That was the match I was rooting for the most, Brazil vs Argentina are two huge rivals and it would have been awesome to watch the two teams meeting each other. Same as Spain vs Portugal, would have been a nice rival match as well. For my initial predictions for the finals at the start of the worldcup I expected France to play against Brazil. I had three small bets placed on Brazil, France and England to win the title this year. So I am already hedged in case France is going to pull it off. But my large bet I am going to be placing on Argentina. Both teams are pretty equal and the match could go either way, but I do think Argentina is more hyped to pull it off. Messi has been fighting for so long to get a worldcup title that it feels like his year now. It's going to be a nice match to watch tomorrow. And then there is also the game for the third place today. I expect Croatia to win, but not sure if I will place a small bet before the match.

That is a problem for Brazil, if Brazil lost to Croatia then it is normal for Argentina to win an easy game against them. If Brazil moved up, maybe they could have beaten Argentina, just because Brazil lost to Croatia and Croatia lost to Argentina doesn't mean that Brazil would have lost to Argentina neither, that is not how football works, everyday is a different day.

However, they lost that chance when they failed to score for so long, and even worse is they couldn't defend, if I was Brazil, I would have put all 10 players into defence and if there were any subsititon left then get defenders right away. Instead they kept on attacking, a huge huge amateur level mistake.

I just hope Argentina wins this one. France has already won the previous Cup and Messi deserves the victory after so many years of playing and trying hard. Sometimes playing alone and carrying the team on his back for his nation.

I am not a fan of the Messi-Ronaldo feud, but after watching this World Cup so far and seeing how far Messi has come with his team, he deserves to win the World Cup and add to his football achievements. This is his final World Cup appearance, and I want him to win it. However, given the quality of both teams, predicting a winner in this final match will be extremely difficult. Argentina will need to put in more effort than they have in the past to win this game.

I don't think it's necessary for anyone to consider the impact of Messi in this World cup tournament without bringing the full Argentina squad in frontlines, no doubt Messi contributed so well to help his country but his teammates must also be applauded for doing an excellent job in the field because without them Messi can not do it alone.

Now considering the achievements of Messi in his football career, Messi has been the all round leading world best player an award that most great players are yet to receive till they retire so it doesn't matter if Messi ends his career without a world cup trophy or not but his name and that of Ronaldo who is yet to win the World cup will always be remembered in the history of football. Yeah... everyone was waiting for the Brazil vs Argentina clash. As per the schedule, these two teams were supposed to meet each other during the first semi-final. But Brazil never managed to qualify for the semi-final, as they lost out to Croatia in the quarter-final. On the other hand Argentina managed to get past much tougher opponents (Netherlands) in the quarter-final match. And now coming to Neymar, I don't care whether he stops his international career or not. He should have focused on football rather than making controversial comments about politics back home.

It's always great to watch the matches between Argentina and Brazil but unfortunately, we did not see a match between them in this year's FIFA world in the knockout stage.

There is some confusion related to the next edition (2026 world cup). FIFA was initially planning to have a total of 48 teams, with 3 teams in each group. But Qatar 2022 has shown that having groups with 4 teams each can increase fan interest and competitiveness. So they are having a rethink. All the last four teams tried their best, I love them. Yet, the low usage of C. Ronaldo pained me much, and Portugal deserves to pay for it by losing, they had a better chance if given C. Ronaldo more chance than Messi.

Besides, no one would watch Argentina vs France match and will not say that France deserved the winning. I wouldn't give them the praise in the first minutes of the match, but the later parts of the second half changed the whole narrative, but it was too late when they geared up. @Agbe it seems that Messi doesn’t wishes to retire from playing for Argentina for a while at least, but there’s no way possible for him to play for Argentina at the next World Cup hence they should immediately start planning for his replacement for the 2026 World Cup.

Furthermore I brought this up before and I’ll repeat again i.e. will fan’s really be happy to see so many team’s, because I personally feel that it’ll make the World Cup boring to watch as there’ll be too many one sided matches.

You forgot to mention that Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup for the second time in a row, which is clearly not a coincidence but an indicator of the crisis of Italian national football.
As for the rest, the European and South American national teams are still better than the national teams from other continents and achieve better and better results at the world championships, but this difference is getting smaller and smaller at each world championship, and the Asian and African national teams achieve better and better results at each the next world championship.
It is no coincidence that South Korea was fourth at the 2002 World Cup and Morocco fourth at this World Cup.

The final was totally  under Argentina control they were all over the game from the start , although Mbappe tried his best to change the course but he didn't succeed in that .
Congratulations Argentina on  becoming football champions for next 4 years. Messi deserved this win undoubtedly he played final like a fighter his energy level was too high.
