For me, I don't think that the performance of Canelo is enough to beat Bivol at this point. Bivol is a volume puncher and very accurate, so even if Canelo wanted to be the aggressor, Bivol can counter him all night just like the first fight.
It was not a knock out victory, everyone wanted to see if he can do it, but as you have said, maybe he is affected psychologically with that injured hand of his that's why he can't throw it the way he used to be. So both Benavidez and Bivol might beat the version of Canelo that this show against Ryder, just saying.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. I think Canelo needs 1 more fight to gain confidence with that left hand of his. But first, he should watch his own tape in this Ryder fight because he only used it for the jabs and not for the haymaker hook or uppercut. Consider it if that is enough to fight against Bivol again.
I bet his camp will say the same thing as we think, he ain't ready yet or he won't be if he doesn't overcome the mentality of his left hand being injured again.
Also, Ryder was not using jabs so that's going to be a problem when he faces Bivol because it will be raining with jabs and I am sure Canelo will have a hard time defending it.
I think he put his career on the line to push himself to his limits but it ain't enough, it's not that dominant which was expected by the fans and Ryder was still standing when the 12 rounds were done.
