Portugal's victory was almost certain, so it's no surprise.

And I'm glad Cristiano Ronaldo woke up. I was afraid he wouldn't show his talent in this World Cup. After this match, I see there's a chance to see him compete with Messi again. I doubt he'll catch up with Messi in terms of goals scored, but it will definitely be great to watch them both.

On the other hand, Portugal isn't my favorite to reach the final, but I'd like to watch a few more of their matches at this World Cup.

Ghana are playing completely defensively, Ghana have come out with a 5-4-1 formation, their only aim seems to be to draw the match 0-0. England are trying hard, but the amount of defense Ghana are playing makes it very difficult to score. I don't understand how the match can go, but the way the game is played, nothing is certain. In the second half England should score a goal first, if they don't score a goal the match will be very uncertain, England are a very strong team, but the amount of defense Ghana are going to play makes it difficult for England to score a goal. Now it seems that the match may be drawn.

If i was told before the match kicked off that England will play up to 80 minutes without scoring Ghana i would have doubted it but look how Ghana has given them a tough match. It still surprises me that despite the quality players in England squad, they still find it difficult to win their matches easily. England only won the world cup once in 1966 and they haven't been able to win it again. I was thinking that since the English Premier League is the most popular in the world that England should be able to also perform better than other countries when it comes to the world cup. Ghana is also a strong African team even though that they are not as popular as Morocco, Senegal and Nigeria. I could remember how one of their best players Asamoah Gyan performed in the 2010 world cup in South Africa.

I wonder what pleases you people. If it's a draw or loss, you would say something, and now that they won incredibly well, opponent's weakness is the talking point. If you must know, DR Congo wasn't a strong team as well, and are narrowly better than Uzbekistan, that's if they really are, but the only difference is that one prioritised their defense than the other. The country that will break the 5-man defence of DR Congo against Portugal would do a very exceptional job, so it's not something to ridicule Portugal about.

The criticism on Cristiano Ronaldo was too much he needed to silent his haters as he always do, and he did it by scoring a brace in the first half against Uzbekistan, now those people who has been saying that Portugal will be better off without him and he has nothing to offer in this World Cup can now hide their faces because they are obviously wrong.

I agree with you. Good for Ronaldo but in this thread I read so many enthusiastic posts... Guys, he scored two goals against Uzbekistan, have you seen their players? If you put this national team in any European premier division I'm pretty sure they would get relegated. Matches like this are only good for the statistics at the end. But, again, good for him, surely he's feeling way better now.

It seems that Portugal are venting all of their frustrations on Uzbekistan as they totally dominated the whole game and thrashed Uzbekistan with 5 goals after Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw by D.R. Congo in their first group stage match. I guess D.R. Congo are having the advantages over Uzbekistan as most of their players did played for Europeans football clubs and the skill quality of their players are indeed higher even though Fifa did ranked Uzbekistan at a Fifa ranking of 50 while D.R. Congo are at 46. I think D.R. Congo should be able to get a victory over Uzbekistan when both of these teams play against each other for their last remaining match in the group stage.

I hope this is not the major concern of Cristiano Ronaldo, he has been among the highest goal scorers in some of the world cup tournaments but now what matters is Portugal to continue winning and the number of goals doesn't really matter here rather they keep winning.

The competition is just starting scoring so many goals doesn't necessarily make you the winners, Ronaldo has experienced that, let his team just keep winning that's what matters.

I'm just wondering how Ghana were so compact in defence that England couldn't penetrate, I didn't think for a moment this game was going to end like this, if someone had told me England won't score at least a goal here today, I would have argued it. They held on to the level, England striker Kane wasn't able to even shoot, a whole Kane had less than 5 shots in the match, I don't even think he has 2 shots on target. Everywhere was blocked, this was the same England that finished Croatia last week by scoring 4 against them and today they couldn't score at least one goal. This group will be tough as it will take the last group match to decide who stays and who leaves. England tops thanks to their superior goal difference and Ghana is second with both teams on equal points.

Harry Kane missed the target from a few meters late in the match so England can only blame themselves for the goalless draw. but they still have an excellent chance to finish first in the group because their last match is against Panama.

England should better up their game play it not they will be going back after the knockout stage. 0:0 FT against Ghana wasn't the best result that was expected from them since they have the level of squad depth in the team they should have taken even chances they created to convert to goals and stop giving excuses that's what good team does. O'Reilly was not lucky if not he would have become the savior of his country tonight but I suggest the England manager do a little better in his substitutions cause his substitutions today changed the game.

But is that not the truth? When he is all about himself what do you expect? We should all face the fact about CR7, he's a good player but making everything about himself will kill the young talented players of the Portugal national team. The first game was a very disappointing game for Portugal, they were all slow in moving forward and if you ask me I'd tell you for free that today was another lucky day at the office for Ronaldo, he got lucky and he's the kind of player that doesn't know when to stop and let others try too, not a good way  to lead. If Portugal play a team like Ghana I don't see Ronaldo getting a goal or two because they have him covered but the Uzbekistan side are one of those teams that share 3pt to their opponents and Portugal saw this opportunity and took it, nothing special about his two goals, he need to work more on being a team player not the kind that plays for himself, it doesn't work that way and I don't want to make it look like I'm comparing him with someone else.
