Good news from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau. He said, they the management have discussed and come to to the conclusion that they will introduce the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). And he also said that the management will send some of the referees to study at abroad to understand the VAR very well to assist them.

This is a good news and development as they are following up the new technology tto make things easy for themselves.

I think he only stated this to make the media people present excited. The league this season has been interesting and lots of hypes and audience; even Kano pillars scored 5 goals away from home this weekend.

The league does not need VAR today, TODAY; THE LEAGUE NEEDS BETTER CAMERA ANGLES; to make the league games watchable for locals and international fans; after that is achieved; then they can start implementing var technology.

VAR without enough standard camera angles in games is misplaced priority

One of the biggest problem in this Nigeria league is the TV station to watch. Many people like to watch match but no station view the league and that is why this thread too is not moving like other threads in the gambling section. There are many things the management still need to set up in Nigeria Football Premier league.  And as you said, those are some of the things they need in the game. Since this league has started I have not follow up. So I don't have any update yet.

What is your opinion of what is happening in the Super Eagles with Osimhen, Finidi and NFF. And from what I read today NFF said, what Osimhen did was not automatically bad because Finidi started the drama. And from my own point of view I don't really care what happened between them and all I wanted was Super Eagles to qualify the 2026 World Cup. So for Finidi to blame Osimhen foe his downfall is a very big shame.

I have heard from Victor Osimhen say on this matter based on a video clip which he published, from his he said that he has an injury which he then informed Finidi George about, that first he tried to reach out to him on a phone call but couldn't but chatted him and telling his present condition which affected him from not participating in that qualifying match they lost, whereas Finidi George disputed the fact that he was having treatment over an injury and went ahead to say he was the major cause why they lost in that game. But to me, I doubt if the absence of Victor Osimhen caused their lost in a real sense when we have other players in the team.

I am yet to see any video or watch the interview were Finidi George said those things about Osimhen, i am not saying he didn't say it, all i am saying is why am i yet to see the video, because i believe he was taken out of context, please if you have the video, send me the link.

That being said, even if we agree Finidi did indeed say that, Osimhen's actions were wrong and unprofessional, we have seen managers throw their players under the bus, Erik Ten Hag did it with Sancho, when he accused him of training poorly, Pep also did it with Kalvin phillips, when he said he was overweight, etc, the players didn't come out with an outburst, saying so many unprintable words and insulting both the manager and the fans, just as Victor did. The NFF have said today that Victor Osimhen would be banned and i support that, at least until he tenders an apology to his former manager and to Nigerians in general.

Aside the TV station, there supposed to be a serious priority over the local matches by the citizens in other for them to make a global fame, this also in other ways will have to be a serious challenges because the government are not in full support of developing the sector, we have to understand all these as part of the constraints, also, this issue of finances is what also determines how they take the local leagues and matches to the next level for recognitions.

what transpired between osimehn and finidi is a two way narrative. From the literal point of view, it's very wrong for finidi to bring osimehn into the equation at the point he wasn't doing well as the head coach of the super eagles knowing fully well that osimehn had prompted him of his injury of which he aggreed that it was right for osimehn to stay out of the camp even when according to osimehn, he had insisted to come to the camp to cheer up his team mate. If the super eagles had performed well in the absent of victor osimehn, finidi would have received the praise for his ability to creating something out of the players even when osimehn and Troost ekong were not available. Osimehn has every right to be angry at finidi most expecially when you're looking at how he went about the whole statement as though osimehn wasn't ready to help his country qualify for the FIFA world cup.

The other Angie which didn't make too much sense is the approach with which osimehn reacted to the statement. We know that he grew up in Lagos and that sometimes that gingering spirit always comes out when he's angry even in his team but as a world calls footballer who is currently holding the title of African best player, it obviously goes above being good at football but your attitude matters alot. His response was rude and the abuses were unnecessary. By every standard, finidi is old enough to be his father if his football age is correct and you would expect some sort of cotesy from him while he was speaking in the live video he created.

I guess it's possible that he got the information and couldn't hold himself again and did the live video the spot. Social media don't forget things and believe it or not, regardless of the de decision of NFF to discipline him or not, his action is going to speak bad about him if not now, in the future when he would want to take up any administrative responsibility in the team  I just hope he can forget about who is right or wrong and just proceed with rendering an apology to calm things all up.

The same thing here but I have seen Victor Osimhen part of the story. But remember Victor Osimhen did not insult any fan or person but he said those who believed what Finidi George said are cursed and that means he didn't insult anyone and only those who believed the unqualified coach. And I believed you did not support what Finidi George did and I also know that your interest was for the Super Eagles to qualify in the World Cup and not all these dramas.

