For any team in the Club world cup, it means they totally deserve to be there. Real Madrid although they were able to come from behind to win their game against Villarreal yesterday, I think the team is facing some crisis and are not doing well or being as reassuring as they were last season. If any of these teams that you've mentioned that Real Madrid will play against in the club world cup has a very good strong defence and are able to get themselves two goes up when they Real Madrid, I don't see Real Madrid coming back from that easily like in their Spanish league and even going to head to win the game.

Yeah but 2 years is still not enough I suppose lol. They still need to think about the qualification and playoff system for the teams besides the tournament itself, which it would take another schedule for teams to play that. The shortest way is to take 4 teams that played in the semifinal of their main competition in each confederation. But it will be unfair to UEFA that have many high quality teams if they are allowed to send 4 clubs only. Uhm there is a lot things to do for FIFA and I dont think 2 years is enough

I am sure that Fifa will select the teams based on the rankings of other leagues like the UCL, Libertadores, and the other continental Champions Leagues.

Fifa posted the tickets are on sale right now. I suspect Spanish fans of Real Madrid will travel to Morocco to watch the possible 2 matches, since both countries are close to each other.

VAR decisions will be explained to fans via the speaker systems at stadiums during the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

Video referees will explain what is being looked at during VAR reviews and publicly break down the process of how decisions are reached.
Television viewers will also be able to listen to the referees' communications.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the explanations in Morocco will be broadcast in French, English or Arabic.
The move is part of a trial by FIFA.
If the first trial goes well then FIFA will extend it to cover the men's Under-20 World Cup in Indonesia in May and then the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in July and August.

I always hope to see a team outside Europe to win, but it will be hard, maybe Flamengo can play in a high level to try.

Among all the teams listed in the OP , I only know about Real Madrid, the other names are all strange to me, Maybe this is because i am not actually that much into football games that are outside the normal world cup, like the one that just ended in Qatar last year..

Real Madrid being a popular team and one I've watched several of their matches, I would definitely agree that the cup might be an easy win for them, this is personal opinion though, like I said, I've never watched other teams on the list play, except for Real Madrid, I do have limited knowledge and also limited view to predict accurately .

and I also admit that I know few teams on this list, I only have a greater familiarity with Flamengo and Real Madrid.
European teams tend to have a greater chance of winning in these championships, I have no doubt that they are the favorites, but after what happened with Morocco in this world cup in Qatar, anything can happen in football....

The current format leaves a lot to be desired as there is not really too much of a competition taking place as the sole European club has too much of an advantage over the rest of the teams, and it is because of this that it does not garner too much attention at all as the quality of play is also low, however with the change in the format in the tournament planned for 2025 it is going to become way more interesting, but while FIFA is ready to support this format it seems it has not been approved yet by the confederations, however I would suppose Infantino would not have made this proposal without having enough support within FIFA to get the necessary approval.

Well I dont think it will get more attention by changing the format, because the winner will always be from europe. Beside that, it will impact the players themselves, which their risk to get injured would be much higher. I think FIFA only trying to get more monies from sponsorship, after seeing UEFA able to create Nations League and Conference League.

I think the updated format could bring more attention to the tournament, after all the regular world cup is similar in the sense European teams dominate but South American teams can win it as well, as it was the case of the most recent world cup in which Argentina won, now when it comes the schedule a longer format will indeed impact the players, then it would be best to change this tournament from being held yearly to be held every four years just like the world cup.

It caught my attention too, which I dont understand how it could affect the VAR decision. I often imagine that the communication between referee in the field and the VAR reviewers is full of bad words such as "yo wtf why didnt you tell me earlier", "oh shit there was no offside?", "man that bastard deserves red card" and now they cant do that anymore when everyone can listen them

I think it will be as boring as International Champions Cup, where this tournament even have bigger teams playing. However, it could depend on the money prize offered by FIFA and its sponsorship. Well.. you may be right there. Auckland City is relatively unknown (at least for me), but Al Hilal and Al Ahly are well known teams. BTW, Al-Hilal is unlikely to face Real Madrid. First round is between Al Ahly and Auckland City. The winners will proceed to take on Seattle Sounders FC in the second round, and the winners from this match will face Real Madrid in the third round. Flamengo will face winners from the second round match between Wydad Casablanca and Al-Hilal. BTW, I am hearing about Wydad Casablanca for the first time.

The odds of 1.38 are not so good, but of the last 5 matches Al Ahly won 3, draw 1 and lost 1, while Auckland won only 1 and lost 4, easy win in my opinion.

OK.. I just checked odds in Stake.com and there also Seattle Sounders are given better odds when compared to Al Ahly SC (2.50 vs 2.80, with draw at 3.25). Given the odds, betting in favor of Al Ahly looks attractive at this point. Anyway, this match is going to be really close, as it is between teams of almost equal strength. Also, the match will take place at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier, and this may give a slight advantage to Al Ahly as well (as the weather conditions in Morocco and Egypt are similar).
