You're not getting a lot if you're betting against your favorite team where you are a die-hard, so I'll just skip it and just cheer for your favorite team there will be times when my favorite team will build up so I can continue betting for them if you're betting against them it's like betraying your loyalty to the team, you are not a die-hard fan in a real sense, you're just a casual fan.

If it's just for the money and entertainment, I don't think there's something wrong with betting against your favorite team. There are a lot of benefits to it too! The mere fact that it allows you to stay grounded and not embody being a die-hard fan of your team is already a big plus that will save you a lot of upfront discussions against other die-hards. Plus the indispensable advantage of knowing what your team can and cannot do is also in your hands, allowing you to make a clearer judgement on whether the team they will be playing against is good or not.

lastly, if the enemy does win the loss of your favorite team wouldn't hurt that much! Cause at least you got money from it! So it's not like you're not getting much from this ordeal, in fact you're getting a lot from just deciding to bet against your favorite team.

I can support my club and always wish them well to win every match they play for that is what makes a fan proud to talk about his or her club anywhere and amongst friends..

But when it comes to betting, that is getting money involved, I won't hesitate to bet against my club if I am very sure they are playing against another club that they might not be able to beat..

It's a simple analogy, my club consists of players who are earning money weekly or bi-weekly, they don't know who I am, they don't even know I exist, what exactly is the reason why I should deliberately loss my money for them?

I can support my team and cheer them to win, but when it comes to money, I am most careful how I invest it, if I know my club is likely not going to win a match, I will gladly bet on the opposition, money is not easy to come by, so there is no room to waste it.

Different people have different opinions about this, of course. Like, I believe that my loyalty towards my team will always be there no matter what, but if I know that the team we are playing against is very balanced and has got everything to win and we haven't been performing so well throughout the season. Depends on the person's perspective because there is actually no rule that says about prohibiting in gambling against your favorite team especially if you are a die-hard fan of them but others will say the opposite because that it's just an unwritten rule as that is one of the factors of being a loyal to your club. Although for me, all sides have a point but I put my gambling and support in two different things. So in plain answer, yes, I will bet against my team especially if there are times that their chances are not that strong and this kind of scenario has already happened to me before, just like in NBA.

After all, that is how we show our support and loyalty towards our beloved team. It may not be our national team or our own team that is directly connected to us but what can we do, it is the team where our mind is into. Even though there are some times that their chances are not that strong, we are still supporting them from betting in favor of them and putting our little contribution towards them. That's true, I know people that do feel the same way understand that it's not about gambling anymore. As we're like to expect that these bets are set to lose and it's okay since it's not a lot and it's like a spare change that we have. While I understand that some people will say that people shouldn't bet when they're not comfortable of the teams they're betting. So how about when you're seeing a serious losing game and you keep wagering on them cus it's a big club playing against your lame club?? Would that change the fact that your team losses if they had to?? No!
But on the other hand, there's always this relief and less-anxiety when staking in favour of your club - but that's only when you're sure they'll win... Maybe when they're made to play with a club in the relegation zone etc ...lol. thirdly, it also depends on Which team you become a fan of.

Maybe in some of their matches, if the team they're up against is overall better and I see them struggling, then there's no need for me to hesitate in betting against them (as long as the odds are good to bet on). As a gambler, you don't always find matches that can be seen as an easy win, and there will be a day when your team will be involved, so there's no need to avoid them just because you're a die-hard fan. fortunately, i'm not a big fan of Chelsea lol, i myself am a fan of Man Utd and Madrid but when Man Utd was in a bad phase ^{(like a few months ago when there was no change to the MU squad)} i never bet against MU but decided not to take bets for the time being, if it's related to MU, but it's different with Madrid, i always follow all bets related to Madrid because Madrid's performance was very satisfying even though they failed to win from man city in the UCL semifinals.  In general, you are not a loyal fan if the bet you make is against your favorite team.

The answer actually depends on your reasons why you are betting. So answers will vary for each gambler. Because if you are there to actually support your team, man. regardless of whether they win or lose you will support them. But if it does mean losing your funds, do not risk your money knowing that you are giving it away. You can give your support in many other ways. If loyalty is a great big deal for you, you won't bet on the other side. BUT if money is more important to you, and based on your analysis the other team will win, you can make a large sum of money in there.
