As for Sabalenka, I really hope that she will make use of the walkover against Vondrousova to prepare for the next matches and win eventually. That would secure me another point

With Swiatek out she is a clear favorite now, but you never know with women's tennis. The other day I read about a tennis player who started crying (I think it happend now at US open) when she saw her ex boyfriend in the crowd. 

I also noticed our teams both had more of the same answers all the way down to the last question, so 1 point would mean a lot .

Only 3 different answers among us so its probably gonna be close.

Well, technically none of the questions are settled yet. Sure, Germany is obviously the correct answer for the first question but there are still games that are scheduled to be played today in the group stage.

That also means she gets an extra couple of days of rest and that should give her some advantage against whoever she faces in the semi finals.

Swiatek match isn’t going to start until probably a couple of hours more, because them match is supposed to hold at the Arthur Ashe stadium where Auger-Alliasime and De Minaur are currently battling it out.

Less of an issue for women's tennis I feel. Game's over in an hour, and the workout is probably what keeps them sharp en route to what usually is a tough semi and final. Still, I rest easier that Swiatek's out and both the mafia picked her, maybe my smart ass gets me one over them for the last question. Still two wins away and in WTA, that's an exaggerated coin toss.

And they're still blank^{(my sensationalism post)}... I started to "panic" a bit today, but thank goodness it's not the last round, so there's still a lot of suspense. On the bright side, several things have been resolved in the background, e,g.  today's matches will practically solve 50% of the tennis question.

I also went with Swiatek, because I felt she had easier path to final.

I mean how could we not picked her over Sabalenka. She won wimbledon and Cincinnati before US Open, pretty stable performance if we are picking a winner but oh well shit does happen ( I mean always happen in WTA )

I expect Sabalenka to have a difficult match against Pegula. I hope she will lose and won't reach the final at all.

Despite the usual heavy inconsistency from WTA players, I don't think anyone could have saw that coming, Swiatek losing in straight sets to the same opponent she floored a while back.

Germany currently losing to Slovakia will likely ruined that "Yes" pick for the European world cup qualifiers favorites question, vast majority of the pool went with Yes, myself and my opponent included, so no harm done on that one.

Looks to be another bad start for my team, likely going 0/2. I missed out on the Eurobasket Question, Serbia's early large win motivated my decision to go for them. For question 2, Germany are very likely going to be beaten by Slovakia, they are down by 2 goals and have been totally out of the game from the start. I am not even seeing a way they can get a draw from this game, much less all 3 points.

Netherlands hold a precarious 1 goal lead but they should have enough to see it through.

Not the start I hoped for - but some weird results overall. Both Poland and Slovakia are terrible, so their good results against Netherlands and Germany came as a surprise to me.
Swiatek losing to Anisimova is a weird one too - she won 6-0 6-0 against her in the Wimbledon final. Won't hurt me in LMS, but could against buwaytress - and that's a loss I would not be able to recover from.

Pegula looked like she lack confidence after she broken in her first service game both in the 2nd and 3rd sets, she had numerous opportunities to break back in that 3rd set but she just couldn’t capitalize. I doubt there is anyone stopping Sabalenka now in the finals.

Good thing for me, even if Sabalenka does win in the finals, I got the Paraguay vs Ecuador draw correctly, so that should make up for that.

Now that I’m looking at question #1 again, I realize I didn’t read it correctly.  I thought we were supposed to pick the winner of EuroBasket. Turns out Germany just had the easiest group of four teams. You learn something new every day. It's a shame this might end up costing me the much-needed win.

Yesterday brought a big surprise in the Euro qualifiers Slovakia beat Germany 2:0 at home in Bratislava. Naturally, that was the last match on my ticket, and I ended up losing a good chunk of mBTC.

Great! I have never played a friendly against two teams at the same time, but why not? It's better to earn 1 mBTC against two teams than 0.5 mBTC against one team

I'm not sure if there will be two cup rounds (semi-final and final) or just one (semi-final). If there will be two rounds, I suggest that we use the first round penalties question as the tiebreaker like I did with Trofo in the last cup round. I think there's no need to have two tiebreakers.

I knew that second question was going to let me down, but i'm surprised to see two teams bleed points. On the bright side, my tennis prediction could help me even the scoreline if Sabalenka manages to secure the trophy tomorrow.

The England match could still ruin my plan, but I hope the trend continues and they play less dominantly despite having the home advantage.
