I don't think it has anything to do with Mbappe. The media said he's fit but if the France coach doesn't call him then he has his reasons. Benzema been in the squad will not hinder Mbappe in any. Even Messi couldn't stop Mbappe from shining. They don't lay the same wing also. Then there's the issue of Giroud. He's been very decent in the world cup and scoring goals, bringing Benzema to the mix now might just kill the rhythm of the team. Not to add that Benzema is not in the form he was last season that led him to win the balon d'or.

True about France squad as they could easily line-up another great squad and still be competitive but it's really sad for Benzema to get injured right before the first game as he really wanted to prove again for France and World Cup was his perfect opportunity.

That story is very wrong because I have read Benzema statement by himself about his injury and giving other people the opportunity to go  represent the country very well.

Having said that, I am in complete agreement with you.

As much as France are saddened by the loss of Karim Benzema to the new generation of football, they have pretty worthy replacements in Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud to replace him.

It has been a great year for Mbappe as he has already scored five goals at the World Cup. I was really impressed by his performance after watching the knockout round match against England, which was the fourth match he had played at the World Cup, and as a result, his performance was really commendable.

I am pretty sure that if France is able to qualify for the finals, Mbappe will be able to score double-digit ~8 goals .

It is really sad to hear about this bad news for Bayern Munich. They needed Neuer in the second half of the season the most in fact. Because the Champions League is getting more serious from now on. Bayern Munich have already had a very tough matchup against one of the biggest contenders of the title which is PSG. I don't think Ulreich can perform near Neuer's level.

After this incident I have started to think about if Bayern Munich would think of signing a more reliable striker in January. There would be some good options like players whose contracts are ending in 6 months. I think they will think about that.
