im afraid since we didnt break 7.20 in the latest wave unless we are still in it that we wont be seeing 8 quite yet.
Seems this rocket is sputtering out! Trigger finger stands ready on "Rocket is taking off! $8 today?!" thread.
We need a dip to 7 first... any bears left? How about an extra long bull who doesn't want to be greedy? That would be a nice gesture for sure. I could use a few more as well!

It seemed to be sputtering earlier also for a couple hours but then continued up. Hopefully the same shall happen here.

as I said before, 7 is now support
any ask below 7 will be greedily obliterated

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable. Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

The viscosity of oil?
Looks like the pitch drop experiment. Each drop takes, on average, 8 years to drop. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_drop_experiment

Bitcoin: the only currency you can store directly into your brain.
What this planet needs is a good 0.0005 BTC US nickel.

Found a quote from Ineedausername from last November:
"Re: Is the price slowly climbing? November 30, 2011, 10:47:29 AM mtgoxlive is very damn exciting right now! edit: BIDWALL AT 2.95 let's see $3 today!"
That was six weeks ago, and now were already at $7.
That's why I am long term bullish on BTC.

Part of this 10 day chart shows a support path to $7.20 in the next 12-24 hours. If we break below $7 in any significant way, we're probably heading for a correction. Edit: We just hit $7.17, new high, the glide path is there!

We just had a new high which is a positive sign. The rally continues.
(Update)
And yet another high of 7.17
We will see 7.20 by the time I wake up.

Someone just removed their 2500 BTC ask at $7.1999. The wall is thinning.

Right now all I am seeing is jokers trying to create divergence from their shallow positions. There isn't going to be any significant movement until someone decides to take on a substantial amount of risk.
This... although a private group could coordinate and split the risk.
