Too late to start?

Hi!

I have heard about Bitcoin back in 2017 but never got to learn regarding about it. I always thought that crypto was a fluke and that it would definitely not be a type of transaction until pandemic happens. So, as the title would suggest, is it too late to start investing on crypto? And if not, what would be the essentials to learn on working on it?

Just first know that it is not late to start. Did you know that less than 10% of the people in the world have yet invested in crypto, not even yet close to 10%. Also even if the adoption has been so much, the adoption will still continue.

You created this in the trading discussion, but you should know that trading can make things to go ugly for you. If you eventually go into crypto trading, you have to always keep in my that you should start with the amount of money that you can afford to lose. It would even be better if you use less than the amount you can afford to lose until you make profit from it for months. But my dvise is that you should just not trade but learn more about investment.

To start, learn about bitcoin, learn about bitcoin halving and how it is having effect on crypto prices. To not make things complicated for you, you can start with reading bitcoin for beginners, like this ones:

For news, you can check Cointelegraph or Coindesk for it. There are many other news sites. You can browser about it.
For price app, you can go for Coingecko which is better, or go for Coinmarketcap, but I will not recommend the later because Binance owned it. I will not recommend what is more centralized that Binance can manipulate for the progress of their exchange, Binance.

You should try and check the price of coins after bitcoin halves, first and second year after of bullish trend, which will follow third year of bearish trend, and fourth year of bullish and bearish trend.

Invest in bitcoin. But altcoins are more volatile and if they have fallen so much, you can gamble with good ones among them, going for the ones with high marketcap. But know that altcoins are not decentralized like bitcoin and their can be more manipulations.

Whether you are a beginner of you must have heard about Bitcoin, it doesn't matter so what you need right now is to prepare your mind and start your own learning journey. If you don't start right away you will keep running late and you will be abandoned by other users. 2017 when you know about crypto you should have started to think that crypto continues to grow especially bitcoin. It is never too late to invest in something that should be around for the next 100+ years. Bitcoin is the only thing that can challenge the fiat currencies and it should increase in value the more people who use it the more it will be worth. I think you should try dollar cost averaging out. Search online [1] for a explanation and it should give you a tutorial on how to do it. If you do dca instead of investing a big amount you should be safer when Bitcoin goes down which it does often. It is easy to think that Bitcoin will fail when the price goes down but if you have faith and wait until it starts recovering again you should see good profits.

Many people thought it is too late to buy a first bitcoin when it was traded about $60,000 but now they have chance to buy it around $22,000 or months ago at cheaper price around $16,000?

Did they still think it is too late to do that? Did they actually buy it when they have very great discount from $60,000?

If they did not buy any fraction of bitcoin in the last few months, yeah they will never join.

Sorry it is not all about buying huge amount of coins to be rich in cryptocurrency because many other people have gone that way of buying huge amount of it but they ended up buying every shit in the market. The most important thing is not to invest but to study the technology and how the system works together with the season so that when investing, then you can invest rightly. To buy coins is not really a big deal but to profit while hodling it.

You are not early, but you are also not late. You are right on time and should be proud of yourself the bold step that you have finally taken. I advice that you cultivate the habit of reading and finding out things for yourself so you do not get misguided into making a wrong investment that you will regret. As you invest, you should also think and consider the security of your investment which should be taken seriously because loss of access to wallet and theft of investment by hackers is very possible.

@OP, Follow the suggestions, people already advised in this thread. I won't suggest what to do as people already suggested a lot of things. I would like to answer your title question. There are two types of Crypto Currency. Bitcoin and Shitcoins. If you want to invest in shitcoins, do your research before you invest.

If you want to invest in Bitcoin, It's not late yet. Don't invest all in at once. Bitcoin is not for short-term investors. It's volatile. You will get some smart profit in long term, but you have to hold tight. As I said, don't invest all in at once. Follow DCA (Dollar cost average) method. If the Bitcoin price goes up, buy less, if it goes down, buy more. Keep doing it as long as you want. Never sell at a loss.

It's never too late, especially since bitcoin is always growing. I'm sure this question has also been asked by many people who started crypto in 2020 or in previous years, and indeed I know many people who have essentially the same questions. If you want to start, all you have to know is what cryptocurrency is, don't be here just because you follow people and you don't know what cryptocurrency is at all. We're still early in crypto. That's what I thought back in 2016 also that I'm already late in crypto but I saw ETH from $7 to more than $1000. Now that it's back to $1500, it shouldn't be surprising to see it back to more than $4k in the bull market.

What is needed for an aspiring trader I think is that before the bull run, the dip of prices is pretty much low, and something the investor's sentiment has already dropped to the lowest. Which is also the right time to buy.

This is a normal feeling when you are in the crypto space. Everyone always go through such set back all the time. You came to know about bitcoin in 2017, but consider my case where I knew about bitcoin well around 2014 but I never started right in that year. It was all in talks first, just some chatter over coffee and work breaks. It was just our Topic of discussion in between colleagues and we used to forget about it until we meet again for next coffee. That was the value for us, just curious Topic and nothing else.

Do I regret not taking any action on it? Yes I did. But soon I came to know that it does not matter at what point you start with it. You always get to invest just like others did before. Bitcoin still has to go very long so don’t be disappointed. Just start with it if you know it already.
