Argentina could not secure victory in the final match of the World Cup qualifying round but I still think this could be an opportunity for Argentina's management to work on the weaknesses of the team before the World Cup starts. Argentina was not trying their best from the start of the game. They played with half of their stars and not looking serious. Meanwhile, their opponents were trying so hard in this game caused by the win is a must for Ecuador to get bigger chance to qualify. Their opponent even sacrificed Caicedo for the opening game of WC due to the red card in this game.

The red card was not just the challenge alone that was faced by Argentina. The Ecuador guys actually gave them a lot of pressure from beginning to the end which was what emanated to the red card and subsequently the penalty opportunity. Yes, Argentina has already secured their spot in the World Cup. So the result of the match against Ecuador is no longer important for Argentina. Bolivia also ended up beating Brazil, and this is a famous win for them as they keep their hopes for the World Cup alive. This is the first match Brazil have lost under their new coach Carlo Ancelotti. No one would have believed his first defeat would be handed to him by Bolivia.

Haven't you been following the tournament from the very beginning. Any Nigerian that watched every Super Eagle performance in previous matches knows that, it will take strong will and luck to win South Africa. Not because SA players are better than the Super Eagle players but because the Super Eagles have been very poor in creating chances so far. The hope of participating in the World Cup is long gone. Why was it disappointing? This match was totally useless for them, they had no interested in winning, they just wanted to avoid any possible injury. On the other hand Ecuador wanted to win this match so they could end in the second spot, which is a very prestigious result for them.

They sure was a lot of cards given out in that game as both sides had foul committed against them even to the point of both sides each picking up a red card. With the squad put forward by Argentina, I too thought they would have scored goals and win the game. But they didn't get a goal in nor did they manage to get a single shot on target despite having more of the ball in their possession.
I would say Ecuador's defense was also up and doing as they successfully tried in blocking some attempts at goal, thwarting all of their efforts. Also, Argentina's Martinez did a good job in keeping out some good attempts at goal from Ecuador. They'll have probably added to the single goal from the penalty kick that gave them the victory.
