Smart consideration that I didn't think about. But my approach to this question was different than yours although I did not conduct any statistical research on that, but I assumed that getting right one to score and the other player not felt very unlikely, but I say "felt" because I can't really back it up with anything.


I did well in the past with betting against a top scorer scoring or assisting. This might be subjective, but I believe I have been right more often than I have been wrong. But as I am thinking about it now, I guess you may have the upper hand statistically. The point you mentioned that both are penalty takers should not be underestimated and I didn't think about that. Perhaps you have outsmarted me here! 👍

It only happened two times that both strikers did not score on the same matchday. It happened five times that both scored on the same matchday and five times that only one of them scored. I know it is not perfectly representative because the matchup makes a difference as well, but just as an overview this could be interesting.

Whenever it's about goals and you deal with highly attacking teams like Liverpool and Manchester City, I feel like penalty outcome is very high. And both Salah/Haaland convert high percentage also.

I agree, BSFL I always went against score/assist question except Messi in season 2 and had high rate of greens.

This season I went No with Lukaku and he scored 4 goals LOL

Davis cup in this format is useless competition and it is really depressing to see Davis cup played in front of empty stands.

I didnt know tennis can get even more boring and depressing than it already is.
Hours and hours of guys hitting the ball left and right, that only makes me fall a sleep easier.

I have been wondering for quite some time whether these Davis Cup games really have the status that the players repeatedly emphasize. But do those games really matter to the top players when there are Grand Slams, ATP 1000s and perhaps Olympics to be played? My feeling is that they don't really care. It can't be compared to football and games of the national teams.

I don't agree that Davis Cup games are boring. Maybe in this format, but in the previous format where one nation was always playing at home, the atmosphere could have been compared to that of a football game. OK, we can't compare football with another sport because... Well... It's football. But I remember Croatia playing Davis Cup at home and those games were everything but boring. However, tennis is not that popular to make fans travel to another country to cheer for their national team so this format sucks!

However - BSFL costs a lot of money to run. We need to be fair to the sponsors, and if we see issues early on (like Division 3B), we need to try and find ways to counter it.

Trofo and myself spoke thoroughly this week on how to remedy the current situation, eventually we decided not to have huge changes mid-season because it would be against the rules. Personally, I was exploring a single, 16-team Division 3 from this season already - but it was impossible to achieve it.

One thing is clear though - if we don't find a way to fix it, people will start losing interest and SB will not be that interested in running BSFL anymore.

It's easy to stand on the sidelines yelling 'not fair', but we as organizers have to have a broader overview if we want BSFL to grow and improve.

As Trofo said - we implemented a failsafe this season. You submit, open the spreadsheet, if your name is there, you're good. If it isn't, something with the forms did not work for you.
If you have multiple Gmail accounts, the form sometimes asks you to confirm the account after you click 'submit'. Maybe that's what's causing you issues.

I don't know know if you and/or Trofo saw my post about the possible option going forward to make it more competitive, I said we might be better of with just two Divisions, but with higher number of participant, I mean if we can have 40-50 or participant on SuperBRU, I think the division with 20-25 users and Division with 30 more users will be better and more competitive and someone failing to submit for a week will not have as much significance as it current have with less number of users per division, the only con is that the season might have to go longer than the current plan, but if that will promote engagement and not give anyone the opinion of being way below in the 3rd division and looking at how long it will take to make it to the elite group might be a sort of discouragement, that's just my opinion, I could possibly be very wrong about it.

Initially we thought we'd grow to 20 teams per season and that we'll have 2-round competition, meaning 38 rounds per season - like most football leagues.
By gauging interest, we now feel that 1-round is the sweet spot, and that 16 per league is great as well.

We like that it's more dynamic this way, if you start a 30-team season with 5 losses it's kinda hard to keep interest for the next 20 games, in a short season it goes away quickly and you still have relegation to avoid.

We also need to have some sort of Division 3 - we need to keep growing and we need a league that's not so serious where we can put new members.

But @Trofo and @cryptofrka, aren't the rules good when you knock somebody out after the person failed to submit results three times? Unless someone comes out and announces that there is some serious issue/illness, it should just be disqualification and period.

As I have failed to submit on time once, I know that there can be circumstances involving health issues from either yourself or someone close to you, but getting three passes on failed submissions is certainly enough. The problem is that you have all the work to do to update things when after 10 rounds someone failed to submit for the third time, which I think an upfront paid fee could be good for.

I don't know what others think, but if we include a rule that says something like: if somebody fails to pay the fine for not submitting three times, negative trust on the account could be given for not living up to agreed upon terms. Once the payment is done, negative trust could be removed.

I fully understand the need for remedy here and developing the questions is enough work to do. Starting to update the tables every two weeks is annoying. I guess no suggestion to solve this will be perfect, but it might make people think before they submit their BSFL application.

Let's say it like this - the rules are good, but it isn't good for the competition. We need to find a middle ground - keep the competition fair and competitive, while offering something to the casuals as well.
The problem with H2H competitions is that casuals can't be the majority, because it ruins the concept.

I don't see us ever redtagging somebody in BSFL - after all, we're here to make virtual friends and have fun. We also want to keep the door open for new players, not scare them away with fees and penalties.

We need to do a bit of both - keep you guys happy and engaged while maintaining high numbers for SB - and we already have some decent ideas we'll be implementing.

First of all for all who dont know already or dont play in superbru pools im darxiaomi.

Well i was thinking about the issue of having a lot of people who dont provide the answer and go out of the competition in div 3 and we dont have so many people coming from the forum when we know we have some more who can come and play, because we see them in other pools, obviusly this competition is a little bit more demanding in time. But i really think this can grow very well and ended up the main competition of the whole forum.

Well my idea is to give a share of the prize like 10% of the bag to the player who has the most quantity of correct answer in the season, no matter what division he is. This can be a very good prize to stay in the league and to fight for, i know we already have the cup where everybody plays against each other, but this is a little bit diferent and can retain more the people in the long run.

Another thing we can do for newcomers after a few seasons is put a fee to enter in div 3 but in warranty not like a fee. More like a collateral, so now is gonna be "free" to play, if you fail the 3 times and go out of the tournamet the collateral is excuted and goes into the pot. The warranty is gonna be low clearly like 1 or 2 mbtc or depends on the BTC price at the moment, so at the end of the season the player who wants to leave the competition can reclaim his colateral. I repeat this in only for div 3 player and more likely to newcomers of div 3 to avoid the issue we are having.

That was the simplest prediction for me. Manaco has one of the finest attacks in the league, while PSG's defence is terrible.

Fofana and Colwill have returned to training, and Mudryk, Broja, and Ugochukwu are also available for second-half substitutions. Silva, James, Enzo, Jackson, and Sterling will not play the whole 90 minutes.
