I expect Ronaldo to score in Portugal next game because he's the only big name that hasn't scored yet. I was thinking that Argentina would end the game with a 1-0 lead, I don't know that Messi will double his goal.

Personally I don’t think we are still in this position of comparison years after everything, everybody can have an opinion but let’s be realistic or honest here, Messi been this good at this age doesn’t give anyone the right to actually insult a player like Ronaldo or expect him to do what Messi is currently doing, we could say yes one is the greatest of all time but let’s even look at it Ronaldo is 41 and two years older with months than Messi this is even a good excuse for Ronaldo.

Congratulations for Messi for sure but am I the only one to see Kylian Mbappe just 3 goals behind Lionel Messi and with the difference of age between these two and the performance of the French team then I suppose Mbappe to break the record of Messi by the end of this World Cup or the next one?
I don't know if the games were more intense in the previous decades or if the players were playing less time because I see big names on football there from different countries and they are far from the achievement of Messi and soon Mbappe.

It's undeniable that Messi's performance is truly extraordinary,, as he's scored five goals in two matches,, a feat that's truly remarkable for an aging player like Messi. That's why I don't think he's wrong to be called the best player of all time.. His performance hasn't diminished despite his age. Speaking of Ronaldo, I don't think he needs to focus on chasing goals or chasing Messi's goal record.

He's better off focusing on winning, as points are clearly more important than goals. This is still the group stage,, and goals aren't as important in this phase as points. lol I thought the same thing. Well, I don't expect much excitement in this match. There aren't any powerhouses meeting, and there won't be any big names on the pitch. The odds point to Algeria, but I honestly have no idea if I'll even bet anything. If I do, though, I'll probably lean toward a small bet on a draw, just like you. This one was perhaps the toughest group in the entire tournament. You have three very strong teams (France, Norway and Senegal), and one team that was just to make up the numbers (Iraq). Unfortunate for Senegal. It was almost impossible for them to defeat France, and they lost that match by a margin of 1-3. The crucial match was against Norway. In order to finish at top-2, they either needed a win or at least a draw. They fought hard, but in the end lost by 2-3. The important thing is that even in the matches they lost, they were able to score goals. Ibrahim Mbaye scored against France, while Ismaïla Sarr managed two goals against Norway. Now all they can hope for is a heavy win against Iraq, which will get them to the knockout phase through the indirect route.

The problem with all this was the way Messi was treated by Ronaldo fans when he couldn't win an international trophy with Argentina. They trolled him all day despite taking his team to 4 finals (3 Copa America and 1 World Cup). People called Messi a fraud who could not succeed outside the system of Barcelona. It got worse when Ronaldo won the Euro in 2016.
All these when it was obvious for anyone who watched football to know that Messi was the better player. Fast forward to a couple of years, and Messi has won two Copa America trophies and a World Cup while continuing to be the better player, and Messi fans are just returning the favour.

I don't involve myself in the debate because I know Messi is obviously the better player, but when you say it, people make it seem like you're saying Ronaldo is a bad player, or he's not a great player. Every football fan knows what Ronaldo has achieved in football. We all watched him in his prime lead his team to so many victories and trophies, so we all know what he is, but he is just not a better player than Messi. There is nothing to debate. When it comes to pure footballing ability, Messi is simply too clear.
