Portugal was lucky to win their match yesterday. Croatia played very well if not that they cancel some of their goals. They would’ve won the match.  Portugal need to step up if they want to win the World Cup this year because they are not performing as everyone was expecting them to perform when the World Cup started They have world class players, but they are not playing as word class players. They are playing as average players Portugal need to step up because their  win yesterday was just a lucky win.
Croatia did everything they could to make sure that they win the match they put on their best, and their best was not enough.

I agree with you because in the first half Portugal did a good job, but they failed to score any goals, but in the second half both teams were on the same level, but sometimes I have Croatia better, but sadly their chances were disallowed or they failed to keep things on level just because of this injury time goal from Ramos, giving the win to Portugal.

Croatia played impressively in this game but was still not able to have a good result, but now Portugal is having the toughest opponent of this event, Spain. This is going to be a game of the event as well because in case of a win for Portugal they can surely feel great and have a good chance of going into the final as well, but right now they need to have good improvement for this game against Spain.

Whoever the winner of the current game is, it's going to be the end for them obviously... Because they are facing Argentina in the next round if there isn't a huge surprise to be seen.

Egypt started faster than I thought. I was expecting Australia to wear them out in the 1st half. As Egypt scored quite early I think they won't fail in regular time.

Australia have fast attackers for certain but it's doubtful how accurate they'd shoot.

For anything I think I kinda expect Egypt to win this game but there is always one problem with African teams and that's the fact that when they score they kinda go back and try to defend the goal even if they are the more better team in terms of attack and game control but immediately that switch of play happens when they go and sit back that's when the equalizer always come and that's is not good hopefully Egypt don't get to do that.

I'm not comfortable with the one goal lead. Egypt should try to double their goal because Australia can get an equalizer any time to level up the scoreline.

It was a beautiful header from Ashour on the 13th minutes to take the lead. I hope this goal will be able to see them through because apart from Morocco all the Africa teams that scored first in the round of 32 didn't make it to the round of 16.

The match was probaly one of the best matches i have watched, i was on my toes the whole game. The first half went without scoring but the second half was just fabulous. Some people would have been surely left disappointed but still a great game to see. Though i am only confused by how Ronaldo got the Man of the Match because his contribution was nothing, imo leao should’ve got it cause he gave it his all.

It was an end of era as game between Portugal and Croatia was the last game for Luka Modric. It was an entertaining game as Portugal scored the winning goal in extra time of second half. Croatia also managed to scored the equaliser but the goal was given off side and that shattered the hopes of Croatian fans for round of 16.

Argentina will face Cabo Verde in few hours from now and it looks like Argentina will win that game quite easily but they need to be careful as Cabo Verde has not lost any game so far in this tournament.

Obviously Spain is a tough team in this tournament but I think that Spain will be the favorite to win the Round of 16 match between Portugal and Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup,Because every player in the Spain squad is playing with great rhythm. However we noted that Portugal won the UEFA Nations League last season by playing against Spain, accordingly, the Portugal team may be a little confident but we still think Portugal will face a tough challenge in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 because Spain is the champion of Group H in this World Cup and were able to win by a large margin against Austria in the knockout stage match today.

Spain is still angry because of the UEFA Nations League trophy that Portugal won from them, this is a good time for retaliation from Spain despite that it's not a final. This is Lamine Yamal's first world cup; he will do everything within his capacity to help his team win, and this could Cristiano Ronaldo's last world cup, he has achieved almost every trophy but winning the world cup will feel differently so he and his teammates will also work together to ensure they advance further. In summary, it's going to be a very crucial match to watch just like we watched the fierce battle between both teams at the UEFA Nations League final.

I hope Australia can shake off the pressure soon so they can play as well as they usually do. Egypt is indeed a pretty strong team, so if they end up winning, it would be quite understandable. but as the sole representative from asia, it would be quite sad if no Asian team managed to advance to the Roundd of 16 in this World Cup. usually, Japan and South Korea are the ones that always make it to the Round of 16. Unfortunately, South Korea was eliminated early in the group stage, and Japan was also eliminated in the Round of 32 after losing to Brazil. so now, Australia is our only hope. But I’m feeling a bit pessimistic right now.

