The match between Switzerland and Colombia wasn’t particularly entertaining. The game ended in a scoreless draw in regulation, and the score remained unchanged in extra time. Although Colombia took twice as many shots as their opponent, they struggled to score throughout the match. In the penalty shootout, Switzerland defeated their opponent 4-3 to advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face Argentina. We can say this was an important victory for Switzerland. I thought their roster was better than Colombia’s, but Colombia was the favorite in this match.

Same here, I watch Portugal games and support them all because of Ronaldo, the only time I wouldn't have supported them was if they were playing against my country. The best team won which was Spain and frankly Portugal were lucky to escape with just a goal. I do hope Ronaldo will retire after this so these players can enjoy themselves as they have always wanted. Bruno can now take the lead and become the main man as his also wanted, I hope they win everything from now on because it seems as if they were doing everything possible to be kicked out of the competition. Portugal plays as if they are one amateur team.

A very disappointing match I hoped Colombia would be able to win the match but it ended in a draw, I got two defeats tonight the country that was favored and lost for gambling, losing on penalties is not a painful thing that they were unlucky in this match, luck was on the side of Switzerland right I also saw that the calm atmosphere of the players was much better Colombia the Swiss players looked calm in this match, even though several times they almost conceded, with the saves of their goalkeeper who should have got the best player in the match.

Because it's the World Cup, every team is playing very carefully. While France seems to be the favorite in the match against Morocco, Morocco should never be underestimated. If these two players can make a difference, France will have the advantage against Morocco. Otherwise, it will be a match between two evenly matched teams.

Something that would have been quite unlikely considering how they played against Egypt yesterday. Egypt played well and entertainingly enough to put Argentina two goals down. Suddenly, everything changed as the 80th minute approached.
I think you're probably aware of what's happening with FIFA under Gianni Infantino. Many social media users have already left a digital trail of how he reacted to each team's performance at the World Cup.
Whether true or false, in his last interview with a media outlet, he clearly stated that he was a fan of one of the contestants, Argentina.

they have a lots of top players but imho one of the worst decision by portugal boards is select Martinez as a coach. he is such a terrible coach without proper strategy. look at belgium national team when he work here as a coach. a golden era without major thropy. so i must say he is the main problem here. from here i expect portugal boards will sack Roberto Martinez asap.

Yes, it is true that each person has different preferences and everyone has the right to say who the best player of all time is. However, I do not agree with what you said about Messi being given an advantage to win. Because although I do not understand the rules very well or I do not have the knowledge to interpret the matter correctly. However, I have seen in several places that Messi is being given an advantage and that is why he is winning, but in several places it is also being shown that the fouls that are being commented on were not fouls. Yes, you’re right, and I’m one of them. I watched Portugal’s matches because of Ronaldo. As a huge fan, I was so sad when Portugal lost to Spain. I couldn’t even sleep last night after seeing my idol cry at the end of the match because Ronaldo’s dream of winning the World Cup had to be dashed. But I’m still proud of Ronaldo, yes, even though he doesn’t have a World Cup trophy, he’s made a huge contribution to Portugal. The world will surely miss him when Ronaldo retires from soccer. Here's an update to the odds winner. France leads the way to win the world cup trophy, while Spain at 2nd and Argentina at third. It seems to me word cup is gonna win by one of those nation.

Nevertheless i'd prefer to put Argentina at first, France at 2nd, then Spain at 3rd. So far Argentina was the country who has faced toughest and unexpected opponents.

It's better to walk away when you're on the verge of another historic record but can already see that younger players are outperforming you. I don't see much point in him continuing to play at the highest level. It's clear that he can no longer match the younger generation in terms of pace and overall ability.

Do you know why I was even angry? It's simple, those Egyptian guys never believed in themselves, period! I didn't care about who wins that match, but it's so annoying that after you were engraced with 2 goals to nill, you couldn't defend it, just because of pressure, but the psychology to counter it is simple. If Egyptians, instead of playing the cowardice, they had meted Argentina with much fire and pressure instead of allowing them to pressure them while they only attempted to defend, it would have played out differently because it will balance it. It's only psychological. The best form of defense is attack, and that would have neutralised Argentina's pressure.

I saw the Egyptians as Senegal, it was so annoying that they had to score 2 goals and before they started playing weak, defending became a problem for them that hanging on to the ball for long is a problem. This to me was too easy for Egypt to win because ones Messi became weak to cause damage they would have kept it that way but it happened that after Messi made that move that Martinez missed the chance of scoring things changed and a different Messi was activated that was when it became bad for Salah and his teammates. In as much as I wanted Argentina to advance I never expected the performance to be this bad for Egypt, African countries immediately lost that knowledge of playing football whenever they face European sides.

He's 41 years old and still playing at the highest level. That alone should be a source of pride for him. For many players, he's an idol and has achieved successes that will never be repeated in football history. Portugal is very lucky to have him. He will retire as one of the two best players in world football. Perhaps it's time for him to retire now. Hopefully, he'll soon surpass his goal of reaching 1000 goals.

Bro! there is nothing simple about the situation the Egyptian players were at. obviously, it was looking like they were playing against the referee and that the game was fixed against them. all the poor officiating decision that went against them is enough to demoralize any team and once things starts going wrong for a team, it can even get really worse. this is just very annoying to think of and as someone that believed that after their second goal was made void and they still went on to score another that they deserved the win, i have not gotten over that loss. it is extremely painful.

Fine, that referee could be aggressive at some point, but that shouldn't be a basis for demoralisation, as these guys are professional and the officiating was reasonable to a good extent, IMO. Where they got it wrong was by not meeting pressure with pressure. If you noticed, shortly after the Egyptian second goal, Argentina started became hungry for goals and were extremely coordinated and professional while mounting extremely pressure on the defence of Egypt. That's where Egyptians needed to gear up. That was the only saving grace they had. If they could measure it up with Argentina's status at that time, the field would rather be balanced instead of cowardly trying to defend when they are not so good at that. But if they had mounted extra pressure with accurate passes and vicious attacking instead of defending only, Argentina might luckily score only 1 goal. That is where boldness and self-belief comes in, it's psychological. Egyptian team lacked that.

Argentina woke up after suffering a lot of pressure and goals, the refereeing honestly wasn't the best, it really gave a bad impression towards the Egyptians.
But Argentina amazed me how in the first phase they were under so much pressure without being able to recover.
