Spain came in with an excellent start in the second half with their substitute Olmo given them the lead just in 51mins with that fabulous shot with that constructive pass from Lamine Yamal. Olmo didn't waste a sec launching the ball behind the Germany goalie so calmly, a one touch hit.

In the match between Spain and Germany my bet was in favor of Germany but I'm not unhappy with the result because Spain performed so well that's why they won and Spain definitely qualified for the next round.

I think Spain played very well, I didn't expect them to play this well. Germany was not as good as I expected, they missed many opportunities. Ronaldo has a new record in this competition of playing in five games and not scoring any goal. He has done his best and needs to really give other players a chance to shine in this Portugal team. A good game played by Portugal but the only thing I see that is not good in the CR7 team is converting chances into goals they completely failed as a team to do so and in a match against France similar thing happened and things got interesting and match result should decide on penalties. It would be unfair to only blame Ronaldo for these failures because if you see the whole match (including their previous matches), it will be obvious that Ronaldo doesn't get many good passes from his teammates when he is in a good position to score.

Lets blame the coach because he was supposed to glue the team together but he did not. What you say is quite reasonable, the foul committed by Toni Kroos on Pedri instead became a way for Dani Olmo to shine in that match, where Dani Olmo was able to score 1 goal and make a good assist that ensured Spain's victory over Germany. But I have another perspective. If only Pedri hadn't gotten injured in that match, I think Spain would really win control of the game, and most likely they would win without having to go through extra time because Pedri has exceptional ball control and astuteness in reading the game.

the thing is telling too much on him and that's possibly the reason why he hasn't retired because he's still full of himself and is still trying to prove a point at the time he's supposed to have retired. Apart from the love we have for him due to his past performance at real Madrid and Manchester United, looking at his play at Al Nasir and even throughout this Euros, he's been all of himself and less of a team player. Was a bit devastated because they couldn't win in the penalty shootout but it didn't reflect that much because he didn't loose the penalty he took. If he had lost the penalty in this match you would have seen a strange kind of cry and reaction. It all goes to show that he's more of an individual player than a team player and you can't win a match and lead a team with that kind of mentality. I wouldn't fancy the idea of Ronaldo playing in the 2026 FIFA world cup even if he's being called to do so but with what I'm seeing, his impact at Al Nasir might reduce next season and that will play a great role in determining if the coach will ever look at him as an option to consider.

Sometimes I ask if the coach is afraid of subbing him for another player, all these things that's happening I believe all Ronaldo fans will always have something to defend his attitude towards the team. He doesn't know when to give up, is good to have that kind of mentality but when age comes calling you just have to take a bow for the younger generation to take over that spotlight. It was a very painful mistake for Germany, because they had to concede in the final minutes before the penalty shootout. A look of sadness was visible from the German players, especially senior players such as Muller and Kroos. Yes, of course they are very sad because this will be their last EURO.
There was hope when Germany equalized at the end of the second half of normal time, and they forced themselves to play in extra time. It's like destiny chose Dani Olmo in this match as this player lost his position in Spain squad throughout this Euro 2024 but the injury of Pedri gave Olmo a chance to join this quarter final match very early. Then he shined with one goal and one assist to help Spain beating the host of this tournament, Germany.

With this good performance, Olmo will probably be chosen in a Spanish debut squad for the semi final match with France. Pedri with his injury will no longer be able to play in Euro 2024 and the quarter final match costs Spain a lot with several yellow cards and as I remember Carvajal will be suspended next match.
