it means enjoying the act of gambling. what I meant by it, is, not worrying too much about the profit or the losses, the main focus is to enjoy gambling. sure I'd love to end the gambling session with a profit but it won't bother me if I don't. I guess the amount of money that I gamble(which is small) is the reason why it doesn't really bother me when I lose.

We can't deny the fact that, we're also aiming for the profit and that's the part of "having fun" in gambling.

As long as you gamble within your capacity and budget you'll get used to it when losing. I am not really doing gambling on a daily basis but my friends has really budgets daily or sometimes weekly that they can spend on , meaning if they lose that is only what they need to spend . They mostly say that if they lost it on that day it is okay to them since they are used to it and they had lost more before/ It really depends on the mindset of the gambler, fun is always there, have you tried played that even if you lose there are tone of laughter in the game? that is the true fun!

Gambling for fun is the standard phrase I have been using when answering why I gamble so much. Since I am 18 I have been playing all types of casino games and get asked by friends and family from time to time, why I invest so much time and money into gambling. My answer is always the same, I gamble for fun. But like you said, gambling for fun doesn't mean that I am not interested in making a profit and become lucky one day to win a big jackpot. Placing wagers on a game makes the game much more realistic in my opinion and I need to be more focused as when playing other games that are free. My big passion are cards, I like all types of card games since I was a little kid. Especially Poker is my favourite game that I played for such a long time. I think it is more about enjoying the game and participating in the experience and excitement of the game rather than just focusing on the outcome. You're absolutely right that gambling for money, or professional gambling, is different and requires a stronger decision-making process. I mean obviously there is something in it for me too, so its not like I don't want to win, but if I would calculate the expected outcome, it would make no sense at all to gamble. I think the majority of us hold gambling as a fun experience. We enjoy it. I don't gamble that often neither on sports nor on casino games, and when I do, I am pleased to say that it's for fun and to pass the time. I always want to win, otherwise why would I play? And that's where I agree with the OP. If those profits and wins don't happen, the losses aren't going to affect me mentally or cause financial turbulence to me or my family.

Gambling for fun can have different subjective interpretations. What is most important is that the money you lost wasn't meant for something far more important: health, work, food, bills, bank loans, etc. If you can maintain that and keep that in the back of your head at all times when you gamble, it will never become a problem or an obsession.

it's a great way to not add to the stress we get from work. we go to the casino and play for fun. no burden will require us to have to win. playing for fun is great.

The house don't enjoy losing money too. Making money is the casino's job. Not yours. Your job is to lose money.

I think you haven't experienced the happiness that brought to you while you are playing , like both of your opponents are laughing because of the cards or the gameplay even you will lose you will still be happy. The only distinction to be made here really is gambling for fun or gambling as a career. The only people really falling into the second category would be professional skilled people like poker players able to compete at the highest level, who are able to make a consistent profit because they have higher skills than the majority of their opponents or have a knack for reading people. They might be able to grind a profit without necessarily having a fun time of it.