Egypt has to learn from other countries that has had the lead at the beginning in this round of 32 but ended up losing the match, like Japan, Congo, Croatia, Senegal, Netherland.
Even two goals up isn't completely safe just like Senegal who were up by two against Belgium but still lost the match, I think Egypt needs to continue pressing for more goals because defending is risky business.
But as it stands Egypt has really not put a foot wrong in today's match.

The first half is over and Australia have failed to equalize the score, although they tried to attack, but their attack did not seem strong to me, so I am not sure how much they will be able to turn the match around in the second half, it is also possible that Egypt can score another goal before Australia equalizes the score and can take a 2-goal lead. Because from what I have seen, Egypt's performance is better than Australia's, now we have to see how Australia performs in the second half, but Egypt has a better chance of winning the match.

I really think that Croatia were unlucky to lose the match yesterday,  they really played well and deserve to win. I also think that the last goal that was disallowed was a wrong call, because I think it's a clear goal.
Portugal on the other hand has not been impressive in the world cup, they have just been lucky to get to this stage. I really think they need to improve if they want to go far in this competition.

Portugal was just lucky and I hope for them to get some more luck because this performance of theirs will get them nothing much in the competition except for luck.  Croatia did not get enough luck on the other hand,  and it cost them their chance to go further in the competition. But I really take my hat off to Congo. I’m really looking forward to seeing more from this team in the next World Cup. Because I’m sure they’ll be back in the next World Cup, possibly with even better quality.

Congo has everything to be great champions, but they failed in their physical condition, that's why they couldn't withstand the pressure. After they conceded the second goal, they started looking for the equalizer, but it wasn't like that. It was difficult because they had to make other changes, and when they made those changes, the whole game changed. Many more weaknesses appeared, and that's why the guts appeared, and besides, Harry Kane seems like an alien.

To be honest, I didn’t expect England to secure such a dramatic victory , as I’d initially thought they’d win this match easily, but it turned out that Congo put in such a good performance in this match. Congo really had all the England supporters on the edge of their seats , and, quite unexpectedly, they managed to score just moments after the match had started. England tried to make up the deficit , but Congo put up such a strong fight, and the Congo goalkeeper was in impressive form in this match.

There’s no denying that England have great mental strength and composure , so their play seems to be gradually improving, and when the chances come, they’re able to score their goals . What a dramatic comeback that was.

I think England reached their peak in that very difficult game. I think England will have a very hard time advancing in their next match. I don't even know who they're playing, but if it's France, with a team like that or Brazil, I don't think they'll make it. They need a lot of luck to keep progressing, but it was very difficult for them to get through, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for them.

I hope Egypt can keep the score up like this or even score more goals to win the match because other African teams that had the opportunity to lead the scoresheet in this same round of 32 all lost the game because they couldn’t withstand the pressure and lost the game when they all have the opportunity to win the games.

I knew Egypt was going to do better because they have an opponent that have similar team quality, so anyone can win the game between them that’s why I am a bit convince that Egypt will probably proceed to the round of 16; they played well in the first half even though they have created not more chances than their opponents.

One of the most controversial matches of the current World Cup, Croatia can consider themselves unlucky here. Although I think the referee's decisions were right, Croatia's defeat was not acceptable. After leading 1-0 in the second half, the penalty incident was very unexpected, and even in extra time I did not expect a goal from Portugal. Croatia's last attack was the most controversial and heartbreaking, if that goal had been legal, Croatia might have had a last-ditch effort. But due to advanced technology, the goal was declared illegal.

Although Australia is now starting to mount attacks on Egypt’s defense, it looks like this will be really difficult, the score might even stay 0-1 until the end. That’s because Egypt seems to be staying fully focused on not leaving any gaps in their own defense. But personally, I’m still hoping Australia can at least tie the score before the 80th minute. Only then will Egypt start playing aggressively, and the match will really heat up.

The scoreline is currently 1-1 as an own goal was scored by M. Hany on the 54th minutes. Now that the scoreline is has been level, it will be difficult for Egypt to win easily because Australia is back to the game. However, Egypt isn't happy with that own goal and they have been pressing Australia defense in order to score again and take the lead.
