Finally PSL 8th team Multan sultan auction has been ended and officially walee group of technology aquire it with price of 245cr pkr annually (estimated 8.75millions$) after topnotch fight at auction. However Silakot stallion were expected to be the most expensive team of the PSL history after sold for 6.6millions, but now sultan beat them in term of price, Morever unfortunately Multan sultan journey comes to end as PSL management allow new owners to change team as well as city name and they decided to go with team sur name Rawalpindi while last name will be announced soon. It's true that we are just 2 days away from auction so it will be a hard decision for them to decide and take quick action to retain some big name as well as set team name , logo, kit colour as well as coaching staff and rest. Hope we will have a great combination before they head into auction.

So the name of the team will be changed from Multan to Rawalpindi. And the next edition of the Pakistan Super League will feature a total of 8 teams. The annual franchise fee will be a lifeline for the PCB, who is getting much smaller fees from the 6 older franchises. Last month, OZ Developers had purchased the Sialkot franchise for 1.85 billion PKR ($6.64 million). The sale of these two franchises will make sure that the PCB receives around $15.43 million per year. They should find a way to get the other six franchises to pay more as annual fees. Else, it is not going to be fair to the two teams that are paying more.

This change brings PSL on new level because they have good market even things are not going as per potential due to many factors which are hanging them domestically and internationally, this is going to be good change if they are able to keep things on balance, in future this auction can bring good players into this league as well.

I was not expecting few players will be having price like this but many big names unsold, that also surprising me. Blessing Muzarabani done magic today against Australia now fans must be desperately waiting for this event.

Also, the number of matches is much higher in BBL when compared to PSL. This means that salary per match is much higher for Mitchell. Andre Fletcher was the most expensive player in International League T20 season of 2025/26, followed by Scott Currie at $250,000. This effectively means that PSL is now the richest franchise T20 league after the IPL.

Yeah, the PSL is going to be crazy this season, We saw some major changes, including the addition of new teams and players, and the first ever televised auction. I enjoyed the auction and am curious about how much fun it will be when the season starts. In the auction, I thought Babar Azam would be the most expensive player, but he was sold for a low amount. Somehow, there are many players who went unsold, and some were very cheap.

I can't wait for it, I hope to see it soon and enjoy every game. As every team has selected the best players, we will see some spicy fights among them.

Last month Sialkot Stallionz signed him outside the auctions, for a salary of close to $500,000. BTW, Stallionz is a new franchise which will make their debut this season. It is owned by Hamza Majeed (who holds Australian citizenship) and the franchise was purchased for a fee of $6.55 million per year. BTW, the total purse available for each team is $1.8 million (reduced to $1.6 million if there are no direct signings). Given this, around 30% of the Stallionz hiring budget went to Smith.

Yeh Smith was considered one of high paid star of the tournament but as soon as Hyderabad Kingsman signed the big stage beast, the X-factor, the one and only Glenn Maxwell ultimately he became of the high node foreign star right now, although his actual signing amount wasn't revealed yet by management but source claim his price on top. Early on Maxwell were reached out by several PSL franchise but he denied to spent some quality time with his family, But now I believe the amount the money will be main turning point of his decision to be part of PSL for the very first time. So welcome maxi on board. While Peshawar zalmi may be looking to sign faf or may be JFM as they have huge left in purse for some direct signing while fans were suggesting them to get some quality allrounder or pacer to balance his team strength.

Well that's not my own statement but a reference from several big news claims including ARY news, Wisden, Express Tribune etc but now after official press conference from OZ Group Chairperson Hamza Majeed things got clear as they explain how thier partner not just done payment even after deadline but provide them fake receipt and then use such tactics to spread negativity and trying to damage thier group. OZ group no doubt now officially announced they were looking for strategic partner to split share in half with them as that were thier mindset even before securing team as they believe that how businesses work. Morever kamil Khan whom claim co-owner of oz group were just limited to cricketing affairs so his tweet hasn't any relation with team officials.

Yeh that huge development for Pakistan Super League to sell media rights for such huge Amount which make officially allow them to overtake women Indian premier league (WIPL) in term of selling media rights ranks and become second richest league following Indian premier league by selling his tv rights for 26millions$ annually, Morever some sources have claim selling amount of 93millions but authentic claims for 104millions$. My only concern is that the deal is signed in terms of PKR (Pakistan Rupee). As per the current exchange rates, the USD amount is approximately $93 million. But as we know, the PKR is a inflationary currency and as time progresses, the USD value may get smaller. It would have been much better if the deal was signed with USD numbers. In most of the other countries, majority of the viewership now comes from online streaming. That is not the case with Pakistan, due to low broadband coverage. But it is changing, and hopefully by the next cycle online streaming rights will push the sale value to much higher amounts than what it is for 2026-29.

They need a few things that could bring a good boost, but things are not working on the right path, which is hurting the economy and stability of this country. Imran Khan's imprisonment is also having a big negative impact on the country's economy and image.

Today PCB has done good work on one thing, which brings some good excitement for fans. Multan Sultans are back in the lineup for next season's league, and Sialkot Stallions have agreed to have the name Multan Sultan.

I agree this because Pakistan has never been stable, they are facing many internal issues, while the recent Iran vs America/Israel is also going to have a big impact on their economy, which is already dependent on IMF and Gulf funding.

Yeah, if this war situation doesn't diffuse quicky, then i think will the international players be willing to visit Pakistan to play in PSL. There are a lot of security concerns and I don't think any player will be willing to travel to Pakistan in this situation. Even I am not sure that whether we will have PSL start on time or maybe it will be delayed.

PSL is to start from 26 March and we have less than a month to get the things going and hope the world is at the peace soon and we can enjoy the cricket action.
