what a disaster for Sweden. 0–4 down to the Netherlands after 55 minutes! who would have expected that? the match is far from over. i’m curious to see the final score.
will Sweden score another goal, or will it end up 5–0 or 6–0 to the Netherlands? i suppose I can forget about my 2–1 prediction. but at least I’ll get two points in the Waves prediction game.

I thought Netherlands has an advantage in this match, but like this? No, I thought Sweden would be much harder to beat for them. 4:1 is not a result that is very promising for a Swedish comeback, but maybe we will see history being written tonight for Sweden. 

No, in all seriousness, the Netherlands was in full control and perhaps if Sweden now quickly scores one more goal, the Netherlands could feel more nervous but since there are usually not that many goals in world cup matches anyway, it is not very likely that Sweden will score three more while the Netherlands would collapse. It would be nothing else but a collapse that is needed to give Sweden a chance to come back into this match.

The first match of the world cup suggested that there is more to come from Sweden because 5:1 is never easy, no matter who the other team is and we have learned that now in so many matches. But Tunisia was not the benchmark then.

Congratulations to Paraguay. They deserved the win. Even after going down to 10 men, they defended extremely well and came close to scoring a second and even a third goal.

I expect Vincenzo Montella to leave after this tournament. It was a terrible performance, and the players were poor as well.

Netherland has been lit to tonight, they’ve managed this game so well and are likely the ones to top their group. It’s going to be 4 points for them after they win this match which is that obvious a win for them right now, there is no coming back from Netherland 4:1 Sweden. Turkey being humiliated in both games was not in my cards. I expected them to be group leader, they had a friendly with USA not too long ago and even beat those, who is the best team in the group right now.

So being the last place, no matter what happens in the last game, is a proof that we are going to see them not finish this group well, first place expectations, last place reality.

If Germany can maintain the performance they had in the first match in today's match, then they are definitely going to beat Ivory Coast by a big margin. However, I don't see any reason to underestimate Ivory Coast, rather Germany is a much stronger team than them. Therefore, it might not be wrong to expect an easy victory for Germany. Ivory Coast defeated Ecuador by a 1-0 goal margin in the first match, which was very unexpected for me. Because Ecuador is a strong enough team. Ivory Coast as surly try there best in the first leg but challenging Germany will be very difficult for them because with how Germany play the first leg and achieve three point you will notice that Ivory Coast don’t have the key players Germany have in the World Cup competition this time around, let just see who can get this chance.

Great performance from the Dutch tonight in this game, after a disappointing draw against the Japanese this is the right way to respond as they showed up a very good performance against the Sweden team. 4:1 is a good way of sending a message across to other teams in the competition that, the Netherland is not here in the competition just to complete the numbers and that they mean business this is the type of performance that is expected of a typical Netherland side.



I believe that this team is gradually taking shape because, if you watch today game against Sweden you could see that the attack and even the defense line up was more coordinated and looks more composed than their first game.

It is not a scoreline that everyone thought was possible. I was expecting a really close match and Netherlands winning by a single goal instead of scoring 5 goals. With this loss Sweden will not qualify for the next round after losing by a big margin.

The Dutch are running rampage on the Swedes, on the last game, it was the Swedes that demolished Tunisia 4 - 0, today they are on the receiving end of such demolition. Netherland has gotten back from their draw against Japan with a deserved win today. With 4 points now, although they have not yet officially qualified for the next round, if they are to win against Tunisia they will definitely top the ground thanks to their superior goal difference at the moment. Japan will face Tunisia at the early hours of tomorrow and will be hoping to get their first win against the African team. Let's wait and see if there will be an upset or it will go as predicted.

The failure of the Turkish national football team is questionable. I am wondering how come a team shooting 33 shots including 6 on target with 78% possession, fails to score a single goal. Starting the first minutes with a goal on your net is the worst thing to happen to Türkiye.
Apparently they will leave North America soon unless they defeat USA which is far to happen..

Turkey were just too below the expectations from them. For a quarter finalist in Euro 2024 this performance was simply terrible!

I mean you can have ball possession and shoot a ton of times. But the thing that matters is how effective your attacks and shots are...

60+ shots in 2 matches and 0 goal. Most of them didn't even find the target.    It looks like they didn't come to the World Cup well-prepared.

Since before the World Cup Turkey most glaring weakness has been its strikers. This was evident in their lack of goal getters in these two matches. Entering the final third, they were flustered and unable to score. As a result, they were just dribbling and couldn't create any space. Worse still, defender Merih Demiral long range shooting was more accurate than Turkey own strikers.

I also want to add the statistics you mentioned Turkey had 60 shots in two matches, 13 on target, 63% possession in match 1 and 78% possession in match 2, but couldn't score. This is very painful Turkey dominated but was unlucky, even though this generation of Guler and his teammates is too good to be eliminated in the group stage. Furthermore, Turkey came into the World Cup with great confidence, having a squad that is considered one of their best generations and their attractive attacking game, but they lacked attacking players.

Am surprised how gakpo is scoring lots of goals at his country side because the man has a way of missing alot of chances and I have tag him for that a lot of time,  I wouldn't be surprised if the number of chances he had to miss in this game was more than the few that he scored, I didn't watch the game but coupled with the fact that he got two goals must have shown that the game was an open affair just surprised how Sweden themselves didn't get to score more when they have the like of isak and gyokeres.
