Modernizing Saudi society and making Saudi Arabia a global sporting hub are two different things and I hope you know that. The goal is to get people to think that both things are one and the same. Because they sign Ronaldo and other players that have been former European players makes people think that they are aiming at becoming more modern, but the truth is that most things remain the same while these players can enjoy a lot of privileges. Or do you think the average woman in Saudi Arabia would be allowed to live the same life as Ronaldo's wife? Lol of course not, I don't even want to know what they would do with most of them. Indeed, I think Morocco and Japan will be able to talk a lot in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. Both countries currently have a golden generation, and the majority of them play in top European clubs, so they are must definitely teams to watch. You are right in few things but still now it's never been easy to host any mega event specially FIFA Soccer World Cup because it's one of the biggest sporting event and it needs huge funds with many things which are not easy for any country to do so with this new format we can have good chance for few countries which are improving their structure and changing things can host event with the help of neighbouring countries.

Well it could be that since that projection is actually far in the future, the Europeana didn't see the need to rushing into such bid but would prefer having all the time to put their selves in order so they can finally think of possible chances of probably bidding again but for the Saudi, it's an opportunity they foresee as one that may not come again or may take roo long before it may come again so they have to make sure they grab it bay all means possible because they know the attention it will be bringing to them and how it could influence them economically in their bid to be one of the worlds top economic hub , even their football will aswell be influenced in a way that will give them that relevance.

Yes you get my point. This may be off topic but I see Saudi Arabia trying to build and invest in tourism and entertainment to become one of the strongest economies in the world. Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries know they can't just keep getting rich by selling oil. Football is the biggest sport in the world so they invest in football even though as far as I know Saudi Arabia doesn't have a football culture in their country. This is the reason why now when the SPL has world elite players the local players are losing out and are bench players. But in the long term I think Saudi Arabia will have a football culture. And with the money they have they can build many international standard football schools and facilities which will help them accelerate to become one of the best countries in football.

Yes, in a period of 2 years anything can happen, including the retirement announcement of these 2 players. Here is indeed development, but it will be in vain when country has very adequate financial support for football but is unable to create new generation that is truly qualified.
Something different happened with Brazil, they lack everything there even if you look at the football infrastructure such as stadiums it is clearly far behind various big countries in Europe but Brazil is able to create their own advantages in producing quality players amidst limitations, even we all know Brazil is also country that has quite lot of mafia and various scandals in football.

in as much as the they won't really influence the possibility of iether Portugal or Argentina wining the world cup considering thier age, they will certainly want to be a part of the world cup (at least this might be the last one they will feature in.) There may be many Japanese players playing in Europe so that their football is advanced and even almost all Japanese and Moroccan players play in top clubs and even those clubs are all famous clubs, so that's the factor why these two countries really stand out compared to other countries.
