Fuentes to take out Williams and Yamal as they both were playing essential roles at in their respective wings. Maybe he has his reasons though.

Apparently, both teams are already tuning up for the penalty shootout and the main task for both teams now is not to collect yellow cards, so that at the next stage they will not have to play with a reserve squad. Germany out! The equalizer of the regular time was a joy but the extra time goal was heart braking for German supporters. I usually do not watch football but since this was a high voltage match, I was watching the match while I was working. It was a good match after all.

The winner of the Spain-Germany match was Spain. They eliminated the Germans in the quarter-finals at home with a score of 2-1 in extra time. Now they have reached the semi-finals and are waiting for their opponents in a comfortable situation.
