I really don't like sprint races. I wish that they never existed. Especially when qualifying sessions are held on Fridays it feels nonsensical to me. The idea you have mentioned above could be good. Having qualifying sessions first and sprint race after on Saturdays might make weekends more enjoyable.

I also don't like sprint races,it would be best if we keep the usual old way of qualifying and remove sprint races as in most cases we have not seen real action exactly because they are just that,sprint races with a lot more fewer laps than the original race.Either we make them to be like 30 laps and one mandatory pit stop to add to the action or we don't need them at all to be part of the F1 season as we have seen that they do not produce any real emotions in the way they are structured in the last 2 years that we have seen them implemented.

They introduced the sprint races to have more audience on Friday.

Now since they qualify in on Friday, they achieved their goal and they will expand from here.

Some time in the last season of F1 I remember Christian Horner making a statement like they were intending to continue with Sergio Perez next season also. As a result I don't think there will be any change in their decision. By saying "some time in the season" I meant a time close to the end of the season by the way. 

Sergio Perez talked about how competitive he was going to be in 2024 season. But honestly I don't buy it.    Because you have all seen the downgrade in his performance in the 2nd half of the season. For now I don't think he is the right person for this seat considering his last condition.

Yes they will continue with Perez as he fits perfectly into their plans.He managed to get 2nd even by driving in such a mediocre way which means all other teams are really struggling to keep up with Redbull and unfortunately I assume this would be the case for the upcoming years until the regulations change in 2026,until then it will be extremely difficult for any team to match Redbull pace.Maybe McLaren can surprise all of their fans which I would be happy and even non fans as they were the team closest to Redbull in the ending stage of the last season.

Pretty sure it's gonna be Perez because Daniel Ricciardo isn't ready for the second seat at Red Bull yet and Perez still has one more year to go with his contract.  No need to hurry shooing him off as his days with the team are numbered.  

The only thing Perez could do to save himself and retain his seat at Red Bull is to win a championship which he'll never be able to do.  Verstappen has been winning the constructor's championship all by himself...  Embarassing for Perez imho.

Oh, then I hope not to see a poor performing Perez again. He actually makes a good start to a season first but he is having consistency problems recently. Maybe he tends to lose his concentration easily after a point and this isn't a good feature for a Red Bull driver. Even though Verstappen carries the team to titles Perez should also do much better considering he is driving the fastest car on the grid.

Ricciardo was rumoured quite a lot for Perez's seat. Especially in the time period Perez's form dropped a lot these rumours started to be spreaded more. But here we are.    It looks like Horner wants to give him another chance. Because Perez is actually a great driver. Helmut Marko could have done the same thing to him which he did to De Vries though. I wouldn't have been surprised.

^  Ricciardo to Red Bull is already written the minute he stepped in Alpha Tauri.  The guy just needs more time with the junior team to get his bearings back while waiting out Perez's contract expiration at Red Bull.  At least that's what I think.  And I think Helmut Marko doesn't really like Perez.

Another clue that points Ricciardo's eventual return to Red Bull is Helmut Marko personally called Ricciardo to ask him to take the drive at Alpha Tauri.

I just don't see the same old Ricciardo you know, @tokeweed.    I still can't forget about his high competition against Verstappen in his Red Bull times. The challenge between them was so rough that sometimes this was resulting in crashes. For example the clearest example that I remember for that is the one Ricciardo hit Verstappen from the back in Azerbaijan GP.

Now Ricciardo is driving without feeling under pressure. I can't be sure if Red Bull's first choice would be him thinking of their history in case they part ways with Perez.

A press conference was held today in Madrid at which it was announced that the capital of Spain will host the Formula 1 race starting in 2026. Moreover, it will be called the “Spanish Grand Prix”. The 5.47 km circuit will be built around the IFEMA exhibition center and will include 20 turns, but the project must still be approved by the FIA. The estimated time for the drivers to complete a lap in qualifying is 1 minute 32 seconds.

There is no information yet about the fate of the other Spanish stage, the Barcelona Grand Prix. The Catalan race remains on the calendar for the 2024 season.

Red Bull have always been keen on having a main driver who can be competitive for the championship. Verstappen was about to become their next main driver after Vettel.    Red Bull don't have the same mentality as Ferrari right now. Ferrari have seen both of their drivers equal for quite a while you know. This is sometimes good but it makes things more dangerous about the championship because of a heated rivalry.

Sounds like the old rivalry in La Liga between Valencia and Real and now Madrid is adding a track of their own in the F1 calendar starting soon.The track layout looks like a very fast one despite being a city circuit,kinda like Saudi Arabia and we all the fans love fast circuits much more than slower ones,for example in Monaco there have been 3 consecutive races with 0 emotions and we want as few as possible of such races.

fast circuits where there are many overturns are much more interesting for watching, than slower circuits with 0 overturns, where qualifications matters the most

will we have a pool for next season, it is fast approaching, and some events (like Hungaroring) are already sold-out for fans
although teams are still settling for new season, and didn't announce drivers yet

Apparently this part of the track cannot be bypassed in any way, otherwise they would try to do it, it would be one of the most inconvenient sections of this track. This is all done for the sake of entertainment, for the drivers it will be an additional burden, for the spectators it will be another race.

And it’s funny that the race in Madrid will be called “Spanish Grand Prix”, they are even trying to compete in the name.  Yes, high-speed racing is more interesting for us, but it is always more difficult for the drivers.