At first Finidi George would have included William Troost-Ekong and that is the number one fault from him and according to the Osimhen voice note, he begged Finidi George to visit the stadium to encourage the boys since has injury but Finidi George refused and what Finidi George said before the reaction is not known by any Nigerian.

You're yet to see the video but have taken a conclusion already? SMH! I find it irksome when the so called elderly, legends and superiors do not respect themselves. What do they say about it again? Respect is Reciprocal, Yes? Finidi George disrespected Victor Oshime despite knowing very well about the current status of the player as he was personally informed. Why go on to the media to still say such a thing?

So Finidi as ex player and current manager wasn't unprofessional? It's a different case from that of Pep Guardiola and Erik Ten Hag. You're not getting this completely.

I have not personally seen the clip or post made by Finidi, but then if it is actually true then it's an absolute mess to call out a player whereas he knows what's actually the problem why the player couldn't make it to play with the Super Eagles. I watched the live video made by Osimhen and I felt the pain and aggression in his voice, he is very much willing to play for the team, while on that injury he also insisted on accompanying the team to camp and help elevate the team spirit but the offer was turned down by same Finidi. Finidi should have no one to lay the blame on for his incompetency to manage the team.

In my own opinion i think both of them has different reasons in this situation. Osimehn feels that he is not qualified to coach him and seeing Findi's  planning and direction does not seem to be one that can yield positive result in the team. On the other hand Findi feels that the presence of Osimehn in the Super Eagles will give the team more strength and boost the agility of other team member. Meanwhile for him to be absence means that they may not qualify.

In this situation, i am not in support of anyone, i believe that they are matured to understand that this is a professional football career we are talking about here. And that they should leave every argument and grudges aside and focus on the goal ahead to qualify to the World cup. Because i won't be happy if they do not qualify with the way they are going about these days.

I am judging nothing here, i am only being objective. Erik Ten Hag and Pep made disparaging comments about Sancho and Kalvin Phillips respectively, the comments were made openly in their press conference. If truly Finidi said what the media reported, then he was also out of order, but i would like to watch it myself, so share the video please!

Reports have it that Finidi has called Osimhen to clear the air after his unsavory attacks in that infamous Instagram live, so the right thing for Victor to do now is to retract his statements and apologize, like a professional that he is.

I don't support that apology or whatever. If they don't want Osimhen to play in the National Team, it is very simple let them just tell him to leave. The interest of Super Eagles fans is for the Super Eagles to qualify the Forthcoming World Cup and nothing more. Even in today News blogs were saying that NFf has banned Osimhen from the team and NFF social media platforms saying they didn't ban Osimhen so the whole the too is not even clear for the fans again. And till now nobody has posted what Finidi said.

Well let see how their last game will play out. And that is their last chance to qualify in the World Cup.

Finidi George appears to be questioning Osimhen commitment to super eagles and in my opinion he shouldn't have done that. We all know how committed Osimhen is to the super eagles, his dedication shouldn't be question, he has been playing for the super eagles anytime he gets invitation, I don't see any reason why Finidi George should come out and say that to the media. Finidi should publicly apologize to Osimhen for questioning his loyalty to the super eagles, he should also apologize to the super eagles fans for a the disappointment he has brought upon us, for his poor performance as the coach of the eagles before his eventual resignation. Just imagine a team that got to the finals of the just concluded Afcon, couldn't win any of the two matches he presided as the head coach and he dares question Osimhen commitment. That Man need to be arrested for making the super eagles a laughing stock.

Finidi George is claiming that he didn't make such a statement against Victor Osimhen. He explained that he was making a general statement that he wouldn't beg any player to play for the national team. Osimhen reacted out of anger which is not good for his reputation. He should have contacted Finidi and if he didn't get a good response the next step would have been to report to the NFF for them to take necessary actions. But he decided to go online to make those unruly statements which is not nice.

In any case, Finidi had shown that he could not control big players. He failed to establish his control over the players and his claim that players were forced on him is childish. For God's sake, this is a coach who led Enyimba FC to the Nigerian Professional League title, if he feels that he is been controlled, the next move would be to resist them. If the pressure keeps coming, the honorable thing to do is to resign instead of failing. He would have gotten a new job and gained the respect of Nigerians. His refusal to make the right decision has cost him his job and reputation.

I don't want to sound really negative but I feel the chances of the super eagles actually correcting this mistake of their is going to be very hard and I wouldn't be even suprised if they weren't able to finally qualify for the AFCON due in few months time. Nigeria has a lot of talents some of which are even world class but it's just sad that Nigeria still can't play good football and make things work for themselves.
