Looks like the API is stuck in the infinity groundhog loop again.

I was watching the charts moments before the buy and it was interesting that a few large walls were taken down from the ask side several seconds before any buying began.  Wink

I wouldn't be so quick to rejoice. This looks pretty strange to me. The back and forth is crazy on the charts, and mtgox.com seems utterly oblivious to any of it. My orderbook is stuck th eway it was several minutes ago. Something seems to be bugging out, but what, I can't say.

This happened during one of the recent previous large spikes.  I think it was the large buy immediately after the giant short squeeze.  MtGox's reporting got stuck in a loop for several minutes and the order book got all funky.

If you refresh btccharts you'll see it's all back to normal. Wall is back at 6.0 and the spikes are gone. Something's wonky.

A ton of people seemed to put up sells all the way up to 6 hoping to take advantage of the repeated buys up. Though it was probably just the api going freaky, and essentially the whole orderbook filled right back up as though no spike ever happened.

Sorry guys, I think this may be an API bug. Try refreshing your chart. The sell price at gox is at 5.67ish as far as I can tell, and I tested that by setting a small order at 5.56, which went through.

OK, I don't know what is going on. Currently mtgox.com is showing me a buy price of 6.0ish and a sell around 5.7. I think it's time to just sit by and wait to see what is what.

The problem is that the ask and bid walls are not moving with the live events.

when you hit refresh you get the wrong or old "ask bid" positions.

We are at 6 now
